Been going to this Location since July and I have to say the staff is very friendly. Never had a problem there and yes, they are always cleaning something so thats nice. I have one tiny beef with planet fitness philosophy, and that is calling themselves a "Judgment Free Zone"... Lets get real here, if you dont tolerate a certain type of tank top or someone who grunts to get a rep out, YOURE JUDGING and youre being a hypocrite. Thankfully, this location doesnt seem to conform to that ridiculous idea from what Ive seen. I for one am a grunter. Not to be loud and noticeable, but because hard work is hard and IT HURTS. I want to see the person who came up with that philosophy get poked with a branding iron and stay quiet, because thats the pain you feel some times when getting reps out. Trust me, I dont misunderstand the intention behind the philosophy... There are legit people who try to draw attention to themselves by being obnoxiously loud, but find a way to say whats true, not hypocritical. I know this location is just conforming to Franchise code, so I cant strike them any stars for following it. Another positive about this gym is they let you park your motorcycle in front on the sidewalk, which is great for those of us who ride and like to keep an eye on our bikes. Bike theft sucks and a gym parking lot is an easy way to say "Ill be here for long enough for you to take this." Kenna, the free personal trainer, is super nice and will challenge and encourage you when you utilize her. They also have a spreadsheet available so you can analyze the crowded times and avoid them if your schedule allows. One of the only flaws I see here, as mentioned by another reviewer, is that they dont have vending machines with protein or healthy pick me ups. I have to bring my own just in case I get into trouble physically. There are great tasting, horrible food alternatives just outside in the parking lot and Ive had to use them because there was nothing on offer inside the gym. Last thing I want to say, which is along the lines of the previous statement, is that I think they should ditch the candy bowl at the front counter. I am never tempted by it as I weened myself off of craving stuff like that long ago, but I think it might pose a serious issue with people who are already struggling to eat right and put those things aside. I know how easy it is to work hard and then rationalize that you "Deserve" something for all the hard work you did, but in my experience, I see people rewarding themselves beyond the work they did as a standard, and junk food is the number one way it happens. For all I know, that candy bowl and lack of vending machine stock might be protocol as well, but I gotta take a star off for it regardless. Its nothing personal.

I will first say that for the cost this is a good place to start for people that want to work out without the hype of the better know gyms. During my membership it was never overcrowded except in the early mornings and after 5. We decided to cancel our membership in March and were informed by a staff member there that it would be taken care of. I find our months later that the information provided to me by the staff member was incorrect and that our membership had never been canceled. You would think that this is a small issue, however this small town feeling gym acts just like the big gyms. Every month they not only charge you for your monthly membership, but if you are like me and concerned that once you cancel a automatic payment with a company you contact your bank and insure that they no longer have access to your funds, you are in for a surprise. Planet Fitness will charge you a addition $10.00 per month per member. So that balance will double right away. I strongly urge anyone to avoid this company since they either by design or incompetence will take advantage of it members to maximize profits.

They will secretly auto-renew your contract and you have to pay a cancelation fee to cancel. I have a black card membership and I also go to vasa. I honestly only use planet fitness for the tanning bed now because theyre equipment is very low quality and actually not very safe. The treadmill turns to max at random sometimes and my cousin got a concussion. He was in the hospital for 2 days. The sickening thing is you can still see his blood on the machine. The machine still hasnt been wiped down. They sad thing is that planet fitness markets themselves to be the cheap and safe solution, but Ive both gotten more injuries due to bad equipment and Ive payed way more at planet fitness than I have at Vasa when you factor in all the hidden "maintenance" fees and "dealer" fees.

My wife and i have been planning on going here for some time. I enrolled a few months ago, but she was a little more hesitant about moving over from VASA. When I finally got her to go with me to try it out they told her that there is no way to try the gym before you sign up. The only way to do so is to pay 20$ for a one time use. (20$ is the price for the most expensive pass!) they would not budge and my wife was left with either the choice to go home and come back and pick me up or wait for me to do my workout and sit in the car. In the end we both ended up going home. This is an example of crappy customer service. What kind of gym doesnt let you try it out at least once before you get locked into an agreement? WHAT A JOKE

I am literally looking for places and comparing them and so I called this location and got someone named Kayla who sounded very bored of the idea of helping me. I explained that I used to have a membership through someone else and that I was looking into getting my own membership and all she could focus on was that there used to be a membership and insisted on looking up the membership under the name of someone I dont even talk to anymore. And then when I was asking about the perks and pricing and everything she just sounded bored as hell about it like if shed heard these questions 1 million times and Im sure she has but you dont need to treat someone like that when theyre looking into getting your premium card

I accidentally directed a complaint about Golds Gym, Taylorsville to this gym. They immediately responded, started investigating and wanted to make things right even though it wasnt their fault. Heres my response to them: " I want to take a second to also commend you. You responded to this quickly and wanted to get to the bottom of it and even to help. That shows what kind of people you really are. Thank you for being such good people and so willing to rectify this kind of thing. The world needs more people like that. I hope you can forgive me for the confusion." These are good people who deserve a shot at your business.

The staff is phenomenal, very polite. I signed in and was given a full tour of the facility, programs they offer, good run down of the equipment. It seems to be a good atmosphere, variety of people, Staff makes everyone feel welcome. I was given the full details on the membership options, payment options and early termination options. I feel I was not misled in any way. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness, weight loss, strength training, etc. The equipment is on par, what I expect to see, functions well, they keep it clean. I am very happy with Planet Fitness.
