These reviewers are all a bunch of babies. Ive been going to this post office for over 10 years and yes the lines are long at certain times but what do you expect from a small place with only one employee? This guy has to do everything by himself in an 8 hour period. He takes care of all the incoming mail for the PO Boxes, manages the Box accounts, sorts outgoing mail, and runs the front desk. And the poor guy usually has to stay overtime because he is very good about servicing everyone in line at the moment the clock hits the closing time. He shuffles everyone in and locks the door and completes their transactions. I think he gives great customer service. And those complaining about the limited hours? Its a small, one-man post office! He should only have to work 8 hours a day. Like the the majority of the country. I think its great he gets a nice one hour lunch. Yes its frustrating to go there around 1pm and find it closed, but you learn quickly when the best times to go mail packages are. Its not that hard people. If you dont want a huge line, dont go there half hour before closing time when everyone is off work. And around Christmas, go to Bountiful if possible. Instead of complaining and being negative, just figure out alternatives. North Salt Lake PO is doing the best they can. I mostly dealt with employee Russ at this location before his retirement, who many reviewers have been calling "the old guy" and "rude". He is actually the sweetest man Ive met in town, with a great sense of humor. He lost his wife to cancer and even had some health issues himself, and he is a very accomplished organist. He gets to know the customer personally and lets them get to know him too. He even remembered my name when I bumped into him at the grocery store. And he remembered that I had a daughter who I had only brought in one time and he would ask about her from time to time during my visits to the post office. Maybe if reviewers would care more, they would have learned what a nice and interesting guy he truly is and how hard he worked for us.

Ive lived 3 blocks west of the North Salt Lake Post Office for 24 years. When I first moved here with my family, August 1991, I was very happy, to discover the Post Office was within walking distance from my home. I loved this Branch more in the beginning of my residency here. I still love, for me, the convenience, my home of being so near this Post Office, but really only for its convenience for me, and my family, and not in the time it takes to get my business done in a timely manner. I saved the better part, of my review, for last on purpose. I want to end on a more positive note. Postmaster Muir had always been so kind, and caring, to his customers. He gets to know us, on a personal level, which you wont find anywhere else in the busy area we live in. This is due a lot to the towns beginnings. North Salt Lake started as a small community where everyone knew their neighbors and fostered a family oriented place to live. Muir exemplifies those beginnings and does so in an extremely well fashion. But there are those who arent educated in certain facts, of which, ive learned sure to my, over 2 decades, of residing in North Salt Lake. I feel the #1 fact for anyone who frequents this Branch of the Post Office, that being the branch of North Salt Lake, needs to know is that in my first decade residing here, 1991-2001, this "Timely Manner" issue

I had a notice left at my door for an attempt to deliver that directed me to go to the Bountiful office. The clerk at the Bountiful office apologized and informed me that the carrier made a mistake and Id have to go to the North Salt Lake branch. I have been to the North Salt Lake branch three times and like every time in the past the clerk acted as through helping me was getting in the way of something important. I told him about what had happened and asked if the carrier could be notified. Instead of acknowledging the issue he threw away the notice and said "it happens sometimes".

I generally dont review things, but Im making an exception to help out future customers. This post office is the worst on the planet! They are slow, disrespectful, and rude. They are completely unwilling to go above and beyond to help. I absolutely dread it when an online retailer ships something to me because I know Ill have to jump through the hoops with this horrible post office to get my package. Best advice I can give: shell out a couple extra bucks and do your business through UPS. And avoid this post office if at all possible.

The older guy everyone is complaining about at the North Salt Lake branch has FINALLY RETIRED. Karma will come his way since he took great pleasure in taking his good old time and making customers wait longer than they should have for MANY years. He would of been FIRED many years ago had he worked outside the government. Now there is a GREAT younger guy at this branch who is fast, efficient, friendly and kind. You will not see long lines there anymore so give the North Salt Lake Post Office another chance.

Slowest post office Ive ever encountered. Theres a line going out the door and the worker continues to bullshit with the guy at the counter. On a side note... People, package your items before you get to the post office. If you want to know what the cost is going to be in one box compared to another. Measure and weigh the damn thing and look it up on the usps website. Really!!!

We thought the Bountiful post office was bad. Apparently there is only one postal worker at this location and he makes a point to take his time during and between every customer. You dont dare protest. I will do my postal business in Centerville from now on. They still treat you with respect and with a smile there.

The post office has the worst customer service. I despise the PO. I tried to call this office to track down a package and customer service was just ridiculous. If you ever have the option, ALWAYS go UPS or FedEX, although you pay a little more, its worth EVERY single penny.

OMG! People actually wonder why the US Postal Service is going under? Really? What would happen if FedEX treated their customers like NSL post office treats theirs? Fed Ex would be out of business. They dont seem to understand that the public now has choices!!!

This is not a friendly place to mail packages. I have been treated with horrible customer service each time Ive gone. Not to mention, they have very limited hours.

Theres always a line out the door. Can we get an automated shipping system (like the Bntfl location) and some better hours?

Petty good service here. Only one person at the register so it can be a wait sometimes but overall, great post office.
