management is terrible here. The course materials have all kinds of typos and incorrect information and the instructors cant explain anything other than whats on the PowerPoint slides theyre given. The school is constantly out of products like hair dye so students arent able to do the services they are here to learn. There are not enough instructors to actually teach you anything once you are out of class (for 3 hours a week sometimes). Their excuse as to why they are out of products is to "prepare you for the real world". Meanwhile they have students cleaning the bathrooms and helping with maintenance projects like fixing bathroom stalls. I was also told I have to purchase a textbook that was included for every other student in my class because "some kits didnt come with it". Unless something changes I would highly not recommend going to school here.

Ive heard that this place was a hit or miss. I guess it was a miss when I went. It took the student 2 and a half hours to screw up my hair. She cut it about three or four inches too short. Even the instructor made a comment on how she thought we had agreed on a longer length but it was too late. In general, the student wasnt very good at listening. I told her what my preferences were but they were not taken into account at all. I just wanted layers which I thought were pretty standard. In the end, I was left with a haircut I absolutely hated. I had to go to another place to have it fixed. The extra services like the scalp and hand massage are nice but not worth the terrible haircut. I am extremely disappointed and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful School, Great Location. Good Prices. Great Product - Aveda color which leaves your hair less-damaged than other brands. You get what you pay for at this school salon. I got my long hair dyed, full one color . Most of the students are young and inexperienced. They take longer than normal since they are practicing and learning. Took her 2.5 hours total. The shampoo was not thorough, she left ALOT of dye in back of my head even after I asked her to rinse back there. I had to rush home after to give myself a REAL rinse and shampoo. Students are all extremely nice. My conclusion: I am happy with my color. For the price, I think it was worth it. Normal cost for long hair dye at an Aveda salon around $145.00, at Aveda School around $50.00 :)

I went to Aveda for the first time today and was extremely impressed with Elizabeth, the girl who did my hair. I went in for an updo hoping I would be put with someone who was good and had some experience and I was blown away by her talent. There was some confusion at the front desk and I had to wait about 20 minutes after my appointment time but by the time the appointment was over I was so happy with my hair I didnt care. I would highly recommend taking a chance on Aveda Institute and is Elizabeth is working ask for her! :)

My visits here are ALWAYS great. The students and employees are always so friendly and helpful. From deciding what hair color looks best on me to their customer service. The junior students usually take a little longer than the masters so I have to make sure I make time for just my hair. Each instructor has to look over what it is your doing before and how it comes out after to help them. Aside from the possible length of the process, I have NO complaints what so ever. Keep up the great work guys.

I was very pleased with the service I received here. The place is very clean and nice, the staff is nice, and the prices are unbeatable! I understand some people left negative comments, but you also knew going in that these were students. Theyre under very careful supervision of their teachers and arent just trying to meet a quota... Theyre learning! I have really long hair and I got highlights. $65 and 4 hours later, I was satisfied with the end result! I will continue to do business here !

I asked for a trim...2 lost inches later I have a bad haircut by someone who is graduating this week. You get what you pay for...is the lesson I learned. The "educator" that checks on the students work told me it just seemed shorter to me because it was a new cut. I told her the student had taken a before picture for her portfolio so there was proof my hair was significantly longer.

Unprofessional, unreliable on the business side of the school. Appointments are cancelled at the last minute because students decide they dont want to stay and earn their hours. Management should make students adhere to their scheduled commitments in order to prep students for when they graduate and have to work in the real world.

If you care about your hair AT ALL do not go here. Got a perm and my hair is now falling out in clumps. The students and instructors are clearly devastatingly uneducated in proper hair care. They are trying to meet a quota to graduate and therefore do not care whether a service is right for a client or not.

Ive been going to Aveda for years. I scheduled a color correction and cut recently and was lucky enough to be placed with Giselle. She corrected my color and wonky cut that I recieved a week prior by another senior student. Giselle is a natural....she just understands the look youre going for.

I was really surprised how nice everything was. I got a color and it turned out just the way I wanted. I got a nice shoulder and neck massage while I waited along with a hand massage. I felt so relaxed! I will be coming back for sure. I had a wonderful experience!

Place was clean and the students and instructors were very nice. The lady who cut my hair was awesome. If she didnt know the next thing to do, she would go ask the instructor. She washed my hair and massaged my head and hands. Overall great experience.

I had a young lady that did not know what to do and did not feel comfortable asking for help...and the Institute doesnt allow the students to help one another. She waddled her way through it and I wish that I had left.
