Brent Gillies and his staff are the most caring and dedicated people I know. My patients have worked with him for their deceased loved ones. He goes above and beyond!! I have nothing but wonderful praise for him, his staff and funeral home. They have always done a great job during such a difficult time for people. Would recommend him to anyone who wants to feel loved, have their deceased loved ones in the best hands, and who supersedes standard of care!!! In addition, Brent loves all people; he is not racist. He serves this community, which consists of people of all religions, cultures and ethnicity. Brent has a great sense of humor and posted something on his timeline, which was supposed to be a joke, but it was insensitive. I do not believe he meant to be insensitive. Brent is a very happy, loving and caring man and did not intentionally mean to offend anyone. He is constantly trying to get people to laugh and enjoy life despite the way our world is. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES, BUT THOSE MISTAKES DO NOT REPRESENT OR DEFINE US. We learn from them and they make us better. Hard to believe that people would rate him and his business poorly because of a poor joke. Rate him on how he does with his business and how he treats people. This is what this rate and review is for. I guarantee that the people who rated him poorly were never treated poorly by him and obviously do not know Brent. His joke was on his Facebook page for friends and family; he apologized for his mistake. Its time to stop the witch hunt and return to treating people civilly. We all have weaknesses and the people who rated him poorly over this, I dont think would like their mistakes rated online. I understand his position, but forgive and move on to more important matters in the world. This does not take away the fact, how great of man he is and how great he is at what he does. Thanks Brent for your service, dedication and for who you are:)

By far, the most loving and compassionate person I have ever met! Brent Gillies has a heart bigger than life and took the utmost care of our daughter. He treated us with great respect and sympathy during our time of need. By far the BEST in the area and loves EVERYONE, treating everyone he comes into contact with love, compassion, and kindness. There are people posting negative reviews solely on what someone told them to do and it breaks my heart! Because it is absolutely untrue! They have no idea who he is and that he doesnt have racist bone in his body and love and serves everyone of every race, religion, background, etc.. He is a very laughable and hilarious guy that loves to make others laugh and posts lots of fun jokes on his personal, I repeat PERSONAL f.b. page, and someone who has something against him purposely circulated what they perceived to be racist around( and could use against him), asking many people to write negative reviews of him, even though they have never met or done business with him. He is just a jokester and and I live reading his jokes every day, because they make my day brighter! He would NEVER intentionally post anything racist and LOVES everyone he has helped through their toughest times, including many many, Hispanic families. And never once has judged another. He is by far the best at what he does and will serve anyone he comes into contact with, no matter who you are....

I’ve had the privilege to know and associate with Brent Gillies in many different capacities for over 15 years and am honored to call him a friend. I have seen firsthand the caring and compassionate service that Brent and his staff have offered to families in their greatest time of sorrow and need. It was hard not to notice that every negative review of Gillies Funeral Chapel was placed in the last week since the Facebook post was made. I think it is rather unfortunate that a man’s reputation that he has built throughout his career is being damaged because of one social media post. I refuse to condemn a great man for this especially after a sincere apology has been made.

Gillis Funeral Chapel provided services for my grandmother. She looked great, and they were so easy to work with. The services were very organized and professional. Brent is a very caring man, and is easy to talk to even in hard situations! He remembers families, and gets emotionally involved. Hes not just running a business, but loves helping family through rough times. The business is very active in the community, and donates and participates in many community events. Id recommend anyone to use Gillis Funeral Chapel for their funeral needs.

Those who are giving negative reviews have never been to Gillies Funeral Chapel or met Brent Gillies. He is not racist and is a very caring man. Shame on those posting negative reviews for acting like a mob and trying to ruin a man and how he makes a living. We all live in glass houses and you forget you are not perfect. These people are acting at the request of those associated with an ex-disgruntled employee. DO NOT BELEIVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Believe the people who actually know Brent and have actually used Gillies Fineral Chapel.

Dont pay any attention to the sheep trying to smear the reputation of Brent Gillies on google! They have a political axe to grind at Mr.Gillies expense! Gillies Funeral Chapel handled my mothers funeral yesterday with professionalism and respect! They were all so kind and helpful, I really appreciate the efforts they made in my behalf and the love they showed towards my mother! I would recommend Gillies to anyone looking for a little more human and personal touch for funeral arrangements!

I attended the viewing of Box Elder Countys Sheriff, Lynn Yeates, at Bents Funeral Home and was very impressed with his ability to accommodate and effectively lead through the visitation line the large volume of family and friends who wanted to pay their respects. The viewing ran smoothly and Brent could be seen walking around, ensuring everyones comfort. This was the first time I met Brent and we instantly became friends.

There are a lot of people saying that Brent is a racist...hes far from it. He is a very honest and caring person, in fact you wont find a better person who cares about EVERYONE! The compassionate and caring services offered by Mr. Gillies are second to none in Box Elder County. That said, every viewing or funeral service I have attended to has been top notch and truly had the thoughts and emotions of those left behind in mind. I would entrust no other funeral chapel in a 300 mile radius with my own lifeless remains.
