Overall a completely unprofessional and stressful process. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The packing crew: They were late by 2 hours. I received no phone call from the company providing an update of time or anything. Once they arrived the supervisor immediately began giving excuses for being late and started complaining about the work hours that he has to do. They were completely unprofessional and at one point talked with my neighbor about buying a scooter while they were packing my things. A lot of my stuff was packed incorrectly and were cracked, broken, or bent, all from failing to properly pack and secure my things. The loading crew: I found out from the packing crew that they hadnt even assigned a loading crew, truck, or driver even though I had this scheduled months in advance. I was never told a time they were to arrive even when I called the office they explained they should be there about an hour after the packing crew left. 4 hours later they arrived. The dispatcher called and complained because I was not present when the truck arrived, I left to get dinner and when I explained to him that I had waited for hours he hung up the phone on me. The crew complained about their hours once again. Dropped 4 of my boxes. Didnt box my mattress or box spring when I asked them to, they said they didnt have one and said they wouldnt disassemble any of my things after it leaves my house. My bike and table was broken down further after it left my house. I was not told that after the truck was loaded that it would be offloaded and packed into shipping containers. When they did that, they did a poor job of loading it. Many of the boxes were crushed, split open, or wet. They folded my mattress and put my furniture into the containers with little to no cushion. By the way I found my mattress and box spring boxes, that they "forgot", folded in one of the crates. Bottom line, they obviously did not care about my things and it showed when I unpacked. I will be filing a claim... This made my military move from VA to CA much more stressful.

My husband and I had a horrible moving experience with this company. The packers did not inventory our items while they were boxing our things up. So when they lost 2 of our boxes, we had no idea what was all missing. The men who moved our things out were very nice, hard working, and fast. We had no issues with them. When we received our things and realized items were missing, they could not locate any of it. They just knew our stuff had not left VA. They ended up losing our parts box, which had parts to every item in our house. And a box from our kitchen which had all of our dishes, mugs, measuring cups, and beer/wine glasses. When the problem was reported to the company, we had a very hard time hearing back from them. They were very difficult to deal with. I would not recommend them or trust then with your personal property.

My belongings were packed and moved very safely, however all of my furniture was marked "badly broken and scratched" on the inventory... I can only assume this was done to avoid liability upon arrival if anything was actually broken. The guy in charge of the moving didnt give me anytime to read the inventory sheets, just hustled me through signing all his forms so he could leave. Granted- this was my first military move. Next time I will do the walk through inventory with the movers.

This is a great company to work wirh. I especially like the fact that Robin came out to give an on- site estimate. The guys who came did a fantastic job, wrapped all of my furniture as requested and laid down floor protectors. We had one minor glitch when the truck wasnt repaired on time, so arrival time was not as planned. I would definitely use this company again, as this was the most professional moving job ever done for me. Thank you to Ken and his crew!

My advice to the management please hire people who know how to communicate with your customers especially if your team is going to be late. In addition to that dont threaten your customers with extra charges because your team missed the appointment time frame completely. I am going to recommend that you be blacklisted from transporting for military customers. Your lack of customers relation skills is going to be your downfall as a company.

This company was first class from the initial meeting about our moving needs to the final moving day. Robin was very professional and helpful. Both crews, the packing and two moving crews were very good and worked so hard. They are all hard workers and were very careful with all of our belongings. I would recommend Hampton Roads Moving & Storage for your next move.

Horrible Move!!! We contracted for a local move with insurance coverage. They sent three guys without a furniture dolly and broke an expensive Armoire. They refuse to cover the damage EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A CONTRACT!!! I WOULD NEVER USE THESE MOVERS AGAIN!
