Before anyone gets a bee in their bonnet (look it up, youngsters), I like True Texas, and my 3 stars is more like 3-1/2. I am becoming more and more a bbq snob, so anything 3 or above is solid, and I do recommend the place. Now, the food... Had the staple 2-meat plate today with ribs and lean brisket, macaroni and cheese, banana pudding, and sweet tea (of course). Ribs were very smoky and tasty without needing sauce. Brisket had good flavor but was a tad dry and benefited from a bath in their spicy (not alarmingly so) sauce. Mac and cheese was excellent. Banana pudding was tasty, but they make a whippier variety, and I like mine a bit creamier, like dear, ol mom used to make (straight from the box). Sweet tea here always is a bit short on sugar for a true southerner, but it is okay. Atmosphere is comfortable and service friendly. Overall, quick, reasonably priced, and solid bbq without being quite at the extraordinary level of so many central Texas landmark bbq joints.

I ordered a chopped beef sandwich to try the place out. My first time eating here. I was very disappointed. The beef was dry and it was spicy. I didnt order the spicy version. However, the service was very good and the sitting area was clean and inviting. Maybe the pork ribs will be better.

The absolute worst BBQ sandwich ever!! i live 5 minutes from the HEB in Seguin and by the time i got home this thing had leaked all over my vehicle and the meat and bun we so greasy it was inedible. Disappointed!!
