I ordered something from Amazon that was supposed to arrive at my house December 1. After it arrived at this facility, I was told that there was a delay and it wouldnt be delivered for a day or two. Since I live 20 minutes away, I called customer service and asked them to hold the package at this facility so that I could pick it up. They ordered the package held and i received confirmation that I could pick it up. After arriving at the facility, I was first met by a woman who barely knew how to use the computer system thats her job to know. She told me the package was in Baltimore (where it started). I told her that it was in Alexandria and had been given confirmation that I could pick the package up. Her coworker came over and showed her that the package was marked as physically here. The first woman mulled over this information for a few minutes as if contemplating the meaning of the word physical. The second woman came back and told me that I could not pick up my package. I told her that didnt make any sense because I was told that I could pick my package up from this location and since it was scanned at the Alexandria facility, it was clearly there. A third employee came over and started giving the excuse that they have a lot of packages. I told him that I didnt understand why I couldnt get my one package since I had already been told by UPS that I could. The second woman suddenly exclaims to nobody in particular to get a manager. Everyone disappears into the back and I wait 20 minutes while listening to another employee in the back scream at her coworkers about a christmas tree. Finally, the second woman comes back and is talking to someone on the phone. She asks for my address, refers to me as some white guy to the person on the other end of the phone line and then informs me that they cant help me because my package is on some tractor trailer (how? it was already scanned in). She says that I can come pick it up tomorrow. I ask if they can just deliver it since the only reason I came to pick it up was to get it that day (remember, it would have been delivered a day or two late anyways). She says that yes, it will be delivered. The next day I receive a message that my package is ready for pickup in Alexandria. When I call customer service they first tell me it cant be delivered because you can only modify the delivery once (like placing a hold on it). I told her that they wouldnt give me the package when I went to pick it up and that they had said they would deliver it. Im still waiting. This place is the worst. You have one job and you cant even do that. Update: If you ever believe that UPS cant dissapoint you any more, you would be wrong. UPS has no depths to their incompetence and greed. After calling to have the package delivered and talking to someone at this location who said that it would go out the next day, I wait over the weekend only to find that that request was never put into the system. Thank you for lying to me, random UPS employee. Its too bad that will not find its way onto your performance evaluation since most businesses dont take kindly to lying. After calling customer service again to get my package delievered to me (the only function of UPS) I am now told that that will cost $18. Are you kidding me? Not only does UPS suffer from incompetence, they also have the audacity to charge the customer extra to cover their own failings as a company.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. It is July 28th 2015 and I had an interview for a job with them today and heres the events that took place: I applied for a job with these guys online1-2 weeks ago. I received an Email from them a few days ago which was quite Vague and somewhat unprofessional, but the email told me to arrive at the location at 10 am on either Monday the 27th, or the coinciding Tuesday, or Wednesday at which point I figured out that this was a mass interview type scenario and no need to schedule a specific day. The email also stated that I could wear jeans or even sweatpants? Again, somewhat unprofessional in my opinion but I didnt ask any questions and decided to head up there (an hour and a half away through traffic) on Tuesday. When I arrived, I walked in to the customer service office and told them I was there for an interview, the gentleman hastily walked me back into the wear-house and pointed a direction and said it was "door P8 all the way up top" after a short time looking I discovered that it was door "PED-8" and walked up to an area with small hallways and offices. When I found the first person who was leisurely hanging in one of the doorways, I told him that I was there for an interview. He proceeded to knock on one of the human resources offices and peeked in and said "theres a guy here for you." The HR representative then responded "what does he want?" He answered back with, "I dont know." She then told him to just have me wait outside. After waiting for a short time she opened the office door with 5-8 other people spilling out of the office and staring at me and asked why I was there. I told her I applied online and received an email to come in at 10 am at which point she informed me that the interview was at 9 and not 10. She then blamed somebody else for giving false information and asked if I could come back tomorrow at 9. At this point Ive made the decision that this isnt somewhere that I want to work or do any business with at all so I informed her that I have another interview with FedEx the next day at 9 which coincidentally is completely true. She somewhat jokingly said "and youre just going to tell me you have an interview with FedEx?!" She then asked me if I brought my driving record (which was never spoken of in the email) to which I responded that I didnt and that the email was quite vague (mind you, all of these other people and myself are crammed in this small hallway while everyone is just staring at me like im an idiot). She proceeded to tell me that if I wanted, I could get my driving record and bring it back up to her tomorrow at 9 am... I just smiled and left. No thank you, I will not be working for a company this unprofessional nor will i be giving them any more of my business and will highly recommend to the rest of my friends and family to use any other carrier than UPS. Good riddance! I am not a professional writer so please excuse the grammar and punctuation flaws because I am sure they are present.

I was the fifth person in line on a Saturday and after an hour and a half of waiting, they still cant find my package. If the 1-800-PICKUPS says its there for pick up, the workers have a 50/50 shot of that being true. Avoid this place like the plague! The manager was yelling at costumers in mass and blaming the 800 number in an attempt to cover the laziness and the extreme lack of urgency of the workers. I expect this from a government postal service but not UPS. UPS FIX THIS DISTRIBUTION CENTER! The worst part is I asked them to change from pick up to delivery. They couldnt even get that right. I actually have to go back. Not looking forward to wasting another day for a package I paid way to much to ship.
