The owner was rude from the start. He verbally quoted me $649 but no written estimate. I called them a few days later to check on the car and He said they found some "bad pipes" and it would be an additional $300 for parts/labor. They never called me to tell me my car was done but instead I had to call them, again. I got my car back and it started overheating so I took it back and they said I had a bad radiator and would be another $460 but I was pretty sure my radiator wasnt the issue so I told them not to do any work on it. Rick got angry and said, "Fine, just come get it out of here." I took it to Long Lake Auto and told them what PSAR said and told them I thought PSAR was wrong and immediately they said it could be the head gasket as that is very common for my car. He did a simple test that checked for carbon monoxide in the coolant system and said it was either a bad head gasket or bad head. They gave me a written estimate of all the work that would be performed with two prices: one for the head gasket, and another if the head was bad. They called me each time they needed to do more work and were very friendly the entire time.

I have been a customer for about 8 years now. This shop is not the cheapest in town but what is a fact is that the integrity of the ownership to do the best for the customer is without question. I recently had a series of things go wrong with a car. The owner worked with me to get everything fixed. He even made repairs to the faulty computer module to save me from an expensive replacement. It was nerve racking at times because I had to trust that his recommendations would work and that it would not create a substantial financial hardship in the process. I followed his advice because of my history with the owner and the quality of work I had received in the past. This shop delivered for me this time like no other I know would do. The car runs better now than it has in quite some time. I can say that it is extremely comforting to trust this business to do the right thing for the customer.

I was buying a used Ford truck from a private party in Port Orchard and wanted to have it checked out before purchase. This company gave the truck a clean bill of health, just citing "low coolant level". I thought, ok $10 for some coolant. The "low coolant level" was actually a leaking coolant bottle which cost $1000 to repair. Either they didnt diagnose that or they didnt bother to tell me what repair entailed. I dont think they caught it though. I took it to a Ford dealer and they saw it right away. Had I had it diagnosed correctly, I wouldnt have bought the car, or asked the seller for that much money off the asking price. So do yourself a favor and take a used car you are buying to a dealer who looks at that kind of car all the time.

This place is great! They were recommended to me by several co-workers when I needed to have my 60K service done last year. I went back when I had a ball bearing go out 2 months ago. My experience is that they are knowledgeable, competent and professional. As a single female, I dont feel patronized or talked down do as I have felt in other mechanic shops.

Complete BOZOS! I asked for a quote to replace an alternator on a vehicle; 2 bolts and 2 wires plus one bolt to loosen the tensioner. The quote was $573 + tax. The replacement part is $85. I got the job done for $275 at a reputable establishment. I would not recommend Puget Sound Auto for anything.
