I usually do my own vehicle maintenance, but when I dont have the tools, time, or knowledge, I take my cars to Aarrow. (They do much more than just transmissions.) I am not associated with Aarow or anyone within there in any way (friendship, business, blood, whatever). I watched two jobs done by Aarrow this week. The first was mine. As usual, their work was done right, on time, and within budget. They have never tried to sell whats not needed. The second job was a big transmission job for a NY couple (I did not know) who were moving to FL when their transmission literally "went away" as they were driving down Interstate 95. They asked the tow truck driver where was the best place, and Aarrow is where he took their car. Good choice, Mr Tow Truck Driver. I watched intently as Aarrow got their car back on the road quickly, and worked hard to keep the bill as low as possible without sacrificing quality. I was proud of the Aarrow folks. Its tough to find a good repair shop, and I have come to Aarrow each time because they had done a good job last time, but not with total faith, as I have been burned by shops before. Im finally sure I have that one great shop. Aarrow will have my business from now on.

We have had service done at Aarow transmission twice now on our personal vehicle and once on my husbands work vehicle. They are convenient to where I live and very close to near by shopping. Every person that I had contact with at Aarow Transmission was very professional and fulfilled all my expectations and then some with my vehicles maintenance including letting me know safety issues that needed attention. No pressure was put on me to use their services as my husband is able to do most repairs when he has time. All service was down within a timely manner. One of the times I remained with my son and waited and the other we returned later. My husband has also brought his work vehicle in for a list of maintenance issues without an appointment and Aarrow took care of his vehicles needs within a few hours, and we were surprised by the reasonable price. We recommend their services and will be returning for our regular maintenance needs for our personal vehicle and my husbands work vehicle.

After 14 years taking my families cars to another repair location, the management changed and the good mechanics left. I was getting estimates that always grew or more issues were found and cost me more money. Decided to try Aarrow at Short Pump. First few times okay. Then my daughters CRV I just bought her needed inspection. Got an estimate for $390.38 for repairs to pass. Next day got a call that the repairs were more extensive and the new price was $689.98. The labor would be more, they didnt include new headlight cost in estimate, and the parts on the estimate were double what I was given. I can understand $20 or $30 dollars difference, but this was $299.60 more than the estimate. The search continues for a auto repair place I can trust that wont rip me off.

Each time weve come to Aarrow Transmissions, weve recieved great, personal service. We had previously been going to a another shop for all our car work. We had realized, after having every car fail state inspection due to our headlights being misdirected, that the other shop had turned to working the system to make more money. We started looking for a new mechanic. We found Aarrow right down the street and have been very pleased with their service. We feel that they are, and have been, taking care of our cars as if they were their own or their monthers cars. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We feel confident that any service performed with Aarrow will be done correctly with no upcharge or unnecessarily!

I went to Arrow 3 years ago to replace my damaged 2001 Honda Accord transmission. At the time I didnt want to buy another vehicle and Honda was absolutely no help, since I wasnt the original owner. Going on a tip from a friend I took my car to Arrow and waited 3 days for them to complete my transmission rebuild. 3 days is probably average wait time, but I wasnt expecting an overnight job or anything. The warranty for the transmission was 30K miles, which made me a little nervous, but Im now at 40K miles and so far have had no problems. The costs was a little over 3K, which seems to be the industry standard. Id go back to Arrow Transmission in a heart beat if I ever needed another repair.

Probably ok if money isnt an issue and /or you dont know anything about cars or Internet research. I Got a quote for $1800 of repairs after failing an inspection, and ended up going to another mechanic in Ashland who said I didnt need almost half the stuff aarrow said I needed, got my own parts, and spent $400 for everything while passing inspection!!! Based off of the mostly good reviews I imagine they do perform good work, but do a little research and you will find they are over-priced - I noticed they double there parts prices and there labor rate/hours are high, ( they had $25 in there for a few nuts/bolts!!!) Not everyone in the west end has money to burn.

I believe I was dealing with the owner when I went in and if not either way I was treated very fairly and honestly. They pinpointed the exact issue with my vehicle for free and took a lot of time and effort explaining it to me before I even agreed to pay to fix it. They even invited me to call the dealer to price match before having them fix it which I did just to be safe. They indeed offered much better service than the dealer would or could have at a much better price. I got my car back within hours of drop off and the issue was resolved. Dont let the name fool you either. They work on everything not just transmissions.

Absolutely great service. Last week, I had a coolant leak and called numerous places to have it fixed as soon as possible but everybody would not see my vehicle for another week. Once I contacted Aarrow Transmissions, they were able to see my vehicle when nobody else was able to. The coolant leak got fixed and am very happy. A week after the appointment, Aarrow Transmissions contacted me to see how my vehicle is doing. That definitely shows that they care about their customers and make sure that they receive the best service possible. I highly would recommend.

I now know why I was referred Aarrow by another nationally acclaimed light-duty auto maintenance & repair shop in Richmond -- Sterling, the West End locations go-to man was incredibly professional and upfront all throughout, especially for the diagnostic/inspection aspect of the experience. E.g., He sent me picture messages showing me exactly what was done to correct my vehicles problem...Any automotive customerd be hard pressed to receive this sort of service anywhere else. I would definitely recommend Aarrow Transmissions for all your urgent, vehicular needs.

I had to get my car checked for an unusual sound while visiting family down in Richmond. The dealership was packed and couldnt take in anymore; the chain place said there was nothing wrong. The guys at Aarrow really saved the day. They were busy but took a quick look and made the quick fix and I was on my way. Fast and friendly service, Ive not only recommended my mom make this her go to, Im seriously considering scheduling any service around my trips to Richmond!
