As a first time home-buyer, I was really anxious about finding the “perfect” home. My husband and I had a whole list of requirements and “nice-to-haves” (that were really just requirements we didn’t want to own up to), and I was sure that the search for our new home would be long and arduous. I was even more nervous about the offering, financing, funding, and closing process. I knew absolutely nothing about what would be needed and required from us in order to actually obtain a house. Essentially, I was going in totally and completely blind. Our first meeting with Doug Winder from the BHurd team was an almost out-of-body experience. Doug has been doing this for many years (nearly all my relatives have used his services at one time or another—they wouldn’t dream of using anyone else), and right from the get-go, he gave us clear, concise, valuable information on the home-buying process. Honestly, I almost felt like I was getting the “inside scoop.” Everything that had been nebulous, terrifying, hazy, and panicky in my head was suddenly calm. Doug asked about our preferences in location, square footage, features, etc. and within an hour, we had list of viable possibilities for our home search. We found a house that we adored while we were sitting there in the BHurd offices, and Doug immediately got on the phone to schedule a showing—which he took us to directly. Within a couple of hours we had made our first official offer. The process was so quick and clean that I almost couldn’t believe it had been so easy. Doug kept us apprised of the status of our offer, sometimes multiple times a day. When it was accepted, he celebrated with us. Once our offer had been accepted, Doug led us step-by-step through the funding and closing process. He was our advocate the entire time, and I always felt so much more confident when he was present. Overall, I couldn’t possibly recommend Doug any higher. His level of experience, professionalism, knowledge, and true caring made him an invaluable partner in our home-buying experience. My Husband and I worked with Stefani Hutsenpiller at BHURD. SHE WAS AMAZING!!! Let me begin by saying that I was a little weary with the home buying experience not only because it is one of the biggest decisions of your life but also because multiple family members have had bad experiences with realtors (NOT from the BHURD team) during that process. Stefani not only brought excitement to this process for me; she also brought ease, comfort and exceeded my expectations with keeping in communication. She was right there by our side walking us through the sometimes intimidating process of buying a home. Stefani is personable, professional and punctual. The first time I ever was in contact with her she was checking in the day before we were going to meet to look at houses. She had contacted me to ask if there was any questions or if I needed anything before our house hunting date for the next day. I was very impressed with this gesture! It showed she cared and that we were being thought of and considered. The day we went to look at homes she was already there 20 minutes early! Talk about AMAZING! I have multiple examples of similar experiences where she went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations during our home buying processs. Thank you Stefani! Our experience with Bhurd and Doug Winder has been a GREAT experience! As first-time home buyers, we were really nervous about the buying process, but Doug Winder helped us every step of the way and made home buying so simple. We received daily emails of new house listings within our location and price preference. As soon as we saw a house we wanted, Doug always answered our calls- no matter the time of day. He set up and came to every appointment and found out every detail of the home for us. What I like most about Doug is that he was always honest with us. Justin was and continues to be an incredible help in my home buying journey. I met Justin as he and the BHurd team were giving a lunch-and-learn at my work. He was very patient as he waited for me to get things in order so that I could be ready to buy a home, and once I was ready his first and foremost concern was understanding my real reasoning & goals - a huge difference from the other realtors that just wanted to get me in a house & move on. Justin spent hours helping me understand the Utah market, why certain areas would be good for my family, me, and my goals, and then showing me around to potential homes. After finally choosing a home, Justin showed up in the design center (I decided to build a home) and helped me understand which upgrades would show a return on my investment, and which wouldnt. He regularly checked in, sometimes to just reassure me that everything was going as planned & he was there to help if I needed anything. The BHurd team was amazing to work with. My wife and I were purchasing a home long distance and as a result had some reservations going into the process. The BHurd team put all reservations to rest collectively as a team and quickly. On top of it being a long distance purchase we had an abbreviated time line. Justin was quick to call back and answered every single question we sent his way. The communication and exectution from Justin and his team was on point. A few times we only offered the team a few days notice as to when we would be in town to look at homes.
