B to B+ for food D for service At first impression. El Paisa had a great ambiance of Mexico, and feel of the place. Live singer was great and help set the feel. Place was clean and comfortable seatings, and Food was good. Service was not on par and lacking. Girl friend and I went for dinner on Monday (12/26/16) around 5:30. The place was somewhat empty at that time. We walked in guessing if we seated ourselves or Waite to be seated because nobody was at front or at the cashiers place. Waitresses that was around just looked at us as they went in and out of the kitchen. Stood for a bit and started to seat ourselves lol. Long story short. They took our 2 orders (mixed fajitas, and Molcajete). It took a bit to get the food, and they brought out mixed fajitas first with out tortillas or silverwares. Fajitas was getting cold as we sat there waiting for my Molcajete, silverwares and tortillas. They finally brought out the Molcajete, and forgot the tortillas and silverwares. Waited(10min) for a bit hoping theyd come back with the missing items, but i ended up going to front and asked for it. Lol They looked at me like I ate all the tortillas. Finished eating and plates was picked up, but never asked if we needed boxes to go, and no checks. Went up asked for boxs and it took 3 employees to get me a box. Packed up and went up to pay, and stood there and waited (seems to be for a while) for a cashiers to acknowledge me and pay. Next time Ill probably order it to go instead of dine in.

Food wise, I had been recommended here but they always told me that the service was extremely bad. The food is great and I love the live music. I absolutely love the place but strongly disliked the service (the younger girls). Their behavior is fake. When we arrived (5 people) the girl sat us next to the door. We asked if we could be moved to a table behind us since there was more room but she got annoyed and said she couldnt because other people would sit there. we were crammed, and didnt bother to take any of it empty plates. We asked for a birthday cheesecake but she only brought the candle and went to complain to her friend on how needy we were. She was a couple feet away and could hear everything clearly. The whole time it was awful and I just wanted to get out of there. On a side note, From all 3 times that Ive been to it, only had one good server (an older lady, she was fantastic and energetic). I cant remember her name, but she would recommend foods and drinks. she would also be checking on us on a decent amount of time. The spicy camarones a la diabla, piña colada and oysters were delicious. The only place that Ive truly love the food and only reason why I try to go here and there. Still hope I get someone like that lady next time.

SCREW THIS NASTY RESTAURANT!!! MY FIANCEE AND I WENT TO THEM TO CATER OUR WEDDING 3 MONTHS EARLY. WE WERE GIVEN A PRICE AND WE REQUESTED A CONTRACT AND OFFERED TO PAY A DEPOSIT. THE OWNER SAID "DONT WORRY ABOUT IT,YOU CAN PAY THE WEEK OF THE WEDDING OR THE SAME DAY...TRUST ME." ...THEN HE EMAILS ME A LIST OF WHAT WE ORDERED FOR DINNER AND THATS ALL. NO OFFICIAL PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT, BUT I THOUGHT "THEYRE A RESTAURANT AND THE OWNER HIMSELF GUARANTEED HIS SERVICE, IT WILL BE FINE. TURNS OUT 1 MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING WE GO TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS SET WITH THE VENUE AND FIND OUT THE RESTAURANTS HASNT SENT ANY OF THE PAPERWORK REQUIRED SO WE GO TO THE RESTAURANT AND WE ARE TOLD BY HIS "CATERING MANAGER" THAT THEY CANT DO OUR CATERING BECAUSE ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT AT THE PRICE WE WERE PREVIOUSLY GIVEN AND THEY DIDNT HAVE ALL THE INSPECTION PAPERWORK FOR OUR VENUE EITHER SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN CLOSED DOWN TWICE FOR NOT PASSING THEIR HEALTH INSPECTIONS !!!! NASTY!!!. FREAKING JERKS!!! THEY COULDNT EVEN CALL US AHEAD OF TIME AND OBVIOUSLY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND DONT MIND TO SCREWING THEM OVER EVEN IF ITS FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE. THE OWNER HIMSELF NEVER EVEN CALLED TO APOLOGIZE. I WILL NEVER AGAIN GO THERE.

I called to make a reservation for 20 people- DESPITE the reviews of bad service here. I figured Id give them a chance. They told me that they were not taking reservations for all of next week due to 5 de Mayo. When I asked if i should just show up with my group, I was asked to hold. A different person came on the phone and I asked again, she said that reservations are full. I asked for clarification on this as it would have different implications for my group- she said she could not take our group. She did not ask me what time, she did not suggest showing up and risking the wait- nothing. I said i would take my business somewhere else and she said "ok." I do not and have never worked in a restaurant, but I bet management would like a group of people looking to eat and buy fancy drinks to show up and SPEND $. I can think of at least 2 or 3 ways I would have tried to convince a group to show up and do business. Perhaps I should have asked in english? I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere. If the customer service was bad even to try for a reservation, I can imagine what its like in person!

Service leaves some to be desired! The molcajete is amazing and unique - keeps me going back - but when I do go it is only for lunch service. If you go to dinner at this establishment be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait. Be sure that you have everything you need when the server brings the food, you will be waiting for their return, waiting, waiting, waiting. Recently I experienced a dinner service where the waitress brought me corn opposed to the flour tortillas I had requested, after waiting, and waiting and waiting, and waiting the waitress returned and I asked for replacement tortillas - after waiting, and waiting, and waiting I finally received half of the tortillas the plate was to come with, when I asked the waitress (after again waiting for her return for 10+ minutes) she responded that I had "eaten" the corn tortillas, I called her attention to the chip basket in the center of the table holding the rejected incorrect tortillas. We ended up eating the food without the tortillas after having been at the dinner table for well over an hour as this point.

TERRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! DISAPPOINTING!! AWFUL!! Reservation was made for 630pm. They had us down for 7pm. Server came 20min after to ask for drinks. Food came 45 minutes later and some of us were done eating and some still waiting for their food. Food came but was all wrong. We asked to split the checks at the beginning and were told "no problem" but there was only one check and they over changed us. Thats right, they did not want to split because that way they wouldnt be able to over charge. We tried to have them fix it but they insisted we had extra drinks. NO. WE DIDNT. After we tried to pay with couple of different cards, they added more on the cards and ended up paying even more than what the check said. The cashier did not even know why the amounts did not match!!!!! PEOPLE please check your check and make sure this does not happen to you. I guess they do this when they can because they know people drinks and get drunk and dont check.
