Just dont pick this company. Read on if you want to know about our nightmare. I have had one of the worst experiences ever in moving. It started off with them being 24hrs late for the pickup and just proceeded down hill from there. We moved from Indianapolis, IN to the Seattle, WA area and I knew from the beginning that they were going to take a it longer than most other companies, 3 weeks vs 2 weeks. However I went with them because Door to Door was supposed to be reliable. Once our stuff got to Washington it sat in their storage for a week. Three days before it was to be delivered we realised that there were some problems because our new landlord didnt allow forklifts (because they had severe damage with a previous driver). Of course this is Door to Doors only method of delivery. We tried to call and work something out repeatedly every day and find some type of solution to have our stuff delivered. I spent hours calling them. They kept telling us that they would put it in a parking space on the street, yet the street they chose only allows 2hr parking. We kept trying to explain this and they just kept repeating that they would leave it there. Their only other solution was for us to come pick it up in Kent and drive it down ourselves, which would cost us even more than the $3000 wed already spent. Finally our apartment office agreed to make an exception for us because the moving company was being so unhelpful and allowed them to drop off our home/belongings. Once we got our stuff we realised they had broken the hinge on the lock so anyone at any time could have accessed our things. They also had bent my bike handles, which required repair. Almost every single item of wood was damaged and will require repainting. One book shelf is completely ruined with a giant crack down one side. The worst part about that is I had provided many blankets and towels to wrap around our belongings, which of course were sitting in a pile in one of the crates. I wish I had just cancelled when I found out they were going to be late. The company acts like they gave me the moon and stars because a manager called to help facilitate and they "refunded" $100, which we still havent seen after 3 weeks...I am sorry to say for the amount of issues we had a manager should have done a lot more to alleviate such a complete waste of time and money. Also, I wish I could post all the pictures of the damaged items, so everyone could see what I mean.
