Let me preface my following comments by saying Drew and his team at Manassas Park did a great job installing my trailer hitch. That said this was a horrible experience and I will never use U Haul again. I originally scheduled my appointment for the U Haul office on Plank Road in Fredericksburg Va. However when i looked at the contract the install was scheduled for the Manassas Park location. This office is 39 miles from my work and 30 miles from my home. I called on the day before the install to verify that the Plank road location was doing the install and was told that i was correct and they would see me at 2:PM the following day. At 7:AM i got a text from Jonathan Pena that my appointment was now at 11:30 AM vice the agreed upon 2:PM. The text included a number and I called Jonathan. He was rude and condescending and when I asked why my appointment was moved without consulting me first answered " I am not doing installations after 2:pm today. I tried calling the Plank Road U haul location to find out who was this persons boss. I waited for 33 minutes on hold before i finally hung up in disgust. U haul customer service was terrible and once they got my deposit I was ignored or told to drive 39 miles to a location I had to find vice the 6 miles from my home. I am posting my review on Google and Angies List. This was painful and it is unacceptable. Never Again

Most people dont realize a lot of the time when they call they get an off site person answering the phone. This person will say they are management and may make promises that no one at the actual U-Haul location know anything about. I routinely go to the Plank Road store and rent trailers. The Manager is outstanding, he cares about how you are treated and the equipment is in great shape. The staff that work there are also top notch. If you read most of the negative reviews, it is all based on phone conversations, these are people the company established to answer the phones when they are busy and the Plank Road people have no control over. I have been in the store enough times and observed the staff & manager dealing with the mess the off-site people have caused. Do what I do reserve on line and deal directly with Plank Road people.

Terrible. Initially, I called week in advance, they lost my reservation...since I was driving while making it I didnt write it down (my mistake). A day before I called to make sure we were on, and possibly get the truck early. Tthey told me that I didnt have a truck, and 45 minutes later...just as I the Rep was "getting my reservation number for me" I conveniently got disconnected. 2 minutes later, I received a call from a regional representative indicating there were no trucks available in my area, and that Id have to drive to the next town. This doesnt sound like a big deal, but it shouldve been seemless...and amidst moving furniture, cleaning, and driving Id love to have these 4 hours back or put toward something productive. Ill be using one of the many competitors (budget, enterprise, ryder, etc.) next time I need to move.

Went to the Establishment on time for my reservation to rent a car dolly .turn out they dont even have it in stock, the one they were going rented to me .I had to fill out paperwork on another car dolly and waited for another 20 mins and still couldnt get it right. Total time to 1hour and 30 minutes. And still no car dolly.... What a joke... a bunch of clowns. They messed up the paperwork. I did my part ,By show up on time and having cash in hand.I dont have time wait on someone elses screw up. I dont get paid by the hour to wait in line for something i already had a reservation for .They need to learn to train their employees right I will never go to a U-Haul. I was not the only customer having problems. a another woman was just buying boxes and that took 45 mins to buy boxes right at the checkout counter. A joke.

awful experience. they did a hitch and trailer wiring, messed something up in my truck(shift lock didnt work after install), and they said they arent responsible if thy did break something. they told me that i was responsible for getting the problem checked and proving that they broke it, otherwise it was totally my problem, and they were not liable at all. The next morning, after i figured out the problem that they apparently couldnt, the manager answers the phone and was nasty and rude to me on the phone not answering my questions, but beating around the bush telling me what the tech shouldnt have done and whatever. it was completely ridiculous. also was quoted 2-2.5 hours, and was there for 5....

Amazing customer service. I stopped in on an emergency while driving cross country. My trailer wiring harness (installed in New Mexico) came loose and destroyed itself. These guys got me in within 10 minutes and did a bang up job. Not a single issue with getting it fully covered under the warranty. They even hooked up my trailer when they were done with the work. Wish I needed something from the store, just to buy your say that kind you. Simply fantastic.

This place has the worst customer service ever! There are several occurrences when I went to the counter that I was just like why are they so rude and why do they lie. My first time there I asked where there any other Uhauls close by because they didnt have any trucks available and the Asst Mgr said No. I went and found one less than a mile on Rte 3 at Gulf Station. I can put everything on this rating but take my word, you would rather do business elsewhere.

This place has awesome people,starting from the manager to the staffs.I needed a storage for 19 palletized freight,they did stored the freight for me for a week and when i returned their,the manager helped me loading the freight to the trailer,i could not ask for anything more than thanking her for what she did,what a character,she did not mind helping me at all.They are truely nice people and i would recommend anybody their.

Double charged my credit card for a trailer rental. I called the store 3 times and they promised a manager would call me back, which never happened. I called the national Uhaul customer service and filed a complaint. They said someone would get back to me in 3 days, which also never happened. Hey Uhaul, hoped the extra $25 you stole from me was worth losing a customer for life.

The woman I spoke with was very condescending while telling me they didnt have what I wanted. Telling me that "procrastination is not recommended" when Im considering whether to do business with them is simply rude. I dont do business with people who treat me that way and will not be calling back.

I have rented from this facility a number of times, and will continue to do so. They always have what I need (though I always reserve online), and are more than happy to help get me on the road with the right equipment. Staff is friendly. Uhaul equipment and supplies are well stocked.
