If I could rate Alex any lower I would. This guy is a real loser and is a psycho. He still thinks that he is in Vietnam where he grew up. He thinks everybody is out to get him and harm him. He really needs psychiatric help. I took my laptop to him to replace the frame around the screen which had cracked. He told me that he had to order the part and I needed to pay 100 dollars upfront before he ordered the part. I paid him the 100 dollars and waited about 3 weeks and then went in there to see if he had gotten it in yet. He told that he had ordered the wrong part and he would send it back and get the right one. Another 3 weeks go by and I go back into Alexs shop and he still does not have it. He always tries to pawn off one of his crappy used laptops that he buys from the school system for 25 dollars he had told me and tries to get you to pay 200 dollars for them by him painting the top of the laptop he thinks he makes it worth 8 times more than he buys them for. Anyway, I get tired of waiting for him to get the part in and go buy a new one at Office Depot for 500 dollars. I then call Alex and told him that I went and got me a new one and for him to send the part back and give me my 100 dollars back. He flipped out on me swearing at me that "no way in hell is he going to give me my money back and that he is a business and cannot give me my money back. He then proceeds to tell me about his childhood in Vietnam and how he was treated and that he is in the USA now and will call the police if I bother him anymore about the 100 dollars that I want back. I will now take him to small claims court and get my money back and also have him pay the 75 dollars filing fee. He is a very strange person, half the time you when you are explaining what is wrong with the computer that needs to be fixed he is just giggling like a dummy. Also NEVER have him talk you into his stupid Avast virus protection. It does not work and every time you take it back to him to get the virus out he charges you 50 or 60 bucks. When he first installed it on my he guarrented it for 3 years and it never worked past a month.. Last year my hard drive crashed and he said he knew how to fix it. I pay him 150 bucks and it would not work. I took it too Office Depot and he had forgotten to do something when fixing the hard rive. The Office Depot repairman told me who ever fixed this did not know what they were doing and I should go back to Alex and get my money back. I never did attempt to get it back. Almost every time he will to do something and you will be back there and he says he forgot to do something, he is very scattered brained as written above. Anyway YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WARNED TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PSYCHO, I ONLY WISHED I HAD SOMEBODY THAT HAD WARNED ME TO STAY AWAY FROM ALEX. You pay for what you get and even if he sometimes offers cheaper rates it is NOT worth it. He thinks that everybody is out to get him. That is why he moves locations so many times, he has to keep running from angry customers who want there money back to his incompetence. I have just filed a complaint with the BBB hopefully that will help. I will see him in small claims court next and then I am done with him.

Just to make it clear.... Most of the positive reviews on Alexs review page are fake with exception Blaines. With that being said, Alex does a decent job at performing repairs related to software and even hardware repairs. The issues with Alex, is the fact that hes in it just for the money. He buys stuff for as low as he can. Then tries to resell it for a "reasonable price". Which isnt a bad strategy, almost every computer shop in salt lake does this. The thing with Alex is he would rather spend $5 less on an extremely old computer. than spend an extra $5 that is double the speed. Hes smart with numbers and finances. But in regards to honesty... he lacks in that department. He paints a computer, and utilizes generic editing software to make his ads on KSL look nice. However, painting a computer does not make it any faster. For the past his quick flip strategy has been mediocre. However, for the near future everything he sells should be pretty decent. Due to the fact, he relies heavily on the local surplus and individual sales market. So all these old pieces of junk he use to sell are no longer sold. They got recycled, or tossed out. So from now on, anything he sells will most likely be an Intel Core 2 Duo or better meaning itll be decent for modern day basics like typing up papers and browsing the web. As oppose to where before he use to sell Pentium Ms which in comparison are about a third of the speed.

First of all, Alex is a cool guy to deal with. Alexs prices are not only down to earth, but also straight forward. Most used computer and repair shops in this city are a joke and the prices are outrageous. Dont think so? Just go to PC Laptops and ask them for prices. Who would be stupid enough to pay 800.00 for a used Dell that is 5 years old?? And to the clown who left a nasty feedback, you need to get a life. Seriously. What difference does it make what country he is from? NONE. Strange dude, NO, he is more normal then 80% of the clowns who live here in Salt Lake Taking anyone to court for a lousy $100.00 is not only a waste of the courts time but also just plain stupid. Only someone who is STRANGE would do this. If I was the judge, I would let him counter sue you for $500.00 just for wasting the courts time and his. I know you Utahns love to sue, but suing for $100.00 just shows how dumb you really are. But then again, you live in a state that the jobs pay poverty wages so I guess your excused. I will be continuing my business with this place. At least I know I am getting what I want and not being sold an $800.00 5 year pile of junk.

Today i was struggling to get my laptop to work and was very frustrated, I had called many of the local Slc, UT computer repair locations and was unable to find any one with the time or patience to help me ... most were to busy and didnt even allow me to express my frustration or problem i was having ...so i remembered a little shop on state street and roughly 1300s. and a fellow named Alex... to my surprise he was very patient and receptive towards my problems he dropped every thing he was doing and helped me out ... the problem i was having was huge for me but simple for him... he was very sympathetic towards my needs and very appeasing... the price was literally half of what i was expecting... so for that being said, i would like to thank Alex publicly and express my gratitude for taking the time to stop and help me...and for this i will alway ask him first ....thanks Alex.
