When you first walk in, you are greeted by a little seating area with cracked leather chairs right next to a conference room chair standing over some hazard tape guarding what can only be assumed to be a crime scene. It has been there for weeks, so I would assume a piece of missing machinery or a couple bolts sticking out of the ground would be easily remedied... the only conclusion, someone was murdered. This is just the start of the journey down the rabbit hole of germaphobia and just plain disgusting. Quite a few machines pads are worn out... I tried doing some leg extensions to be thwarted by the extremely rough pad rubbing against my legs... I didnt really mind, mostly because I hate leg days. I mean, have you tried sitting on a toilet after a leg work out? Holly Cow! Just give me an adult diaper and call it good. There are like two sanitation stations, that are always empty. So good luck cleaning the last guys swass off any machine you plan to use. Also, it would be ideal to have a couple garbage cans in some convenient locations. Next, I dare you to attempt to use the drinking fountains! It took me three tries, THREE, to get a working drinking fountain! One of them has been out of order for weeks!!! Hmm... Maybe I will go use the punching bag... oh, never mind... It looks like a 1920s mobster got to it first. They cut it down and then proceeded to kick it on the ground. Yup, not using that today. Hope he had good life insurance. Another question I would like to ask of VASA. Did you feed all of your weight plates to the Rancor before you placed them in your gym? They probably weigh about five pounds less than you would think from all the rubber missing. Thats OK too I guess, I can look like I am lifting more weights that I really am. Gotta impress the ladies. I dont mean to sound rude, but in the words of Jeremy Clarkson, "How Hard Can It Be?" Of course eventually you will need to expel your dinner from last night from your body. This usually entails using the toilet facilities. I dont have a lot of expectations, just a clean place to sit, and something to wipe the dingle-berries from my back side. However, this morning at 6:00 I had neither. Someone before me must have both hovered and then used paper towels to wipe with, so I pinched it off. YOU WERE OUT OF BUTT PAPER IN ALL OF YOUR STALLS AT 6:00 AM! HOW?! Unless you have someone that really needed it of course, that I can understand. I would hate to accuse your housekeeping staff of not doing their job if Jabba the Hutt was the last one to use the restroom. After telling my body it was OK to hold in the feces that so desperately wanted to come out and that we would just have to prairie-dog it in the car on the way to work, I found myself wanting to just relax in the Steam room. Yet another mistake... I found myself walking into a the room and stepping on a shard of broken tile that had not been swept up. Hobbling to the bench for a sit down to find it looked to be covered in the beginning stages of black mold. Needless to say, I hobbled back out of the room of death and made my way to the showers... A clean place right? WRONG! Someone must have been making a sandwich in the stall I chose. It looked like they had tried and failed to open a packet of mayonnaise and it had ejected onto the stall wall. Desperate to get out of there, I tried using the soap, that was empty also! The guy making the sandwich must have used it all. Bottom line, Planet Fitness is cheaper and in much better condition. That is my reasoning for one star.

Hey my name is Honey and I moved here from San Diego and needed a Gym. I checked all the local gyms in the area. Originally I had an appointment with Vasa on 3500 south. They scheduled a meet and greet and I was ready to get started. When I walked in to 3500 south they didnt know anything about my inquiry. I wasnt impressed. So I left and a couple days later I checked out the gym on 5345 4015 west in Taylorsville. They were so nice and greeted me and explained how easy it was to get started. While I was signing the paperwork I got a call from 3500 south about my meeting they had missed with me. I laughed hard because they lost me due to the fact that they didnt follow up with me. 1st impressions are everything. The payment plan was really easy. They were laid back.. Very clean facility. Steady flow of traffic. Etc. They were very helpful in all the questions about the machines. I loved it. I had to go out of town on business for a couple of weeks that turned into a couple of months and when their collection ,department called I was relieved they were very nice. I paid my bill and I thought I had closed my account and when I returned I could pick up where I left off. I guess I got that confused because when I returned I just called them and they said my account had been delinquent and I owed for months I had not been there and I could have put it on hold. I spoke with Ashley Richards. Who was very kind in explaining the charges. I was upset because I wanted to return to vasa and did not want to pay for the months I didnt even use. I asked to contact corporate and she said that she would try and contact them for the misunderstanding.. She called me back within 20minutes and said that my charges were taken care of I did have to pay the basic charges and the yearly but that she took care of the rest. I was really impressed with her commitment not only to her company but to us as the customer. I loved vasa before and people like Ashley working for them represents the company in a very honest and committed way. I highly recommend going to this location. Every time I come in they are always so nice and professional. When we have many businesses now with a lack of customer service and care its great to have a place to support that takes care of the customer, and shows that they want your business. So thank you to Ashley Richards and her whole team. They say when a company is doing great its usually a reflection of the leader and I would definitely say she has taught them all very well. Thank you again. Ill be in tomorrow..

I decided to switch gyms because my new employment has a work out facility. I was on a month-to-month contract with Golds gym that I was told would stay the same when the switch to VASA happened. I did a month-to-month contract to avoid the hidden fees that Golds (and now VASA) are notorious for. I was charged for the last month of my membership, which I am happy to pay, but got charged a "rate guarantee fee" out of no where. This was not communicated to me that there was a fee of any kind when I was cancelling, or any of the 2015 calendar year. The VASA staff could not give me a straight answer when I tried to dispute it. Why was I just now being charged $40 for a rate guarantee? I was cancelling my $20 a month membership and you choose to ding me with an extra 2 months worth membership for a guarantee that Im not even going to need/use?! Not good business practice. Not only will I never return to your facilities but would never recommend you to someone asking about work out facilities. I worked out at the Golds gym for all of 2014 and really enjoyed my path to physical fitness. Golds was a run down hole in the wall but you knew to expect that and went for the competitive price and equipment selection. With VASA taking over the expectation was raised. Updates to fitness clubs were promised but carried out at a remarkably slow pace, the staff turned into self-entitled jerks, and leaving is still the same surprise of no explanation on why youre all of a sudden paying fees. VASA is Golds with higher promises and lower delivery.
