Not a very good experience. The six weeks expressed to build the single bathroom vanity took over 12 weeks. When I called to get an update on the status, I discovered that Daniel had closed the showroom for a week with no one to answer the phones or respond to customers needs. So I had to go down to the shop, find a shop employee who took me back and sowed me my finished cabinets and informed me that they had been done for weeks. The Installer that Daniel had scheduled to do build the shower pan never showed and never called to reschedule; so I had to have someone else do the work. The final straw was when they scheduled to come and install the cabinet and counter top, Daniel called 30 minutes after there scheduled arrival time and told me that there installer was on vacation and they could not install the cabinets for over a week. If you are going to use this company, have very low expectations on any sort of schedule. From what I can tell, the cabinets are OK quality and are priced reasonably but the wasted time, frustration and aggravation, made the value very low. With all the cabinet design companies out there, you should look for someone better.

Daniel Ivan presented himself as an artisan and professional but when it came time to provide a quality product, he did not deliver. We spent a very large sum with Daniel on cabinets, and although they look pretty good from the outside, closer inspection reveals that 98% of the cabinet doors rattle and vibrate when you shut them. They also seem very lightweight and "cheap" for lack of a better term, and many are warped. We have asked Daniel to fix this problem numerous times and he iterates that they are the same cabinets he has in his house and that there is nothing he can do--this is his BEST work. Surprised to find he has such low standards for himself as well as his customers. I investigated extensively to see if it was just me being picky; I found several installations of Peppertree Cabinets in the shaker style that do not warp and do not rattle at all on closure. Daniel is arrogant and provides an inferior product--I have reported him to the BBB and wuold never recommend him to anyone or ever do business with him again.

We had another cabinet maker walk off our job, claiming that the delay in our project (a typical delay in construction projects) had made it uneconomical for them to complete the work (despite keeping the 50% downpayment). We reached out to many other cabinet makers, but no one wanted to pick-up where someone else had left off. Best Custom Cabinets (BCC) stepped in and offered a reasonable hourly rate and schedule to complete the job. BCC did a great job. The workmanship was top notch -- both in the shop work and install work. The owner was courteous, attentive and responsive; and the workers/installers were diligent, timely, and respectful. BCC bailed us out of a tough situation, and they did exactly what they said they were going to do, on time, and according to the pricing terms we agreed to. What more could one ask for? If you know what you want -- or are willing to go through the details -- then BCC will deliver and meet or exceed your expectations. Overall, we had a great experience with BCC.

I worked as a cabinet maker for several years before completing my undergraduate and graduate educations and have a well-trained sense for quality woodworking. As a professional, I have also worked with Best Custom Cabinets for several years and know its owner, Daniel Ivan, personally. Accordingly, I am familiar with work Best Custom Cabinets has done on a number of projects. I also had Best Custom Cabinets do the granite stonework for the fireplace and hearth in my own home. All of the work Best Custom Cabinets has done that I have observed or inspected including the work in my own home has been of the utmost quality. I also know Mr. Ivan to be a reasonable man of high integrity. So, without hesitation, I can whole-heartedly recommend Best Custom Cabinets for any woodworking, tile or stone work.

I have worked with Daniel and BCC since 2002 when a client introduced me to Daniel as his cabinetmaker. I was already using another cabinetmaker at the time I was concerned to work with a sub-contractor that I had no previous experience with. The work that BCC did for that job was exceptional and Daniels knowledge in both cabinetmaking and client management were instrumental in completing the job on-time and on-budget. I have used BCC on multitude of projects since then and I have been pleased with each and every one of those projects. Daniel continues to be helpful in resolving tough room layouts and the manufacturing staff is always there to help with complicated projects. I will continue to use and recommend BCC in the future. We were looking for a very specific design for our new office furniture and when we discovered how expensive finding something similar was at furniture stores, we decided to check out having it built. We spoke with the owner and they were able to make exactly what we wanted for a better price and even stained it to match our kitchen cabinets perfectly. It was built fairly quickly, and the installation was smooth. We get many compliments on our built-in office. Highly recommended!
