I wanted to give this place a shot because the reviews were amazing and it seemed professional. It turned out to be a nightmare! My hair already had minor damage from previous bleaching 4 months prior but no chemicals had touched my hair since. I told the woman doing my hair I wanted to stay away from bleach and wanted to add color or low lights to my already blonde hair so I wouldnt half to keep up with my roots. She agreed but the first thing she did was dump bleach on my brown roots. I didnt say anything assuming she was the professional and knew the process. My FIRST regret! When the bleach came off my hair was yellow..literally the color of an awful bleach job! She then grabs another stylist and begins blow drying my hair while they stare, discuss, and smile at my hair(Im watching in the mirror..in horror). She then turns off the blow dryer and darts to the back and returns with more product. I ask what she is doing..she informs she is applying a hi lift to my hair(can you say DAMAGE!!!) I wasnt aware of what a hi lift was until it went on!!! My scalp was on FIRE! SECOND mistake! I spoke up and she said it was normal because I just had bleach on my scalp! She then starts foiling my hair in a hurry while the hi lift was on to "knock it out at once!" the end product: my hair is now extremely fried and yellow I want to cry and I have scabs in my scalp from what I assume is from a chemincal burn..which explains the awful burning sensation! Its so UGLY!!!!!!!! I cant believe I trusted this " professional" and paid her to ruin my hair! She didnt preserve it from its previos state she destroyed it!!!! I paid $300 for that! Please save yalls money and go to encore or lu Vaughn zalon! They do amazing work and are a quarter of the price! Its not true..you dont get what you pay for at Toni & guy Lubbock! Its a joke!!!!!!!! Oh and these five stars on this forum are from stylists that work there!!!!!!

Ashley Gressett is a color technician at Toni and Guy. Ashley has been coloring my hair for 13 years now. Ashley takes the time to read the mood of the client and ask the appropriate questions to be sure that the client is getting the color and full salon experience they are paying for . Ive gone in and just wanted my usual full highlight with a warm color added in which creates a fun but not drastic contrast. There have been other days that Ive come in and asked Ashley to do something completely different and she always makes me look great and feel good about myself. Ive seen other clients coloring from as simple as a full color or highlight to fuscia purple crazy eye catcher. Ashley can do it all with the upmost class and expertise. Ashley doesnt just do hair she lives out this passion. Ashley is always creative with her own hairstyle and fashion. This sets the tone and makes the client feel excited about their experience and the anticipated outcome of their hair. The TIGI hair color that Toni and Guy uses is definitely top of the line and doesnt fade, bleed, or change much at all over time. The combination of the quality hair color, Ashleys explicit expertise, and overall contemporary atmosphere is why I continue to drive 2 1/2 hours every time I am ready for my "girl day" at Toni and Guy in Lubbock. This August with mark 14 years that I have been a customer of Ashley Gressetts and my loyalty will remain. Thank you, Lacy Billeiter

Went to T&G by recommendation and was given a discount coupon. They were able to get me in that day (which when you think about it is a red flag) Hair cut was horribly wrong. Showed stylist a picture which would be going from shoulder length hair with about three layers close to the end to short hair around the ears with many layers making the hair look fuller when styled. The stylist only shortened already existing layers and added some layers across the crown but did not cut the length at all. My friend said I came out looking exactly the same as when I went to the back but after observing closer saw how my hair was cut and how it looked like a very inexperienced stylist had done a horrible chop job on me. Then I was charged a discounted $50+ for a very regretful haircut that will indeed have to be corrected. There is a lesson in this for me as well but when you trust a place like T&G to be capable of doing their job you expect them to be able to provide a service with confidence & a sense of security to the customer/client. If they are going to employ people fresh out of school then a customer should be informed somehow with thought to not only most importantly the customer/ client but to the stylist as well. She was a very polite person who appeared to be trying her best and I did not want to insult her efforts (we must all start some where). I can say lesson learned but that doesnt correct the problem for T&G!!

When the stylist asked me how I wanted my haircut, I showed her a picture. Her response was that is not a haircut that is a hair style. I then told her I wanted the haircut for the hair style. She tried talking me out of the cut because she thought I wouldnt like short hair. I told her I have had many short cuts and this is what I wanted. After washing my hair she cut about an 1 and 1/2 off of the back. She then blow dryed my hair with a round brush. It looked nothing like the picture just a shorter version of what I came in with. She then started texturizing my hair. Once again it looked nothing like the picture I took in. I left the salon. The next morning I had to be somewhere at 10:00. I got up and took a shower. My hair was about 1 to 2 inches longer on the right side. I had to go to a meeting like that. Once I could leave I went straight back to the salon for them to fix it. I will never set foot back in that salon. I feel if you pay over $80 for a cut, it should at least be even. Worst service and haircut I have ever had in my 57 years of life.

Update: its been 8 years and I stick to everything Ive said. She is just the best! Ive sent so many of my friends, family and co workers her way and they all Love her. Ive followed Sara Perez for the past six years. She is the only one I trust with my hair. My hair is stubborn and oddly curly, she is the only one who has been able to take care of me right. i recommend her and Toni & Guy to all my friends and family. My mother even travels from Wichita Kansas to get hair done here. They really are the best!

Amanda Ornelas is seriously amazing! By far the best hair stylist Ive ever been to! The experience was absolutely AMAZING. She gave my the hair cut and dye that I asked for. And it was hard to describe but she instantly knew what I wanted! She knows how to keep the converstations going! It was like an at home experience when me and the girls get ready to go somewhere! I HIGHLY recommend Toni and Guy! By far the best service I have ever gotten! Best hair salon in the west Texas area for SURE!
