Choosing an auto repair shop is much like choosing a doctor. You want a doctor that is knowledgeable, honest, conscientious, and most importantly, someone you feel comfortable with and has your best interest and safety at heart. Thats what I found at Automotive Excellence 30 years ago. Mike and Automotive Excellence were just the right mix. Automotive Excellence is everything I required in an auto repair shop. I drive an average of 100 miles/day so I rely heavily on my car. I need my car to start up every morning and get me home safely every night. I live 45 minutes north of Automotive Excellence but their convenient location was close to work and they provide courtesy loaner cars as well. I had just bought a new Honda Prelude and was very particular about which auto repair shop I was going to let work on it. You’ve all heard about or had experience with auto repair shops that you take your car to and then something else goes wrong with it soon after getting it back. It’s hard to know who you can trust. Mike had extensive experience servicing Hondas and I immediately felt at ease with him. He would tell me exactly what my car needed and whether it needed to be done now or if it could wait until the next service. There was no pressure or hard sell tactics like some auto repair shops I’ve dealt with in the past. For the next 6 years I took my cars to Automotive Excellence for all my auto repair needs and have referred friends and family who were very satisfied as well. A job relocation forced me to find an auto repair shop closer to home and work. It was a nightmare. I brought my car to one local auto repair shop to fix a “wobble” that would happen when I braked and slowed to a stop. The “Best Shop in Town” said I needed new rear brakes. Problem not solved. Then they determined I needed a wheel alignment. When the problem still existed, I took it back to Mike and his Automotive Excellence team and they diagnosed the problem as a defective tire. Tire replaced, “wobble” gone. If I had gone to Automotive Excellence first it would have saved me hundreds of dollars. Another time I brought that same car to an auto repair shop across the street from work to have my radiator replaced. Everything was fine although I did notice a little difference in the way the gears were changing and I had to press down on the gas pedal more going uphill. One day my car barely made it up a hill. I took the car back to Automotive Excellence and they asked if I had replaced the radiator recently. Yes, I did, why? Well, when the radiator was replaced, whoever did the work did not tighten the transmission cooler lines and I barely had any transmission fluid left. That was all I needed. I should have followed my own advice, when you find the right mix, stick with it. I’m a satisfied customer. Ive taken all my Hondas, Acuras, and currently my 2010 Honda Civic as well as my Chevy Tahoe and VW Bug to Automotive Excellence. Mike and his team strive to provide you with personal one-on-one assistance. They thoroughly explain all services and repairs and make every effort possible to ensure that your vehicle is performing at its best. Dont go anywhere else.

Getting my car serviced at Automotive Excellence is always a pleasure! I know when I drive away that my car will be in top running condition and safe. They check all levels (oil, brake fluid, water, air, etc.) and I know when the owner Mike tells me my car needs something, it does! He has a knack for knowing when something can wait without driving dangerously or spending money needlessly. Mikes team, from Jon and staff at the front desk, his mechanics, and including the shuttle driver make sure all your needs are met. Need a loaner car? Not a problem, just make sure you mention it when you call for your appointment. Need a ride? Not a problem, again just mention it and they make it happen! And if you happen to wait while your car is being serviced, theres always Princess. The cat that Mike so kindly adopted and greets everyone that goes there. She’ll keep you company while you wait and will occasionally try talk to you. I have been going to Mike almost as long as he has been in business. Im on my third Honda, and the reason Ive kept each car as long as I have, is because of the exceptional maintenance they provide. Not sure what Ill do when Mike retires, buy a Mustang or a Camaro? I first came to Automotive Excellence in March of 2003 through a referral from a co-worker and I am very glad I did! Since that time, I have had all of my routine maintenance and repairs done here and I have always been a satisfied customer. Since I am not knowledgeable about cars, the main reason I feel comfortable referring customers to Automotive Excellence is because I trust them and I know that they will not take advantage of me. A few times I was concerned that a repair might be costly and it turned out to be something simple and inexpensive. In the 12 years that I have been coming here, if something unexpected comes up with my aging car, they always fit me in, even if I dont have an appointment. Mike and his staff are great. Jon, the Service Manger, is very professional, courteous and patient. My Honda has over 220,000 miles on it and when I have to get another car, I plan to select one that I can have serviced by Automotive Excellence!

We were greeted when we walked in the door. They explained the work to be preformed and what time to expect it finished They didnt disappoint. They say what they"ll do and then they do it. I have been taking my familys cars here for over fifteen years. I have never had a mechanic that I have trusted like I do Mike and his crew. I have always felt listened to and that my cars needs were so well taken care of. I have also felt that they have anticipated major work that was coming up so that I could prepare financially. And now that they have loaner cars, I can overcome my procrastination and get that servicing done on time. Recently, my niece was visiting from the East Coast and needed some immediate car care and it was a delight to put her car in Mikes hands with confidence that she would be safe making the long trek home.
