Nordine spa – HORRIBLE keratin treatment I recently got my hair straightened at Nordine Spa at Reston, VA. I got a Keratin straightening treatment done. My hair stylist was Courtney. Within 3 weeks my hair looks like I did not get straightening done on them. My hair on the top of my head looks very straight and great. However, half way down my head, my hair start looking like I did not even get a treatment done. I paid a crazy amount ($400+) to get my hair straightened. I even bought the recommended shampoo and conditioner. I am very disappointed with the service. I feel I went any threw my money away. My hair looks like they never got any treatment. SHE APPLIED A DECENT AMOUNT OF KERATIN ON THE TOP HALF OF MY HAIR BUT SOMEWHERE NEAR THE REMAINING 3/4 TO ½ THE LENGTH SHE STARTED USING LESS AMOUNT OF THE PROTIEN. I went back today to show them my hair, and guess what. First the manager, Terrace tells me that I went back 3 weeks late, its “3 weeks”, the protein is supposed to stay on my hair for 3-4 months. Then she went on to say, may be my hair did not accept the treatment. Seriously, my hair did accept the treatment. Half my hair looks straight and soft and really shiny and the other half looks so wavy and looks like I never got it straightened. I literally lifted strands of my hair and pointed out the difference in the part of the hair that looked straight and the part that looked super wavy. She kept saying your hair does not look frizzy and kept ignoring my comment that I blow dried them yesterday. Also, I did some research and went to a few salons to make sure that they in fact did do a bad. The hair stylist at these other salons said you must wait 4 days to wash your hair, this lady at Nordine told me to wash my hair after 2 days. Now, while I was there today the manager asked the hair stylist if she noticed a difference in my hair and she said yes, my hair were looking a lot more straighter than they were. BUT - 1. I have been there only once so I don’t expect her to know how my hair was. 2. She was standing near the reception and she did not recognize me so how did she remember that my hair were really bad. 3. The day I went to get my hair straightened, I had actually ironed my hair straight so they were really straight. And to top it all, the manager told me that her boss was out for “a month” and that I will have to wait till then. Are you serious? Basically I think it was a very sly excuse she used to get out of the situation. If I don’t hear back I am definitely going back.

Price: * Quality: * Service: **** I have been getting acrylics and gels on my nails for over 5 years. I just moved to Gainesville from Colorado (where my bi-weely rebases cost $15). I tried Nordines, to try something a little nicer and was shocked by the price - $65 … for a rebase! Which promptly started to chip off as soon as I got home. By the time I went to bed the first night, five of the nails had chips out of them. I was out of town on business for the two weeks in between, and couldnt get them fixed. When the salon called to remind me of my rebase appointment, I said Id like to cancel. By then, I was missing 2 full nails, and not a single nail was in tact. The receptionist was very apologetic, and said maybe wed try taking the nails off this time and putting a fresh set on. I thought Id give it one more try (they were very nice), but I spent 2.5 hours there while they soaked and removed the nails and reapplied the liquid gels. When I got to check out, they announced the bill was $102! Thats outrageous! I promptly cancelled all future appointments on shear price alone. Now, three days later, two of the gels are half gone and half of the remaining nails are peeling off. To their credit, they did offer to have me come back in to have the nails fixed (though I cant with my work schedule - and the time it takes them to do their work). The get two stars instead of only one because they were all very nice and friendly, and it was a nice atmosphere. Perhaps some of their other services are better.

Bad attitutude and RUDE is correct from the reviews below! I went to this salon for a hair and makeup trial only because it is near my wedding ceremony site in Haymarket! I cant believe the lady who did my hair! She had me in her chair for no longer than 15 mins and what she did looked like what a 5 year old could have done....seriously....this was the consensus of me, my two friends and a stranger waiting...we couldnt believe what she did. But, thats not the worst part of my experience! Again, only AFTER 15 minutes, as I was suggesting some things that we could do to make my hair a little bit more of what I wanted, she told another employee that "she was almost done"...WHAT? Im spending $75 and youre almost done after 15 minutes and Im so unhappy!??!! She was pushing me out of her chair and then tried to ensure me (when she saw that I was unhappy) that "it will look better on the wedding day." WHAT? I"m still paying a full price for this price...so, it should look "better" today! HORRIBLE SERVICE! DO NOT GO THERE!! And, yes...all of the stylist seem extremely rude and snooty!? NOt sure why, there was NO skill displayed from my stylist!!

I have no idea why there are more bad comments than good on here. I am very picky with my hair and not many stylist know how to do color the way I want it to be done or straighten my hair good enough. My original stylist who is amazing is just too far from me now so I took a chance and booked an appointment at Salon Nordine with Amanda and I am so so happy with the results. She was extremly pleasant to be around, did my hair quickly and the color turned out great. Everyone else that worked there were pleasant to be around and greeted me with a smile. Sometimes I think the people who write on here are just having bad days and make good places seem bad. I cant speak for any other stylist at Salon Nordine since I have not had anyone else do my hair but I can say that you will get what you ask for if you go with Amanda.

That about sums it up. I called to cancel all of my appointments because I was tired of the attitude, lack of care for customer satisfaction, and the fact that my hair never looked how I ASKED for it to, and the woman was really short on the phone and basically hung up on me. She didnt even ask WHY I wanted to cancel all of my appointments. All I know is they had better be cancelled because I am not trying to get charged at this overpriced, self-absorbed salon. Go elsewhere to save yourself a lot of trouble and annoyance.
