My son attended this facility when he was 3 years old almost 2 years ago. Under Ms. Leah Smiths "supervision" my son fell and hit his chin on a slide. I was asked to sign an incident report stating that I was notified of the accident. I asked the teachers and assistant director if anyone saw the incident as it happened and they responded with a "no". I became furious, the only reason they knew that my son was hurt was because he walked towards the teachers with blood dripping from his chin. My son had to get stitches because the injury on the chin was too deep. I know accidents happen, but the teachers responsibility is to watch all children like hawks. My son has never suffered any sort of injury of this magnitude under my supervision. I filed a report against the facility for child neglect and asked a very special teacher (under confidentiality) to please watch my son closely until I could find a better daycare. This same teacher confessed to me that another child under Ms. Leah Smiths supervision around the age of 3 was left to go to the restroom alone and was drowning with toilet water. No report was ever written and filed for this incident and the parents were not notified. After I filed a report against this facility for child neglect the Assistant Director Amy Kilpatrick changed her attitude towards me and my child in a very negative way. She began to make weekly if not almost daily accusations that my child was aggressive towards teachers and other children. A behavior that we were not seeing at home. I supposed she felt threatened because of the report I filed against them and wanted retaliation. Anyways, I got my son out of this horrible daycare as soon as I could and we have never had any problems like this happen at our current daycare facility.
