I have been going to Amici Style to see Curtis Hutchinson for highlights and cuts since 2000! While a portion of that time I lived out of state, I would try to time getting my hair done during visits back to the area. He does a phenomenal job of helping find the perfect cut, style, and color to suit you and your needs at the time. He is also honest about what he thinks will work best, yet will accommodate what you prefer. I have seen all types of cuts and styles done by him and everyone walks out looking and feeling amazing. He is an amazing artist and views you and your hair as a canvas to create beautiful things! I have watched him time after time carefully think through the whole process of the shape of my face, skin coloring, hair texture and shape before proceeding to pair the perfect pattern of highlights with a specific cut. I just walked out of the salon today with a beautiful cut and color perfect for fall! The salon showcases local artists talents and the staff if welcoming and friendly. I have and will continue to recommend Amici Style to friends and family!

I have been going here for years. I had one stylist for 9 years and she relocated. I was having a hard time finding a salon that I liked. When I want to have my hair done I want the overall experience. From being welcomed when I walk through the door to check out. When I first came to Amici Style I knew that I was in the right place. Everyone is professional and attentive. I have had everything from cut, color, style, to a formal event updo here. April one of the owners is super sweet, and I look forward to our chats. Curtis the other owner is full of knowledge and really goes the distance for continuing education around the world. I feel happy and refreshed after going here. After relocating back to the area, I made an appt the first week I was back. It felt good to be back at home here. Thank you guys for always making me coffee and letting me have a "me" day here! My hair is very long and is now the healthiest it has ever been in my life since I went here. Thank You!!

Atmosphere was great but the owner was kinda short.. Thats OK though. Amici gave me an appt after another salon cancelled for a regular customer. (My neighbor referred me to this salon) I explained that Im new to the area and I really wanted my hair done because my husband and I had a date last night. It took over three hours for low lights and highlights, needless to say I paid 206 for something I hate! It is the complete opposite from what I asked for, I even showed Sara pictures of what I wanted! I wish I would have wore my glasses so I would have been able to see how bad it truly is. The blonde thats over the brown looks grey.. They blonde was supposed to be dominant and the darker color on the bottom there is no blonde in my hair and there was before I went in to this salon. I have a haircut appt on Tuesday...yall can cancel that I will not step foot in there again! JL

I live in Germany and was back in Virginia Beach for a conference in May. I needed a cut and highlight really bad and looked up places in VA Beach. I found Amici online, they had good reviews so I booked an appointment. I was pretty nervous going to someone new for a highlight but I really needed it done before going back to Germany. Turned out to be a wonderful experience with a great cut, color and style. The staff was very friendly and my stylist (actually the owner) spent 20 minutes before the appointment asking me questions about my hair essentially getting to know it. She was So friendly, made me feel welcome, offered drinks and was an excellent stylist. I would recommend Amici to anyone looking for a stylist that cares about your hair and does a great job and a warm welcoming environment. Thank you Amici for the great job!

I have been going to Curtis at Amici Style for years. I am one that does not like a lot of product and only comes in once every 2 months for a haircut. Even though I only use the minimum of the services they provide at Amici Style, I still feel like I am a valued customer. Curtis takes the time to style my hair so that it is very flattering to my face as well as to my lifestyle. It looks good when it is first styled and as it is growing out. He also cuts it so that I can style it every morning, without having to have a professional present and an unlimited arsenal of styling products and tools. Curtis and April make me feel like family and a friend when I come into the shop. I drive over 30 miles in order to get to the salon and would drive even more because its that good of a haircut! Curtis has a talent for cutting hair!

Curtis is incredibly passionate about what he does, an artist who spends a great deal of time trying to determine a clients goals and the options available to realize the desired cut, color or style. My first formative trek to his salon took place over a year ago when I was toying with the idea of color but did not want to take on the "Kiwi Boot Polish" tone that many of the mens products offer. Curtis not only managed to craft a natural color combination, but he also made subtle changes to the styling that allowed carrying a longer length. April had been a valuable source of credible product treatments that allow for revitalizing hair follicles damaged from over stressing during fitness training. This salon is THE OPTION for any gentleman in search of something beyond the norm in a traditional styling experience.

Absolutely phenomenal! Thankfully I called Amici Style Salon and asked if they could do anything about this big knot that I had on the back of my head. It seemed like a dog matt and felt like it would NEVER come out. I personally have a decent amount of hair and was shocked when one of my family members said that I may need to get my hair cut! I did not need an appointment and was told just to walk in and see what they could do. The fact that they offered to take the knot out for free was amazing! Since I loved their attitude and their love for hair, I decided to get an affordable trim after all the damage I put into trying to get the knot out myself. Afterwards, I fell in love with Bumble and Bumble products and the Salon itself. Hopefully one day I will be able to come back and have another great experience.

I was reccommended by a girl I met in a nailsalon. Horrible experience. The owner Curtis, does not listen to the client at all!!! Did not cut anything I told him, had to come back the next day, ofcourse your at the stylist mercy because they have the scissors in their hand, He told me I had flat hair and nothing he could do about it, even after bringing in old pictures of myself. They made my hair darker than it is, even my 67 yr. old mother said it looks like something I tried to do myself. After spending $180.00 and wasting a lot of time I have never been so unhappy with my hair, and Have made an appt. with my old hairdresser that maybe he can correct the problem.
