I would not even give this builder a 1 star. I would never recommend this builder to anyone. They are dishonest people and just try to make a quick buck. They do not care about the quality of there homes and absolutely do not care about there clients. My husband and I had a dream to have a house built, we started with this company and they seemed very easy to work with. Well first it took them over 5 months to even start the building (which I know sometimes permits have to be obtained) but then when we were good to go it took another 2 months after the foundation was poured to even start the frame work. We were lied to the entire time about the process, we also posed many questions about the grading of our lot that they had messed up and caused bigger issues, to having the wrong things installed in our house that if my husband and I did not catch would have went unnoticed by there Superintendent which obviously was not doing there job. This person is not a people person and is the rudest and most dishonest person we have ever come across has an excuse for everything. We had walls and frame work put up in areas we were not supposed to, to flooring on the plans that we never ever spoke about, to include tiles in areas that were never mentioned and because the superintendent was not doing her job the sub contractors they hired cut out doors too short and molding around the door frames were cut to high to allow room for tile which was never on our plans, to the wrong shower being installed, to the tiles in our master bath being caulked down (thats right) caulked not grouted or mortared, to the tub being off center and they have to come and rip up the tiles 2x which is why the last time the tile was caulked down as they got lazy, our railings going up our stairs had lacquer dropped all over it and paint brush particles dried in the stain.Our wood floor was put down so bad with so many flaws and when I asked all these questions at walk thru I was told to go to home depot or lowes and get filler to fill in the holes. We had a back up the first day we moved in due to there subcontractor rishing and not taking there test ball out and backed up our sewer line in our brand new house. Nothing in this house is even, the Heating and AC unit was not put in properly and still doesnt work like a brand new house or unit should, due to the fact that unqualified people were hired to do the work. The painting that was done in this house was not done by a professional as you can tell, everything in our house to include the door hinges to the wood flooring had paint dropped all over it and no one bothered to clean it up. My husband and I could have done a better job painting and not to mention our contract called for 2 coats of paint and you can plainly see there is only one coat applied in this house. There Sub contractors are dishonest people as well aa they did not want to get introuble for doing work that is unacceptable by the trade. I would not bother hiring an attorney as it will not help they will stall and procrastinate the process where after over a year you still will get nowhere and now you are out a lot of money to even want to continue. I would never use this company again or have any of my friends or clients use this company or any of the subcontractors they use. There superintendent will back pedal out of everything and never take responsibility for there own actions. So please if you are ever thinking about using this company please make sure you do your homework and go and find areas they built in and knock on homeowners doors yourself do not go to the people they tell you to go to that will not help you need to do your own homework. They will scam you in thinking they are a great company and they will suck you in like they did to us.. I do not want this to happen to someone else and have someone elses dream ripped away from them..

The Charleston Company built our first home and we were so pleased. They were accommodating on the few changes we wanted to make to our house. This was our first home and we were nervous about building but they guided us through each stage of construction, communicated with my lender and title company, and guided us through the closing process. The only snag we had was that the county of Stafford had a freeze on all permits to slow the process of building in the county. We loved the company so much we purchased a second home from them when we retired from the military and all the moving around that we had to done. We Highly RECOMMEND this Company to anyone wishing to build a custom home .
