Made an appointment for my daughter to have her hair died - it was an Ombre with 2 different colors. They assured me thy would be able to do it, told me it would be 98$ with 25% off of that being a new customer to the salon and would only take 2.5 hours to complete. The initial appointment, I had to reschedule but they told me the new person would also be able to accomplish this. We showed up for the appointment. The stylist needs to go back to school - Stephanie, dont schedule with her! She kept having to ask others how to do things. Then 3.5 hours later - NOTHING, it didnt take, there was NO COLOR, NOTHING! Since they had bleached it (not strong enough) they said they would make it right, that rebleaching would kill and break her hair. So they told me they would make it right then applied pure die, it was ONLY 1 color that allegedly took. AT 8:45 pm she finished - so from 2:30-8:45 not only did we NOT get what we were told they could do, but then the price when she rang me out WITH discount was 137.55. About about pooped my pants - the manager of the store argued with me, said it wasnt guaranteed. Told me to dispute it with the salon manager on Monday - well I tried to get ahold of that manager Gina all that week - never did, left 2 messages with NO RETURN phone call. I would advise never using their salon! What a joke! And now only after 1 WEEK -- her hair is nearly her normal blonde!!!!!!! What a waste of time and money!

I, along with 4 other women with money to spend walked into the Farmington, Utah Ulta store and we were approached at the door by a sales associate who proceeded to tell us the store was closing in 2 minutes. Each of us were in a mission to find a few very specific items (I was looking for a new Naked palette, smash box bronzer trio, a new bottle of Armani Si and a new bottle of liquid foundation, others were looking for a curling iron, flat iron and a few other specific items) while we were in the process of picking up these items (a matter of less than a minute!) another associate announced over the loud speaker that the store was closed and we needed to proceed to checkout. While the announcemeant was being made a 3rd associate approached us and asked if we needed help finding anything (clearly NOT wanting to provide us with ANY kind of customer service) but more to move us all right out the door....Every single one of us immediately left the store without a second thought and were absolutely appalled at the service we did not receive. I honestly will never go back to that particular store and I look forward to spending my money at my hometown Ulta store where I receive the service I deserve. Very disappointed.

I always tell myself I wont go back here, but then I go back! The product offering is the best thing as are the marketing emails. Corporate knows what it is doing, to an extent. Benefit brow bar has some awesome ladies, as well as the people who do facials. But - the prestige makeup team is awful. They do not approach me most times Ive been there to ask how they can help. One time I waited near a woman with a question while she assisted someone else. After waiting 10 minutes for her to finish, she walked right past me and helped someone who just walked into the store. One associate told me my hair was super damaged, brittle, coarse, and basically crappy. I was just asking for a recommendation on a good oil. The way she said it was demeaning. I have many other bad experiences there. I go in once or twice a month. Sephora has way better customer service - and they can be super snooty too. Ulta, please take the time to train your employees to have more friendly manners and customer service skills. It will make a difference.

See a lot of bad customer service reviews on this site. I went in for the first time wasnt greeted right away but I was greeted after a few minutes and a lady offered me an ulta bag. Another lady did try to sell me at her Clinique station when I was trying to find Urban Defined products. But she was helpful in showing me tips that I didnt know. Since I am a beginner. Cashier was nice and talkative. I am giving a 3 star review tho because the store wasnt as neat as youd think for a makeup store. And the testers looked like crap and its like non testers were being used as testers. If I buy a new product I dont want it used by some person who might have some disease. Also the lady wanted me to use my finger for one of those fingers lip gloss testers. Um no qtip please. But then if she wants me to use it that way who else has???

The staff isnt very knowledgeable on the product, ESPECIALLY the manager... Which is disappointing to say the least. Im a professional makeup artist and master esthetician, and every single time I go in the store, I hear at least two employees providing customers with false information about products. So, out of principle, after the employee has walked away, I go and introduce myself and give the customer the correct information so that they can make an informed decision. The employees DESPERATELY need to be trained better on their application technique, as well as sanitation laws, and product knowledge. Im also disappointed that they never want to check if an item is in stock, and that they stopped giving out samples of products. However, I am pleased with the selection with the selection of products in Ulta stores.

Excellent Service! About a month ago I went in a bought a Hot Tools curling iron. However, on about the 5th use, the spring in it started getting "creaky" and would sometimes get stuck. This was weird because I know Hot Tools is a great brand. I took it in yesterday to see if they could help me. I didnt have packaging or a receipt! The manager was extremely helpful and nice about it. She had no problem exchanging it for a brand new one! All I had to do was sign a receipt, and I was good to go! Everytime I have gone in there, the employees have been nothing but helpful and sweet with my 500 questions. I wont go anywhere else for beauty supplies. Ulta in Riverdale rocks!!

Avoid this store at all costs. The employees are rude, they wont acknowledge you unless you have at least as much makeup and hair product on as they do, and they will act very put out if you ask them a question. Also, dont expect them to redeem your bonus points to get a discount! Even if you specifically tell them that you want to redeem, they will give you a "oh thats nice" look and ignore you. If you have time, go to the Ulta store at Farmington Station; they are much friendlier there. Get it together, Riverdale Ulta, and maybe check your online reviews once in a while and rethink your customer service.

Nope, never. I went there to get hair touched up and the color smelled like grape. Ulta only uses Pavana, a Redkin product, AFTER she put the color on and I commented on it she said she was using Joico. I went there specifically for Pavana. Not to be duped. Color was gone in a couple of weeks. UPDATE: Hair Tech no longer works there and they only use Redkin colors from now what I understand. There were no steps taken to correct the issue I had with purchasing a specific treatment and being given another. I might try it again, I might not. Until convinced otherwise Im leaving this at one star.
