I went this AAA location to buy a EZPass Flex on Aug 6 2013. A lady received me. She asked me I needed a Standard or Flex version. I said "Flex". When checking out, I double checked with her and asked "Is this a Flex version?" She said "Yes". I took it home and opened it, which turned out to be a Standard version. The next day I went back to ask them to fix the mistake. Another sales person received me. He simply said "I was not aware of that conversation" and refused to do anything about this. That left me only one option: drive many miles to EZPass service center at Herndon VA to replace the device by myself. That easily took me 3 hours. I understand that the return and exchange policy for EZPass is to go to the service center. But that should only apply to normal situation. In this case AAA Sales made a mistake. They refused to recognize that and take any responsibility, but only leave customer to suffer the consequence.

They refuse to honor warranties. We had some repairs done in another AAA location (they did not know this at first). I brought it to Fairfax for other work, they said we needed to have the original work done again and that it was "dangerous" and were asking for the credit card. I showed them the warranty and suddenly they wanted to check the obviously dangerous parts to make sure we actually needed it. Turns out it was no longer dangerous--how strange! After arguing with them they agreed to cover SOME of the work, but said they had to call the other location to verify. That was weeks ago, and for some reason they cant seem to get a hold of the other AAA. Also, the manager has to be involved, and apparently he is only in the office twice a week. Dishonest and greedy--AVOID this location.

I first used this garage because it was close to where I work which made having things fixed while I went about my day very convenient, but its the service that keeps me coming back. Everyone here is exceptionally polite and happy to pause what theyre doing if you have a question or concern that needs attention. Prices are reasonable (even for non AAA members) and the mechanics arent pushy when it comes to what really needs to be fixed and what youll just want to keep an eye on/watch out for. As for negatives, the only thing they cant do (and maybe theyll add it) is VA State Emissions but meh, plenty of shops can do that in a few minutes. And if youre not a AAA member theyll definitely give you a pitch but again, not pushy.

Not everyday that an Auto repair shop will recommend a less expensive alternative to resolve your issue. This has happened to me twice with this team. Instead of a rear wheel bearing replacement - the lug nuts were loose. Instead of a complete tune up - simply blowing water out of the spark plug well and drying out the water from me washing the engine. Also had a complete brake job because I failed the state inspection. When I took it back for the inspector, he was impressed with the quality job. These guys will have my car repairs for a long time to come.

I paid double for one international driving permit. I made a mistake which was a wrong date on my application, and got the wrong dated card. I went back in 5mins and wanted to correct it. Their explain is thats from my mistake and charge one more time if I wanted to get correct one. No common sense at all. You lost one more customer because of 15 bucks... Thanks for letting me know. Its good to know that I wont loss big money from you.

They offered great service & advice about my car, shockingly without trying to pressure me into additional services. Now, they did pitch their signature AAA roadside packages to me, but it was my own fault for asking if it was free to add me to my new wifes account (which it was not). All in all, I will definitely return next time I need service.
