Im a lunk. I am the exact person this place is trying to keep out. I grunt, I lift heavy weight, I dont think I judge nearly as much as Planet Fitness probably thinks I do (I think we are all guilty of a little judgement here and there, sometimes it could be fitness related, most of the time its not), but I realize that Im the kind of person that your average planet fitness member would prefer not to have around. And thats ok. Its about damn time gyms got away from the one-size-fits-all memberships with a matching price tag. I dont swim, so I dont want to pay for a facility with a pool. Same thing with child care, same thing with classes. You should pay a reasonable price for what you use (or at least are likely to use) so Planet Fitness makes a lot of sense for a lot of people. $10 bucks a month, $10 more if you want to tan. Pretty simple. My personal bias is that more people should work out like me, and they would get better results....but I suppose thats my judgement rearing its head. If you want to build muscle and/or lose fat, my personal opinion is that you should be squatting...and deadlifting...and maybe even doing some power cleans, all of which are forbidden at Planet Fitness. But just because I think you should do something is irrelevant to what you will actually do. I dont think people should smoke, but my opinions are unlikely to make a dent in the wallet of big tobacco. My point is, consumers should have choices. And if you want basic cardio equipment with basic resistance machines, and you dont want people like me around, you should be able to get that at a fair price. And thats what Planet Fitness offers. I suppose in a way I think its harm reduction (i.e. offering a less than ideal solution to a problem that someone is likely to employ as opposed to a better solution that a person is less likely to employ), or maybe I will have to accept one day not everybody likes to train the way I do or has the goals I have. Many of my fellow lunks complain about this place, which is pretty dumb. I dont complain about being unwelcome in a womans locker room or a daycare when I dont have kids enrolled, or even Curves for that matter. All Planet Fitness is trying to do (and succeeding) is tailoring a gym to their target market. This not only makes for a better experience for their clientele, it also reduces costs (and as a result, the rates they can offer). If youre thinking about trying this place out, let me first say that I think you should be a lunk, like me. However, if youre not, the price is right the equipment is decent and I really cant say there is anything wrong with offering people what they want, even if its not what I think they need.

I have been a member now for years and love the gym. It has all the equipment and weights I need to get a good workout in. I would like to see is them bring the medical scale back. I was told that they do not want people focusing on weight and feeling bad about themselves if they are not losing, but there are those of us that would like to see how we have benefited by using the facilities. Also the stair steppers are too close to the treadmills and can be unsanitary. I was on the end treadmill and the person on the stepper was flipping sweat all over and in my water. I do not use that machine anymore. As for the staff, most are very nice, but I have noticed the difference as employees have come and gone. I used to workout in the early AM and always like having Terry there, but do not get in that early anymore. The weekend staff has completely changed and not as friendly, weekday team still has a few that have been there for years.

Definitely a solid gym for the price; no major complaints. Unless you are an actual bodybuilder, theres no reason to go somewhere else and pay more. However, as a former member of several other Planet Fitness locations, some things stick out. I wish they were truly 24/7 (Im MORE likely to want to work out late on weekends, not less), that they had an ab circuit, and that their TV monitors werent so cheap (you can see lines streaking across them, and the cable channels pop up suggesting unusable HD channels every once in a while). I would also appreciate it if the thermostat were set a bit colder. On the other hand, their add-on AV connector things on the treadmills work a lot better than the built-in ones most PF locations use, so Ive never been unable to listen to a TV channel (a problem they have at other locations). The staff are always friendly and the facility is very clean.

I wanna clear the air about this place. Overall it is a very clean and wonderful place to workout. They have a lot of cardio equipment and a decent amount of dumbbells. The weight goes all the way from 2.5 to 75. They are typically in 5 lb increments. They also have a lot of weight lifting machines to complement the free weight. The only downside is they do not have a squat rack or bench press rack. They do have smith machines work work alright. This gym would be even better if they had like 2 smith machines and 2 squat/bench racks. The locker room is always clean and well maintained as well are the facilities. If you are an experienced bodybuilder I would stay clear. However if you are just starting out or are an intermediate lifter I would say get a membership, $10 a month is impossible to beat. Because they do not have racks I just use the dumbbells for my press movements.

Ten bucks a month for a gym? What a deal! They do charge you an extra $30 or so once a year, without warning, but if you know theyre going to do that then you can be prepared. I do think they should at least email you to let you know its going to hit your bank account, but they dont. Whatever. Its still fantastic to get a gym membership that you can cancel anytime and its only $10 a month. They have plenty of equipment, and Ive never had to wait in line for an elliptical, even during the evening rush hour. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful, the place is clean, and hardly ever do I see a machine thats out of order. Sure, it would be nice to have sauna, steam room, etc.... but then it wouldnt be $10 a month. Basically, this is a great gym, and Im very happy with it.

I visit Planet Fitness locations all over the US when traveling for work. This location is okay, but not my favorite. I was surprised to find a few machines missing from this location that most other locations have such as the preacher curl machine, the tricep extension and chest fly machine. The machines that they do have show signs of age. The black card spa items are right out in the open with little privacy. Now dont get me wrong, you can get a good workout here, its just not what Im used to seeing at Planet Fitness. Its still a solid 4 out of 5 stars for me. The staff is very friendly and the facility is very clean.
