I HAVE UPDATED MY REVIEW FROM 3 to 4 STARS. Here is why, read whole thread... 3/01/17 The gym is good, however some pervert has drilled holes in the mens bathroom stalls so he can peek through at others while they are doing their business.if you dont believe me go see for yourself. I reported these holes to staff a year ago but they have yet to fix them. I reported them again recently. If you go to this gym use the bathroom at home. Also the bathrooms are always filthy. Seems like they never get cleaned. Gross. 5/15/17 The have finally fixed this. The bathrooms could still use a remodel. 7/14/17 They just remodeled the "locker room". Had signs everywhere before saying "we heard you" and they were remodeling because of complaints. Initially my wife and I were very excited. They dumped so much money into the remodel. Unfortunately they did not hear us. The main problem was the outdated toilets, and the consistent dirty stall environment. The toilets dont flush effectively (They are the old homestyle toilets), the restroom consistently smells. And gym members sometimes drop explosive bombs (poop) in the toilet that go hours without being cleaned. Vasa You could have saved so much money by replacing the toilets with commercial flushing toilets, adding an air freshener in the restroom, one that pumps out fresh smells, and regularly checking on the bathrooms. All we want is to poop and wash our hands in a clean restroom. Please address this! I do give the gym an "E" for effort Changes are being made which is good. I will also say that since the remodel I have seen a staff member coming and cleaning the restroom which is great, its just not often enough. Yesterday, I went to use the restroom and it was gag city. I had to hold my breath because of the repulsive smell. I usually am not sensitive to smell but man yesterday someone shot a raccoon and let it rot for a few days. Thus the need for an auto air freshener please? I might start bringing my own. I know this thread is a lot but I spend hours here each week I should be able to use a clean air freshed restroom. According to my wife the womens restroom still has a toilet out of order. Something wrong with the plumbing I hear. Overall, I am pleased with many aspects of this gym. Since the change from Golds to Vasa they are trying to make it a welcoming environment for both men and women! Thats important! My wife feels perfectly comfortable working out there now, its no longer a Man meat market! They have replaced many machines with new ones, and are making an effort to repair broken machines, as fast as they can, (A lot of people workout here so breaks are bound to happen). So far the owners are trying to address needs Thank You! The KID CARE there is amazing! The girls that watch our kids are the best! The manager in the kid care "IRIS" is perfect always happy and inviting. She needs a raise! I am completely comfortable leaving my kids there, and the bathrooms in the kid care are always clean and smell fresh lol. (sometime the kids have to potty, so Ive been in there.) Anyway, I will keep you informed on updates to this. Come on Vasa hear us! Our membership is coming up for renewal, and of course we will most likely renew, you are making great progress and I have been a member at this location for years! Keep it up! So far 4 Stars, it will just take a little bit to push me to 5! Ill keep you all informed! Thanks!

I think that a large majority of people see gyms as humanitys method of achieving pack dominance: like male rams charging full-speed at each other, many go to the gym to ascertain who will become the alphas and who will be cast aside. This is a turn-off for a lot of docile betas like me. VASA Fitness will not change that opinion. Every time you go, theres still a large population of huge dudes and super fit girls that have long since established their dominance over the herd. However, despite my lack of dominance, I still really enjoy my time here for the following reasons: 1. Its a really large gym, with a lot of equipment. Even at peak hours (6-8), theres room for you to do SOMETHING. Of course, if the only workouts you do involve 25 lb dumbbells, youll probably have a wait on your hands (GET IT!? Wait on your hands, and dumbbells are weight in your hands!). Get creative. 2. The vast population of the gym ignores the pool, hot tub, steam rooms, racquetball courts, many of the cardio machines, sit-up machines/stands, pull-up/dip bars, and most of the weight machines. Really, create a workout centered around any of those, and its almost like you have a gym to yourself, while everyone waits in line over by the free weights (get it, waits in line!? Because the free weights are all stacked in a line, weights in line... ok Ill stop). 3. The deal for a buddy pass ($6/month) is totally financially unviable for the gym and I feel like Im a criminal mastermind every time I bring my wife, best friend and his wife in for free. For the 4 of us to workout together costs $26/month, all they need to do is bring ID and sign a short waiver every time. Thats ludicrously cheap. Customer reps have explicitly stated that I could bring 30 friends in for free. Get a buddy pass and make some friends. 4. My wife says that the classes kick A. 5. They often have sign-up deals that let you get a membership without paying any of their stupid fees. Just gotta wait for the right time. However, complaint time: 1. The stupid pool STILL doesnt have flags for backstroke. Im going to complain tonight. Its not hard to string up some flags. 2. If you do happen to want to do a set that involves free weights, good luck. Its a madhouse in there, with most of the weights being used by 300 lb guys supersetting 6 workouts at once, who will sniff you out and hunt you down if you take their curl bar that they were planning on using in 10 minutes. 3. On most weeknights, the 1% of basketball superstars snatches the court from 99%ers like me and plays 5v5 full-court. Thats a freaking bummer, because theres 6 hoops in there and they render them all unusable. I want to play 3v3 with my friends or just shoot around after working out, but I cant. 4. They, like seemingly every other gym, have a mountain of fee BS that you have to wade through in order to sign up. Its $19.99/month... but dont forget cancellation fees, a $39.99 "Rate Guarantee Fee", and other nickel and diming.

Worst customer service ever and lack of transparency My husband and I just enrolled for the month to month contract with Vasa Fitness October 20, 2016. The young lady that showed us around is Tamia Vanderbeek. Tamia first gave us a tour of the facilities and was very nice to us, but when we came back later to sign the month to month contract she was not that nice anymore. she seemed to be in a hurry and talked very fast like a robot that is just bored of repeating the same stuff over and over. My husband had to ask her a few times to please repeat what she said again, slower. she made us feel like this was just another business transaction, not like valued customers. Tamia also seemed bored and tired when we asked her questions. Also, Tamia didnt mention that the contract was month to month only after 6 months when we first talk to her. She mentioned this the second time we met her while she was entering our information in the computer. Tamia didnt mention that there is an annual fee of $39.99 every December the first time we talked to her. She mentioned this only the second time while she was enrolling us. This kind of information should be mentioned from the beginning. It reflects bad on the company .These business practices are unprofessional and unethical. Any respectable business know that transparency is very important to keep customer loyalty. Well, if it wasnt becaues we really need to start working out, we probably would have cancelled the contract right there. After Tamia finished enrolling us, she printed the contract and handed it to us. The contract was not very long but we were reading through it quickly in case we had more questions. Tamia seemed to be in a hurry the whole time. Tamia stood up an left us in her cubicle still reading the contract. I assumed she had some important meeting to attend, but she just walked towards a young man who was arranging some Gatorade bottles ona table and started a casual conversation with this man. She seemed no busy at all. It looked like she was in a hurry to go and hang out with her friend at work. In the end, we had to go after her and approach her with another question we had about Vasa fitness being opened during the holidays, again she seemed annoyed that we were asking her. This was one of the worst customer service ever that We have received. In the future, Vasa Fitness needs to do some serious training of their sales people. I recommend to hire people that are more mature, respectful and professional. As for us, this experience made think about canceling the contract right there. It is a bad deal when your own sales people drive customers away. Think about that.
