Ever since we got a new mail carrier, we keep getting other peoples mail. I have complained about it to the USPS twice. The first time I complained, nothing happened. Nobody contacted me. The second time I complained, Jason Convery with the Salem P.O. emailed me and said he would address the problem. He told me to call him on the main P.O. phone if the problem continued. On 2/23/16, we received TWO different peoples mail. I called for Jason but NOBODY WILL ANSWER THE PHONE!!! I have no way to email Jason either. We have received other peoples mail over 20 times since November (Which is around the same time we got a new carrier)!! Please send Brian back to be our carrier! I will say, though, that the P.O. employees who work inside the P.O. in Salem are usually very nice, very helpful and very patient!

I have never had any particular problems with this post office. Of course you have the normal issues with USPS with delayed mail and whatnot, but given that a lot of that is out of their hands, I find it only fair to rate the local service which has been excellent. I have always been greeted with courtesy and served in a timely manner even when the office is very busy and clearly under staffed which I find impressive. I know the USPS is having a problem staying afloat for one reason or another, but this location isnt one of those contributing factors as far as I can tell. I only wish they were open later on Saturdays, but I imagine they close at 12:30pm to save money.

Sorriest excuse for a post office EVER! They wont answer the phone!!!!! No matter how many times you call! They hang up on you instead. Also, the laziest excuses for mail carriers ever! Unwilling to get out of the truck to deliver a package or even take the return mail out. Countless occasions the return mail gets shoved to the back of the box and todays mail shoved in on top of it. This has gone on for up to a week at a time! Postmaster thinks its okay to stop doing his job because hell be transferred to Bedford soon. Watch out Bedford folks, your mail delivery is about to go down hill fast!!

I have called 18 times, and 18 times I have been hung up on. They literally pick up the phone and hang it right back up. Completely unprofessional!!!!! I had a certified letter notification delivered at my house, i signed it and placed it back in the mail box the same day it was delivered. 3 weeks later i still do not have my certified letter. When i asked the mail carrier about it, he instructed me to call the post office. he must have known they would not answer and just sent me running in circles. SOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!

Worst Post Office I have ever had. I have never been rude but always patient with them, until now, as I understand having friends and family who work for USPS. They are very rude and instead of answering calls they just hang up. Absolutely unacceptable!!! I have never had this problem anywhere else and if I wouldve known this ahead of time we would of moved elsewhere. Whats the point in wasting funding on an office that does not care about their customers???

Good to see that the mail was delivered today. I thought they were not going to make it but they did at the last minute. Thanks, greatly appreciated. One year later and the service has gone down hill. One day we did not get mail after the snow storm and when I asked I was told because we got it the day before. They seem to always have people calling in. It is 5:30 today and no mail. Very sad. Sure no thru the rain and sleet and hail in Salem.

Carrier will not get out of truck and bring certified mail to your door for you to sign, even if your door is open. Furthermore, if you take the slip, that needs to be signed, to P.O. in order to pick your certified mail up, youll be told you cant get it until tomorrow. Usually this is time sensitive, h e l l o ... do your job and get the mail to the freakin door! Im sure a few steps wouldnt hurt you too much

A small Parcel Post envelope takes 8-9 days to be mailed from Pompano Beach FL to Salem VA. Google Maps says it requires 12 hours and 43 minutes to drive this 888 mile trip. For comparison, the Pony Express (circa 1861) required only 10 days to go coast-to-coast (3000 miles). Thus today, the Pony Express would require only 3 days to deliver my envelope from Florida. I say BRING BACK the PONY EXPRESS!

I literally have no words to describe how unprofessional this office is. You will literally be hung up on on a whim, IF you are lucky enough to have them pick up their phone at all. Its sad that the worst customer service Ive ever received has come from a post office!

God forbid if mail is delivered to the wrong address. i wrote delivered to wrong address and the mail man scratched it out and still left it in the mailbox!
