Heres the difference between CRC and everywhere else: I had a Jeep Cherokee that idled roughly and didnt feel right when driving below a certain speed. I took it across the street to another shop at first (I wont name the shop, but theyre the ones with the big sign out front and really nice waiting room). They told me that it could be one of several things, but they wouldnt be able to diagnose it without taking everything apart and that would be I think, $199 (I dont remember exactly) diagnosis fee. I bit the bullet and had them diagnose it. They told me that the transmission needed to be replaced. For some reason, I didnt believe them. I could tell that the mechanic pegged me as somebody who was clueless on cars and he was right. Despite having already paid money to have it diagnosed, I decided to get a 2nd opinion and thats when I met Omar for the first time. He said that he was pretty busy, but if I left the car with him, he would take a look when he got a chance. The next day, he called me and said that I threw a rod in the engine and had two options. I could junk the car or replace the engine. He explained to me in detail what he did and why he came to the conclusion that he did. I called my mechanic friend who lives in CA and he confirmed that that made sense with the symptoms. I arrived at CRC to pick up my car so he could explain it to me in person again and lay out how much it would cost for an engine replacement versus junking the car. I decided that I would take it CarMax and junk it which is what Omar recommended given the age and condition of the car. When I asked him how much I owed, he had a confused look on his face and said, "oh, uh theres no charge, I didnt fix anything." I insisted that I pay him something for the time spent on diagnosing the problem, he refused saying that wasnt how he conducted his business. I was blown away. Ive never come across a mechanic that basically didnt try to milk you for all they could. I also come to find out, that Omar is probably the ONLY mechanic that doesnt charge that bullshit diagnostic fee for a check engine light, since you can just go to AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts and diagnose it for free. I remember that I got a code from the free AutoZone check engine light tester saying it was a specific fuel injector and took it to the place across the street. They STILL tried to charge me a $100+ diagnostic fee because they said it was their policy and that the ODB code scanner from AutoZone is not as reliable as their ODB code scanner. I understand that shops need to make money, but they dont have to straight up lie to you to increase their bottom line. Omar and CRC dont need to charge BS diagnostic fees because they get plenty of business from word of mouth and from being straight with the customer. 3 years later, I still take my car to CRC for everything and am constantly rewarded with fairly priced honest service.

Came to Chantilly Repair Center upon a former customers recommendation. I was blown away by their customer service and their mechanic abilities. Im a car guy and a wannabe mechanic and pretty much know if a mechanic is BSing me. Took my 4Runner in because I messed up a valve cover gasket repair myself and caused a massive fuel leak in the rear of the engine (turned out the main injector line). I had the vehicle towed in the morning and the mechanic asks me if I had an appointment? I said no, it wasnt specified on the website. They proceed to tell me they cant promised me they will work on the vehicle and maybe they will repair 2 days later. I said that was fine because I didnt know about the appointment policy. We got talking and the shop admire my honesty for screwing up and informed me that appointment is needed because of the availablity of parking spaces around the shop. So 3 hours later, I get a call from Omar and gave me the rundown of whats going on and the cost. The cost was very reasonable and I said go ahead and repair. Before I hung up, I mentioned that theres another nagging oil leak near the front of the engine to have them look at it. Another 1 hours later, I get another call from Omar and gave me the run down on the the repair and cost for the oil leak near the front of the engine and the vehicle will be ready for pick up at 2pm. This is done on the SAME day! When I picked up the vehicle I hit them up on cost for replacing a timing belt for a Lexus and was provided the cost. They informed me that they only use OEM parts and dont use aftermarket. I was surprised that since this is not a very big shop, I figure they would cut cost by using aftermarket parts and charging OEM prices. I was wrong! When I returned Home, I noticed that there was an invoice for oil filter change for the 4runner and since I have to clean thing up and re-install the engine skid plate for the 4runner and I noticed the black Toyota OEM filter. Thumbs Up. My Lexus is going in today for timing belt replacement after the appointment I made when I picked up the 4Runner.

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! My BMW 325ci broke down on me over the summer. I was driving it on the highway and a one of the belts had snapped up and I ignored the signs and kept on driving because I was late for my summer class at GMU. My car finally broke down by GMU because the belt that had snapped made a hole in the transmission line while I was driving. The car would not go into the next gear. The car came into a complete stop and fluids from the transmission burst in to the street and smoke came from under the hood. I called the BMW shop and they quoted me for $4500 (+ towing cost) for all the work and told me that I have to get a new transmission. So the BMW was not an option because I am fully time GMU student and have been taking loans to pay for my school. I then called another shop in the FFX area close to GMU and they quoted me for $3000 (+towing cost) and told me the same thing that I needed a new transmission. I was about to take it to the second shop when a friend heard about my car problems and told me to call Chantilly Repair Center. I can honestly say that it was the BEST advice I got. I called Chantilly Repair Center and Sal picked up phone and greeted me. So I told him about my car problem and he offered to have the car towed to Chantilly Repair Center for free because he understood that I was college student like him and offered to help a fellow GMU student. So Omar took a look at the car and quoted me for $1000 dollars did NOT have to replace the transmission. That is a 1/3 of what I was going to pay for the second shop. He also explained to me that since I was young and a college student that these mechanics will overcharge you thinking you dont know much about prices of parts and labors. Omar had my car fixed within a week and did an EXCELLENT job. Now I recommend all my fellow GMU students. I take my car there for oil changes and any other service. THANK YOU OMAR AND SAL FOR SUCH A GREAT SERVICE!!!
