My 14 year old son took an introductory Parkour class and loved it not only because of the physical exercise, but because the gym owners and teachers were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and encouraging. He is not a gymnast, but teachers make the activities look fun, and he is developing the ability and strength to do “cats”, jumps, and rolls in a very enjoyable way. As a mom, I love that my son has found an activity that he looks forward to do and motivates him to finish his homework on time so he can do Parkour. The 10 class punch card with no time limitation gives us the flexibility to go to Parkour when my son has time with no pressure to use the classes by a certain date. The owners are super friendly, willing to make it the easiest for parents in terms of payments and gym time, always keeping an eye especially on the young customers. I have found that the gym users help each other and are willing to share with my son their experience as how they were able to climb a wall or encourage him to do one more cat. Everyone has a great time at the gym. -Patricia

I love this gym. I take the Urbanfit classes and they challenge me without completely overwhelming me. I am a total weakling and when I cant handle whatever Im supposed to be doing in class the instructor will seamlessly modify the workout to fit my fitness level. Ive seen them modify workouts to make them harder for more physically fit people too. The best thing about this gym though is how kind and accepting everyone is. I am pretty fat and out of shape and no one has ever made me feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about my lack of skills or my shape. All of the employees and other gymgoers are truly lovely people and I am extra motivated to go to my classes because I know the people there will miss me when Im gone. Yes the gym is kind of expensive, but I really do believe that it is 100% worth the price. This is the only gym Ive been to where I feel completely comfortable and appropriately challenged. Also, the classes are great and have been a huge help in getting me back into shape.

This is by far the best gym I have been to or could possibly think of. I was only in town for a few days, but they made it a point to work with me so I could attend the Parkour classes. Even though I couldnt make it to the regularly scheduled Intro class, I was able to work with an instructor for an hour to make sure I could be safe (I did have some previous experience for them to evaluate). The instructor was incredibly helpful and what I learned, without a doubt, helped me muck about DC with few incidence and more confidence. With a green light to attend the classes and use the gym, the only way to go was as much as possible. Bottom line: great atmosphere, great people, great instructors, and great architecture (where else do you get to jump onto the office?). Plus, they can totally tell you were to go in the area for some outdoor fun in the sun.

Urban Evolution is like a chameleon. Its like eight gyms wrapped into one; shifting you from feature to feature as smoothly as silk--(they actually have silks there). If its an athletic, interesting and fun activity, youll probably see someone engaged in it. The modestly priced training sessions are led by experienced and knowledgeable trainers who seem to really enjoy sharing and teaching. The gym has an overall "you can do it" attitude, and the training is easy to pick up on, but becomes challenging and necessitates discipline toward the later stages. The equipment and obstacles are thoughtfully arranged, bringing G4 TVs "Ninja Warrior" to mind, and are likely to give even the most energetic and creative athletes a run for their money. Definitely worth checking out for anyone who loves having fun while getting fit.

THIS PLACE ROCKS! My 12 year old son takes Parkour here and just LOVES it! The instructors are great coaches - talented, friendly and patient! The owners make you feel like you are part of the family from day one. I really like the membership structure as well - for one reasonable monthly fee, you can come to as many classes as you want. Or you can buy a punch card for classes. Its very user-friendly. So no stressing over missing a class, just come to one another day. I cant say enough wonderful things about this place and the folks here. This is a truly unique gem. You have to check it out to understand.

I definitely love this gym. They offer unique workouts and fun classes you dont find anywhere else. I have seriously enjoyed taking the aerial silks class but have also explored a variety of other classes. I do think some of their instructors are not that qualified. They might be great at their sport, but they need to be better coaches. However, since a lot of these classes are new, its probably hard to find qualified teachers. But, Ive noticed improvements in the past few months. The atmosphere is also great and it is just a fun place to work out and stay motivated.

I recently visited Urban Evolution (UE) for their Ninja Warrior night event. It was super awesome. They had a course set up that emulated many of the events you would see on the TV show, and everyone there was inviting and inclusive. Even if you failed the course, you didnt get laughed at. I actually cut my foot during my run of the course, and the staff there was really quick in helping me wrap it up to prevent too much blood loss. Great people. I will visit again. Disclaimer: My foot was cut by my own accord. UE is not a dangerous place. :p

So much fun and a great workout! I have tried many gyms over the years, but always end up getting discouraged for multiple reasons. But Urban Evolution is different. The environment is exciting, the instructors and other members are very supportive and social. I have been taking Parkour classes here for a few months now and I end up having so much fun that I always push myself well past where I would normally have quit. I highly recommend Urban Evolution for anyone whether you are an avid gym goer or just a casual guy like me. This place is AWESOME!

This review isnt on the actual gym, but about the kids birthday parties Urban Evolution hosts. The purpose is to have kids do a bunch of obstacle courses which are led by multiple instructors. One in particular was a total disaster and was basically yelling at the kids. He was expecting them to behave just like the typical adult patrons that come into that place - these are 4 & 5 year olds! Parents beware about having your kids bday parties at this location.

My almost 13 year old son took a week long Kids Parkour camp here and it was fantastic! He come home with sore muscles every day (not injured in any way just worked much harder than hes used to)...but he loved it so much he couldnt wait to go back the next day! The activities were fun and the coaches were great with the kids too. By day 2 he told us that parkour is the best sport ever! We love that hes working out so hard and having fun doing it.
