I USED PRUDENTIAL TOWNE REALTY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT TO MANAGE A RENTAL HOME I OWN. THE TENNANT EVENTUALLY HAD TO BE EVICTED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT. PRUDENTIAL TOWNE REALTY AND MORE SPECIFICALLY DENNIS BUCKLEY ASSURED ME NOT TO WORRY THEY WERE PROTECTING MY INTERESTS. THEY DID SUCCESSFULLY EVICT THE TENNANT. WHAT THEY FAILED TO DO WAS PROTECT MY INTERESTS AS THE PROPERTY OWNER. THEY FAILED TO JOIN ME, THE PROPERTY OWNER, TO ANY COURT DOCUMENTS. I CANNOT BE ADDED TO THE JUDGEMENT AND HAVE NO LEGAL STANDING TO GARNISH OR COLLECT THE FUNDS OWED TO ME. THEY THEN TOLD ME THEIR ATTORNEY WOULD COLLECT FOR 50% OF THE JUDGEMENT AMOUNT. I ENTERED INTO THE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT UNDER THE IMPRESSION AND EXPRESS COMMITMENT BY DENNIS BUCKLEY THAT THEY WOULD PROTECT MY INTERESTS. THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE, I HAVE WITNESSED THAT PRUDENTIAL TOWNE REALTY IS ONLY LOOKING OUT FOR THEIR INTERESTS. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A MANAGEMENT FIRM THAT WILL PROTECT YOUR INTERESTS. MY EXPERIENCE AND OPINION IS THAT YOU SHOULD CONTINUE TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Our Property Manager, Margie Chapman, falsified our accounting document, fail to follow through on needed repairs for the rental housing and just quit being our PM w/o any notice. She accused my family of being Hold Over Tenants in an email she sent on Labor Day not even realizing we had already moved. She missed the move out inspection and desperately tried to get us to come back so she could do the inspection. We refused. Now, we have to fight to get our Security Deposit back. We left the dwelling in pristine condition. Out of $1,695.00 she had the nerve to send a check to us for $378.75. I cant wait to Check her in COURT! The owner of the house, Harold S. told us the house looked better than it did when he had lived there.

They never return phone calls and they never answer letters. For the last three years we have made phone calls and written letters trying to get a leaking window fixed. This window leaks so bad that when it rains the carpet is wet 3 feet out from the window, the carpet is discolored from the water. The drywall around the window is falling apart, there is mold growing around the window, and the water splashes off the windowsill so bad that anything near it gets wet when it rains. This makes the wall impossible to use because anything we put there will get wet. It also makes it embarrassing to invite company over because the window and wall look so bad.

Update: BHHS reached out to me and the issue was rectified. Once again the property manager Mrs. Margaret Cody was GREAT. While the property manager was great. The bookkeeping department kept having issues on the return of my security deposit. As of now I still do not have my deposit returned and no clue as to when it will come. It has been 45 days and as per state law they only have 45 days to return it. Not 46 or 47 but 45 days. Will not be recommending this company to anyone. Which is a shame because the property manager was a good one. Nor will I rent from this company again.

This company is a poor representative of the Berkshire Hathaway name. I had them manage a property for me as Prudential Towne Realestate, and had some problems. Since the company has transitioned it has been a complete disaster. Payments go missing, calls are not returned, documents are "lost" in the mail. This company has lost my business and ensured that I will never use them for real estate services in the future.

With 5 years of renting experience, Berkshire Hathaway is by far the worst experience Ive ever had. The property manager, Erica Hayes, is a unreliable and dishonest and never returns contact requests. The property owner she represents is a liar and a crook. DO NOT rent from this group. You will not be treated fairly. Towne bank should be ashamed to have this group tied to their name.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Called 3 agents to see a property...only one responded and then promptly canceled on me and wouldnt reschedule. Called office manager at greenbrier location, still waiting for a call back. Will not buy/rent a property if represented by them.
