I am editing our review because our experience has taken a complete 180 degree turn. Ill leave the original review below. We had doors installed by ameritech, and theyre working well. We also had shutters installed, and that was a HUGE mistake. It really looks like they just slapped a last minute deal together with whatever they had leftover from a larger order. Some of the shutters started to come off, and when we called in to get that fixed, we were told they had to order the pegs. Now, how do you not have any in stock. This is a ~5-inch plastic peg. It takes no space up in comparison to the other items Ameritech deals with. Anyways, after being told they had to be ordered, we had to wait for them to come in (~3 weeks until we heard back), and we realized there is only one person in charge of responding to service calls! How does a company this big have one person to take care of everything, with no backup? What happens if the technician is sick, away, or on vacation? We had some problems with the sales rep shortly after meeting with him, so we spoke with the owner, Gary, who was very professional and promised us that hed make things right. He told us that when we were ready to replace our windows, that he would take care of us personally and give us a very good deal. When the time came, I called Garys direct number on a Tuesday and didnt hear back from him at all. Someone else from ameritech contacted us almost a week late. By that time, luckily, we had already met with Thompson Creek and had signed an agreement with them. Couldnt be happier with our Thompson Creek experience, but thats a whole different review. To make a long story short, sales pitch was good enough to convince us, then things went downhill. The contractors that showed up for the doors did a good job. Experience talking to the owner was neutral. It took forever to get the pegs for out shutters in, and now we were just re-scheduled AGAIN because the technician had a personal emergency. Just a terribly set-up company. Needless to say, I would not recommend you do any work with ameritech. -----Original Review Below------- On April 18th, 2015, we had the pleasure to meet with a project manager of Ameritech Construction. He showed up on time at 4:00 PM and stayed till almost 9:00 PM to explain everything patiently. Was not pushy and understood what we needed done to our house. He asked us what was more important us, then we talked it from there. After a while we decided to sign up to have the work done. Hopefully the work will be done by June. We highly suggest using Ameritech in assisting your home improvement. Also if you have a BJs or Costco membership, you may have a good incentive.

2.5 stars. Read below for why. Ameritech installed new windows on my main level and replaced my sliding glass door in the basement. The sales presentation was thorough, informative and all my questions and concerns were answered. The rep was very knowledgeable and is a very good salesperson. I set up my appointment through my BJs membership. If youre ready to get work done, go ahead with the appointment, but if youre just looking to get pricing, be ready to say no because they will push hard for the sale. My experience and interactions with the production manager was less than pleasant. He couldnt commit to the install crew finishing at a certain time so I left him a VM informing him that Id need to reschedule. Not only did he not call me back, he still sent the install crew out and I had to turn them away. Then it took another several days to get the new install date and he didnt hide his frustration with me when we talked on the phone. Very unprofessional. The install person (yes, they sent ONE GUY out) was great and I had no issues there. The install took about 11 hours because he had no help. Thats ridiculous. I probably wouldnt engage them for future work. I do have minor repairs that I need to get done this summer, but being in commercial real estate, I have contacts in the construction industry so that will be a better route for me. Updating my review because the president called me after reading my Google review and said he was disappointed after reading about my experience. He said they were working with a new lender and he was going to see if he could get me a better rate. I said that was great and thanked him. Well, I never got a follow up call and received my first invoice tonight. I suspected he called hoping Id update my review and now I know. Just glad to be done with everyone at Ameritech.

Eight years ago we had Ameritech Construction replace 20 original windows in our home. Our project manager was extremely professional, working with us throughout the entire process to ensure that everything went smoothly. The installers were extremely seasoned and knew exactly what they were doing -- they managed to complete all of the work within two days. I had never seen contractors so meticulous in their removal of the old windows and installation of the new ones. A year later we decided to replace the kitchen windows and the rear doors to our home (one single and one double French set of doors). We had a different project manager for this project, but received the same level of professionalism. The installers did a great job on the windows and doors (this job was a bit trickier since they had to replace 3 windows with a picture window in the kitchen). After each job the project manager checked back in with us after a couple of weeks to ensure there were no issues (of course, there were none). Recently an original arch window cracked (its 22 years old) and so we immediately called Ameritech Construction to come out and give us a quote. We were lucky enough to have the original project manager return and based on our fabulous experience with Ameritech we decided to replace the front door along with its casing (containing side windows and a transom window). I highly recommend Ameritech Construction to anyone looking for home renovations, particularly when it comes to doors and windows. Ameritech provides an incredible amount of value for the price. They are my first call when planning home renovations.

First, the roof looks great. Thats the only reason for 2 stars. Otherwise itd be 1. Thats it. The experience getting there was not good. It was my own fault, my defenses were down as this company was recommended by BJs and Costco Wholesale clubs, (whom Ive had great experiences with, be it for doors, cars or vacations) so I assumed it would be the same here. I was wrong. The very charming and persuasive salesman convinced us (with his "expertise") that I needed new soffits ("see how theres no light coming through?" sounded convincing) AND pointed out stains on the wood panels in the attic (" look how flexible it is!" & " these stains show proof of leakage") . Being they were recommended by these 2 buying clubs, I bought it. He promised hed be there both days to make sure things were done right. He wasnt. I called and he said he was not able to make it today, to which I reminded him it was actually tomorrow, and he stammered something. The only man of the 4 who spoke English (another broken promise, because I couldnt speak Spanish well enough to ask questions) said he only had to replace 1 panel and it WASNT one of the ones he pointed out that were so bad! Then when the soffits got replaced ( a week later) because of his recommendations, the worker (who put in ill fitting not-as-pourous soffits) said the amount of light coming in had NOTHING to do with state of the soffits! Lesson: dont do what I did and let your guard down with these folks! Use them with caution! It was an expensive lesson in the school of life! I have deck and siding issues that I need and will certainly look elsewhere.
