I sent this email to the corporate office as well as the location - They did not even bother to respond. I debated weather or not to email you but decided after sharing this experience with several of my friends and family you deserved to know. I have been a member with Golds/VASA for well over a year. The company I was previous employed with offered a corporate membership. Recently I have changed employment and when I tried to check in yesterday I was told my membership had been cancelled. I thought, no big deal, explained to the front desk man that I would just like to move over to a month to month because I would be moving soon anyway. He requested I follow him into an office to review my "options" at which point I explained, no need for options, I just want a month to month and will call you or bring in my credit card next visit to be on file. As it turns out what I wanted as your customer was not an option. My "option" to continue my membership of over a year, was not an option at all. My "options" as presented to me were to: buy a brand new membership for a fee, then a monthly fee and a cancellation fee on top of that. Needless to say I picked up my things and left. I am floored that for business that relies on customer service and experience to build and sustain its business that I, a long standing customer, was declined what I wanted. I think we are both aware that SLC is a buyers market when it comes to selecting a gym. My request to continue paying for access on my current membership on a month to month basis should have been a super simple exchange and good customer experience. Instead I walked away thinking VASA really does not want my business. I hope you can take my experience and rethink your renewal/cancellation policy and model. I also hope you can work with your staff to improve another customers feelings and impressions of VASA fitness.

I understand for the money, you arent getting extravagant. But there are some issues with this place that are not appealing. For one, there are always at least 5-10 cardio machines down at a time. There seems to be no urgency in getting these fixed. One of the main guys at the front is a mess to deal with. Both me and my friends have had issues with him during our introductory tours. He only gives you about half the attention needed during a tour that is supposed to be made to picture how you would operate at a gym like this. The other half of his attention is fixated on his own appearance or the girls ass who just walked by. And why is it a selling point to show me all the mirrors and lighting for me to take selfies? Sorry, but Im not near as that self-centered. The other thing that bothers me about this place is the allowance of women to stroll around with skimpy clothing around the gym. Me, Im a straight male. But I also know that allowing women to do this in a blatant manner is disrespectful to the rest of the gym community. Many of the people I know there feel intimidated by this because even though it isnt meant to shame anyone, it is more difficult to gain self confidence when these women are flaunting everything out in front of you. Some sort of a dress code needs to be enforced, because this is not a friendly gym environment to the majority of the attendees. The movie cinema is a cool addition that I do appreciate, which is the only reason why I would give them 2 stars.

They will lie to you and take your money. They lied to me over and over again. I signed up for the trainer and I told them I didnt wanted it after being with him one time because it was a bs! The person who signed me up said it would be okay since i had just been with the trainer once. But after few months I get this mail saying I need to pay for it. And I went and talked to them and said I also wannet to cancel my membership they said it would be okay. And it would go away from my account. But after months that i havent been a member of the gym. I get a mail thats triple the amount and saying I need to pay. I talked to them said its not them now and I need to call the customer service. I called them and the first person said if the person remembers that I had asked them to cancel it. It would work out. Then I go and try to talk to the person that said he would cancel it. But they didnt even let me talk to him. They were being rude. So I called the customer service again and the other person that picked up this time said that they cant help me at all. Even if the person that I asked to cancel my membership remembers it. They just cheated me. And I called the associates the person who picks up is an straight up joker. He wont give you any information. I asked if I could come and discuss the issue and let me look at all the paper work of why I am paying and why its so damn high. But they wont even let me do that. They are just liars and will cheat you!!

I was tempted to sign up. Seemed like a decent deal. Then I read the contract. They are running the same old Golds Gym bait and switch game. Their "Month to Month" agreement, is not month to month at all. It says a lot about a company if they wont let you read a contract without providing a credit card number first. Also the "month to month" part? If you try it for a month and dont want to pay for the second month, they charge you an early cancellation fee. Thats not month to month by any definition. That cancellation fee, by the way, is MORE than the monthly membership fee. Youre paying for that second month whether you want to or not. I give them a credit card number, and they want me to sign a promissory note, which is really a revolving credit agreement, which is completely unnecessary since I had to provide a credit card number before they would even let me read the contract. You are also agreeing to give them direct access to your bank account, which you can of course revoke, but if you do, they are going to charge an additional $10 per month. If this were not enough, they tack on another $39 annual fee on top of that. (which is tons better than getting hit with the $39 annual fee and the $49 enrollment fee, which they graciously waived on the "month to month" offer.) As excited as I was to try out a new gym, until the terms dramatically change, I will not be doing business with them.

The mirror in the womans area is cracked. The equipment in the movie room is all broken. The trainers dont know how to adapt a program for each individual customer so l got throw up sick for four days following a week excercise routine because they didnt tailor it for me. You can just do one cookie cutter routine, and give that to all your customers but they do here. When l asked the front desk to turn up the volume on the movie room or just to change the movie all together they wont. There is no customer service level. One day l forgot to bring a shirt but remembered everything else. When l asked if l could have a shirt from lost or found they said only if we get something out of it. Give me a reference for someone in your family l can call to join our gym. This was the manager and district manager who responded that way. They were unwilling to help unless they got something out of it. Wow!! Might I suggest going else where . . .
