If you go to Pep Boys and Tracy is working, I highly suggest going literally anywhere else. From the second I walked in, I received nothing but attitude from her. My boyfriends jeep wouldnt start the other day when we were leaving walmart, so after a while I walked over to Pep Boys to see if there was any way they could have one of their tow trucks come jump us. She told me no because we werent parked where she could see us. Then I asked if they had a specific battery charger in stock and she rolled her eyes and went to grab it, acting like I somehow offended her by asking her to do her job. When she came back with it, she slammed it down on the counter and walked away without saying a word, so I had to wait until the other employee was done helping a customer. Thats fine, I have no problem waiting. However, I do have a problem being treated so poorly by a manager. I dont care if she was having a bad day or whatever the reason may be, because my day surely wasnt going very well but I still managed to be polite and respectful. Im glad she made Farrell, the other employee, help me. She was incredibly nice and seemed like she genuinely cared about me and my situation. So I bought the battery charger, walked the 2 minutes it took to walk back to my boyfriend and the jeep, and told him about her horrible customer service (or lack thereof). We walked back to Pep Boys together, and he could immediately see what I was talking about. She was so rude to him that he walked, saying he refused to talk to her and be disrespected any longer. On top of all that, I witnessed her completely insult a different employee right in front of customers, and I heard her lying on the phone saying she was the only person there and she had absolutely no help. I will never do business with this store again, unless Tracy is no longer working there, and Farrell becomes manager. I give Tracy 0 out of 5 stars, and I give Farrell 5 out of 5 stars. Good luck if you decide to shop here!

I came here because Les Schwab down the street was too busy... what a mistake. I got four new tires on my BMW; this car has low-profile M3 rims. I believe they let someone without the experience needed change these tires. The drivers rear tire has had a slow leak ever since they were new... So, since at the time I lived in Marin County, I would have to fill up the tire every 2-3 days. I called for an appt., when I got there exactly on time they said there was about a 5 hour wait... 5 hours? yes. What was the point of making my 1:00pm appt.? Dont know. They just told me they were busy. Next time I called and told them about this. They made me an appt., they were resistant to take the tire off, even though it is supposed to be part of their service. They said there was some metal grit (or something) on the rim... I believe the person whom did the tires first scraped my rim. They couldnt find a leak in the tire and re-mounted it. When i got back on the road (in the BMW) it bounced all over the place. When I turned around and took it back. The guy told me Steve(?) told him just to mount the tire... but NOT BALANCE IT?!? I couldnt imagine how this place stays open, that is the most basic thing... anytime the tire come off it MUST be balanced... So, I get Steve (?) and the guy together, and now it was a game of oh, I didnt say that. and I was told Steve said that, BS LAMENESS>>> they totally bailed on me, Yancy(?) was very helpful though and put my tire back on... but its never held air for more than a couple days, and I have to take it BACK FOR THE THIRD TIME TOMORROW because now the tire is totally flat, joy... WHAT A PAIN... And maybe have to sue them for a new rim? they cost $500.00 for just one. at least... NEVER GO HERE> EVER... take the time and go to LES SCHWAB right down the street... I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING HERE AGAIN... EVER. I spoke with a Mechanic whom said that "Pep Boys is like Kragen (ORiellys) with a garage..." NO GOOD>

Im pretty sure I was the victim of a bait-n-switch. I ordered a battery for my brothers Nissan online to get the 20% discount for online battery orders. I used the code ALLTIME20. I dealt with George and he told me that the battery I ordered was for a Honda and it was their fault that someone on their end messed up inputting the online parts. He said the computer ordering is "only as good as the person putting in the information" and kept saying he hates the internet and that I should have called in the order on the phone. George was nice and apologized repeatedly, but still refused to correct the problem. He said it would "take a manager to fix it" but he didnt want to go get one. I would have insisted but my brother got upset and said "forget it!!" and we got ripped out of the 20 plus dollars we drove 10 extra miles to save in the first place. We paid the full price of $121.99 instead of the $97.59 we should have paid. Needless to say, I dont trust them AT ALL and will NOT be going back under any circumstances. Also; after ordering online, we waited for a confirmation email for an hour because the site told us not to go to the store until we received their email. After that hour went by I called the store and that is how my horrible experience with George started. If you are wise you will avoid Pep Boys stores where incompetence reigns.

This location has always been bad... Heres why; Brought a car in for diagnostic, didnt hear from them for a month, finally called and they didnt even do the diagnostic to begin with! Brought a car in for tires, they had a deal where I get a free oil change with it. I had just changed the oil and asked for a rain check, they refused! I got home and looked to see if they had done the work... It still had the original toyota oil filter on. Had to call in and complain about it, in the end they did give me the oil change however. A few months later the engine lost oil pressure and threw a bearing. Coincidence? maybe. Went in one time to get some Mobile 1 Oil. They told me over the phone they price match competitors so I told them that Walmart had a deal on it. I showed them the ad and they said they couldnt honor the online price and had to verify it. Spent an hour at Pepboys to get the deal, would have been quicker simply to goto walmart and purchased it. Lastly, I needed a part and found it online from pepboys ebay ad. The price was $20 cheaper than at the store, they refused to honor their own prices!!!! Ive known people who work there as mechanics and they all say theyd never take their car there for service. Scary place indeed.

I have a fleet van. I have taken the van there for scheduled maintenance primarily because they are the closest. More than one time I have discovered a new problem after getting my van from them. Once, six days after a scheduled maintenance, I had no idea anything was wrong with the "new" tire until I was on Hwy 80 going 60+ mph and it "threw" the left rear tread. The van threw the right rear one about ten days later. I must be a glutton for punishment but, the next time I took it for scheduled maintenance I noticed afterward it would stutter, stall when pressing the gas after stopping. They said they would call when it was done. The repair of a problem of a loose "fuel hose", which hadnt existed until after the previous maintenance, apparently takes from 10AM until 8PM. I am seeking a repair shop that is near by.
