It pains me to give this place 1 star because the food was killer but the service left a bad aftertaste in my mouth, that our family still cannot get over how poor the experience was. From the moment our waiter asked if he could sit after 2 minutes of taking our order because his knees hurt, to then waiting 35 minutes for an appetizer, our food being brought out a little over an hour after we ordered. Mind you the restaurant had about 15 other customers in the place and customers who came in 15-20 minutes after us were being served first. Even then when our dinners were brought out, 2 dishes were completely wrong, 2 meals were missing. When asked where the food was the waiter acted surprised and then said he would put the order back in for the calzone (12-15 minute wait) and immediately grab the 1 slice of pizza that was ordered. 15 minutes later still no slice of pizza and no calzone. So 1 hour and 30 minutes in we all finally got all of our food for the table. THE WORST part of the entire experience was the fact that the manager never apologized or recognized what happened as a problem and never attempted to do anything to rectify the mistakes and poor service we received. If you want to eat here (because the food is good) make sure you order TO GO 2 hours before you want to eat it.

I often walked by YNOT Pizza & Italian Cuisine with out thinking twice about going in. I had never been to one and always assumed it was like a wannabe Olive Garden. A friend recommended I go so yesterday, on one of those boring Wednesdays, I went. Upon entering I was greeted by the nicest waitress who directed me to the podium which was another enterence. I waited 5 minutes at the most because I didnt want to sit outside. Appetizers: Motzarella sticks & French Fries were brough almost as soon as we ordered them along with my salad. Dinner was Spagetti with Marinara sauce and rolls. Either I was really really hungry or those were the best rolls Ive ever had. My date had some of their famous pizza which I had a bite of. If you have their pizza, you WONt be disappointed. I was eyeing the dessert menu from the beginning so I already knew what I wanted.... half way through the dinner I started feeling sick (not related to food/ stomach) so we asked to leave. The waitress promptly brought over the check which surprisingly didnt exceed $25 and took away our food bringing it back minutes later all packed up. As I struggled to walk out of there, she held the door open and greeted us Good night. Lovely place, lovely people..will definitely be going back for the cannolis! :]

This review is more on service than the food. But service is a big part of the food. My husband and I have not been to YNOT in a very long time and decided to try them again. Our first choice in italian is Fellinis. The hostess was nice enough. We wanted to sit outside, but there was no waitress for the outside seating. Strike one. She asked if we minded a table and we did not. She sat us at a table close to a walk way. There were plenty of tables in better locations. I could not understand why we were put in such a bad location. We were trying to determine how to situate ourselves in the best possible way. We looked around and decided this was not worth it and left. I can understand putting us in a bad location when the place is full. But there were plenty of tables and booths. If the hostess was concerned about the waitress making money, well they just lost business. The waitress poked her head out the door and asked if we were coming back. OK... We are not coming back. We ended up at our old stand by, No Frill Grill. UPDATE: as we left No Frill Grill, there were people sitting in the patio! Unbelievable!

I have been to this Ynot location several times, but mainly for take out. The one or two times I did go in to grab a bite to eat the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food as usual was pretty tasty! Most of the times when I order take out here I get the gluten free pizza crust, which for those wondering tends to be a pre-made 10" (inch) thin crust. I think it is a tad expensive in my opinion, but with that said it still taste good and it helps cure the craving for my girlfriend who has a gluten intolerance (Celiac Disease). All-in-all this is a a satisfying pizza joint. The food is good and the employees are polite, so not too much of anything to complain about! Just be cautioned that the prices tend to run a little higher and this specific location can get a little packed during prime hours. Otherwise, I recommend you give this place a shot if you find yourself in Ghent and are craving a slice of pizza (gluten free or not)!

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. If you enjoy food at all, this is not the place for you. They are over priced for very disappointinformative food with an even more disappointin staff. The food had almost no flavor and what flavor there was, wasnt good. Im taking home my left overs for our dogs. My corn soup didnt even have 10 actual pieces of corn, the garlic bread (made on Italian bread mind you) was soggy as hell, my husbands calzone only had flavor thanks to the ricotta cheese that barely existed! And to top it all off, when I asked where the order of Italian bread that came wit my meal was, I was told they were out of Italian bread, seconds after I see the table next to us served Italian bread!! All this combined with the waitress taking forever to give us our bill, WE WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO THIS PLACE!!

great food and great people! food was usually worth the price. my favorites were the ziti, the calazones, the pizza, and the gellato. Only thing on the menu that i did NOT like was the tortellini soup (black pepper taste is overpowering, and there isnt really any other flavors to it). thought the T. soup would be delicious (tried on 2 different occasions, a year apart, but same result) but its more like flavorless noodles in pepper water :( other than that, everything is very delicious, and i have eaten here on several occasions. Take out is pretty speedy and effective if you are in a rush, want to eat at home, etc.

Love the food, im a basic kind of tastes guy but i know when the food im eating is worth going back for. I was hopeful that they deliver to norfolk naval base seeing as they had a delivery option, but was dejected to find out they dont go past terminal. How can you set a limit of delivery to terminal when literally a mile away is a base of thousands of possible paying customers? I love the food but its not worth driving out to get when you are craving it. If you could upgrade your delivery distance i wld have given this place a 4.5/5 and im sure the income would increase.

I went during the happy hour and the prices were right. This restaurant is near the NaRo theater, so its probably going to be a place Ill go to again. Excellent restaurants there. The eggplant and spaghetti was almost as good as my favorites in NYC. For Norfolk, its a good choice for Italian food. (Its all in the sauce!) My friend had pizza and it was delicious. Its a sit-down restaurant, not a pizzaria. The prices are moderate. I will go there again, without a doubt. Our waitress was probably the best Ive ever had.
