I looked up Alterations in SLC, Utah and found this place, I chose to go to his place because he had so many stars and he was close. I had bought a hoodie at a store that was to large, but it was the only one left and I loved it. All I needed was him to cut off a few inches and hem the bottom. That would make it work. I asked how much, he said never mind, I could pay when I picked up my top. He could see I had a Southern California Telephone number. He said oh you are not from around here, I said I was born in Utah. He was supposed to call me when done, he did not, I called him. I was charged $21.07. I asked him why such a high price. He told me know one wants to do that kind of job I should have shopped around. I told him if I had a serger I could have done it. I told him my Tailor in Southern California, would not have charged me that. He said then you need to go back to Southern California. I said I will pay his fee but I would not be returning. I also told him the cost of living in Southern California was higher than Utah, and if no one wants to cut off a few inches and make a new hem, he should have told me. I would have gone somewhere else, and I should of and his price to do such a simple cut and hem. DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY!

This was my first experience getting a shirt tailored. I had a shirt thats extremely wide, and way too baggy. At the first tailor, he said "it is impossible to fix it to dig your size, thats just how is works." I thought, "OK. Thats his things work. But, why bit give it a try at one more tailor." So I went to the nearest tailor, which happens to be at this location. The owner, Charle kindly welcomed, and without thinking, answered its possible. Now the shirt had a PERFECT fit!! And affordable price for a college student like me. Sides: $22/16

I have been going to Charlie for 17 years. This man is the best tailor I have ever used. He does quality work, charges way too little for the work he does and is always done on time. If you need it rush hell get it done. Ive used him for military uniforms, scout uniforms and suits and he does it all. Do not hesitate to use him. He even uses a type writer to keep track of his work! Charlie is a true master of his craft.

Very rude!!! I called to confirm the closing time today. He told me he closed at one, mumbled something else and hung up. I called back thinking we got disconnected and he said "you call back again with more questions what do you want?" I was flabbergasted Ive never experienced such horrible customer service I was very disappointed considering the reviews for the most part are really good.

I work for the airlines and was only in Salt Lake City for the night. During my flight I ripped my dress pretty badly and needed it fixed immediately! I brought my dress to him around 4:30 pm and by 5:00 pm he called me to come pick it up. He did an amazing job and he was nice enough to sew it for me on such short notice. Highly recommend him! Thanks again Charlie, youre the best!

Charlie is old school and his work is old school too, in a good way. Hes on time, he does a good job, and he charges fair prices. Ive only used him for military adjustments and he does a great job every time. If youre in an extra rush to get something done, just give him a small tip and hell get it done when you need it. He knows the military uniforms well.

Dont go anywhere else for military alterations. Cheap, fast, and to regulation. The building looks like a mess and often Charlie chooses not to answer questions like how much it will cost and when it will be done, so Ive gone elsewhere several times and regretted it every time. Charlie has fixed other tailors mistakes and scolded me a time or two.

Came in to drop off a comforter. He explained that its expensive to dry clean comforters because it requires a lot of chemicals. Unfortunately out of my budget but he gave me instructions on how to wash it at home. Very sweet guy. Look forwarded to supporting a small, local business like this one in the future.

Absolutely great job! I took in a dress with lace overlay that needed taking in at the bodice and Charlie did a wonderful job. It fits like a glove. Quick service and great price. I was nervous since a lot of the previous reviews were for uniforms and mens apparel but was not disappointed.

Charlie is the best in the business, when it comes specifically to, military uniforms. A few minutes in and out, and within days he will call you to tell you its done. Ive never had to worry about giving him or having him re-fix items because of regulations. He is savvy and does it right.

Charlie is so great! I had another tailor hem a pair of skinny jeans, but they didnt do the best job, and they didnt pull the sides in to make them tight again. I brought them to Charlie and he fixed them and for one third of the price that I paid the other tailor. I highly recommend him.

Googled SLC tailors because Nordstroms was absolutely garbage. Found United Tailors, Charlie knows exactly how to treat customers. Simple hemming but done way faster than anticipated and cheaper and no issues at all.

Dropped off 2 pairs of pants, had them back the next day for only 30 bucks. Charlie is a real funny guy who has been doing this in Salt Lake City since the 70s. Definitely going back with some more clothes!
