This salon and spa is amazing. I have been a client since August 2015, and I go in pretty much weekly now. I cant praise Jax enough. I have never felt so comfortable in another salon or spa. Even just the atmosphere in the building is relaxing and peaceful - I can be having a horrible day, be in a wretched mood, or be completely stressed out, and I can feel myself calm down from the minute I walk through that door. By the time I leave, I have a totally different perspective on the day. The staff -every one- are friendly, warm, and helpful. I have never once felt judged or self conscious in Jax, and I have more than a few self esteem issues - these amazing people have been nothing but nurturing and supportive. From the reception counter to the owner, himself, I have felt welcomed, valued, cared about, and even embraced. Thats so rare for an establishment of this caliber. The services and products offered are fantastic. Emily cuts, styles, and colors my hair, and my very curly hair has gone from being dry, frizzy, and extremely hard to manage, let alone look good, to hydrated, healthy looking, and ridiculously easy to manage and style since the first time she cut and colored my hair. Jessica has been doing my facials and helped me figure out a skin care routine for my problematic skin - my rosacea is now completely gone, my dry, scaly skin is soft and moisturized, and my skin tone has evened out. Her facials are life-altering. Mechala has been giving me Elemental Nature Massages just about weekly, and she is magical - she really knows her craft and is so in tune with her clients needs, applying the perfect amount of pressure and even distraction for when shes working on those pesky knots. Her work on my back has been extremely therapeutic. Feloria threads my eyebrows, and does a wonderful job - Ive never had anyone put that much care into my eyebrows, and it really shows. I just had my first pedicure with Mackenzie yesterday, and it was hands down the best pedicure Ive ever had - again, Ive never had someone so details-oriented work on my feet. Honestly, I wouldnt hesitate to receive services from anyone at Jax. Every person there is extremely talented, well trained and educated in their work, and most importantly, care about their clients happiness and well being. Every product Ive bought at Jax - Aveda - I have absolutely loved. It has changed my life for the better. Every scent is amazing, and as someone who has a lot of trouble with perfumes, that Ive never had a problem with any of their scents ought to say something. Not to mention, Aveda products are environmentally friendly and responsible, their ingredients organic. Trust me. Go and pamper yourself. You wont regret it. Its worth every cent plus some.

I just moved to Gig Harbor from Bozeman MT. I have been using and going to Aveda Salons for over 12 yrs from Chicago -San Francisco and everywhere in between as I travel for my job. I needed to stock up on several products. First they did not carry many sizes... forgivable its a small salon. As, I proceed to purchase I hand the girl my Aveda pure privilege rewards card and she informs me that they do not participate when I asked why she said I do not know, but I can find out for you. She then informs they have their "Own" rewards program you spend $500 you get $25 towards products or services. After purchasing $150 worth of product she politely tells me the points will be invalid after August. Sorry, but that is not customer service I am used to in any Aveda Salon. If that is how they treat customers merely buying product, I will not trust them with services, for my hair, face, nails, or massage. I guess I will have to travel for my Aveda experience...sigh

I was not planning to leave a negative review since I called the salon and was told the manager would get back with me about my complaint and never did (after a little over a week) have decided to go this route. Not impressed. I have been here a few times and it was good except the last two times. First of the bad times-my hair trim was great except one long piece she somehow forgot. I didn’t notice until I was home and my husband pointed it out. I never complained about that but this last time I decided to. My hair trim (1 inch is what we agreed on) turned in to 3 maybe 4 inches and my bangs I am growing out instead of just trimming them barley she added more bangs from my already grown out hair. In search of a new Salon. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I love the atmosphere at Jax. Feloria has been my stylist twice. She is a good listener giving a professional opinion based on her experience and knowledge. My hair turned out great both visits. I would say she cuts more conservatively than other stylists meaning she errs on the side of caution not removing too much hair. To me that is better to have to return to remove hair rather than cutting off too much.

Cut, color & massage - I got the full treatment of excellence & pampering from the second I entered the spa! The staff are professional, talented, welcoming, accommodating & the setting is gorgeous! Congrats to all for a stellar set up - I will definitely be back!! I just wish you were closer to my home in Kirkland, but I will travel for this quality :)

This salon is awesome. Recently moved to Gig Harbor and had to find a new stylist. Amanda is the best. She not only took her time to explain what she wanted to do, but also made sure that I was fine with the cut and color she wanted to do. I would definitely recommend Amanda to everyone.

Love coming to Jax - the stylists are professional and attentive, and the salon is beautiful. Have had spa treatments, and have always had a great experience. This is a wonderful place to relax and feel pampered!

Best in the Harbor! Would recommend the AVEDA and Jax experince to anyone. Feel pampered from the second you step through the door. Everything from haircuts to nails and massage, you cant go wrong at Jax.

Absolutely wonderful salon. I decided to have 4 inches removed and get a choppy long bob. Abigail gave me the exact hair cut I had in mind that also fits into my styling routine.
