Id give this place an extra star if I could. Ive really only dealt with Garry at pro automotive, and Id recommend the place to anybody because of him. Why? Garry is very honest, he will not do work that isnt wrong with your vehicle. How many mechanics do you know that would do that? Ill explain how I know hes honest. A couple summers back I had a check engine light come on, I took it for Garry to look at it, he ran the code and didnt think that part existed on my vehicle, so he erased it. Told me to come back if the light came back on, unfortunately it did, so I paid him to do a full diagnostic and it was for a weird part Another time, I had the light come on because of an oil change from jiffy lube, which I took to jiffy lube first. Jibby lube didnt want to even look at my car, so they lied to me and said my electrical system was broken, and they couldnt get any reading....right. I immediately had Gary look at it, he was able to see right away that my electrical system worked. Garry is too nice to come out and bad mouth other car places to me, anyway. Ill never go to jiffy lube for anything, for the rest of my life. Recently, I had the service engine light come on and I skidded a bit while braking down a hill. I first called Waltz where Ive had brake work done before. Over the phone I tried to ask them whats the worst case scenario with my brakes? They wouldnt even entertain anything, didnt really ask me questions. When I called proautomotive and spoke with Garry, he asked me a number of questions, trying to get an idea of what it was. When I took my car in, he explained it was just the ABS, and that can happen going down ice or slick road. The code was just a gas cap code. Garry was about to send me on my way home after saying the brakes were fine and the code was nothing, without charging me a penny. However, I knew I needed new spark plugs, a "tune up," etc. Garry called me a few hours later to tell me my shocks were shot, I knew he wasnt lying, a few months back I was thinking of buying new shocks. I trust Garry enough now, with the times he hasnt charged me a penny for me thinking stuff would be wrong, that I believe hes one of the few honest mechanics out there. I would definitely recommend him to all of my friends and family. If Garry is like this, that makes me trust all of pro automotive. I plan on moving more north towards Seattle but will probably still come down to Tacoma after I do because Garry is that trust worthy. Now after a full+ tune up, and new shocks, my truck is running so nice it feels like a new vehicle :). I couldnt be more happier with the service I have received at pro automotive. -Brian Culpepper

After reading both reviews I decided to give this place a chance, since I found a coupon through my Entertainment coupon book. I read all the fine print, it stated 20% off any auto service. I took my flat tire in & was told to leave it & they would call me when ready. That is a first I have ever been told to leave & continue driving on my spare, every other place fixes right away or at the most it takes an hour because they have a lot of other customers before me. This place did not call me for 4 hours! They then told me they could not repair my tire, and had to order a tire so I would not have a tire until sometime the next day, all for just under $150 (plus they said they couldnt honor my coupon). This did not make me or my husband happy & after discussing & many recommendations from friends, I went & picked up my tire & took it to Les Schwab. Thank God I did! My tire was repairable & it was free (since they are the original manufacturer tires) all in under 20 minutes!

Came here for a brake job and then later for an oil change and an alignment. Gary actually took me out into the garage to show me first hand why my front discs needed to be replaced, but also showed me that the rears were OK. Overall brake job was good and they gave me a first time customer discount. Would have been a four star review after this visit. Alignment was slightly expensive, and my car had an obvious pull to the right afterwards. Called to figure out why. At first Gary was defensive saying the alignment was perfect, but after talking with him for a bit he was reasonable and told me to bring the car back in. He said it was radial tire pull, he had his mechanic do something to the car free of charge, then I was back on the road. Not a bad experience by any means, just could have gone more smoothly if they had test driven the car after their alignment job.

The worst experience I have ever had at a car shop. I went in early morning, letting them know that I needed to leave for work in 6 hours with a working car. He assured me it would be done. After hanging around most of the day for parts, he tells me that the parts I need wont be in until the morning and I have to leave the car there. I had to take a cab to work, and home, and get a ride to Midas in the morning. My car was finished before too long and ran well, but the brakes, rotors, and new caliper came up to $1250!! I was extremely unsatisfied with the high price, but it came with $100 rebate so I took that as a minor win. However, the service rep did not provide me with the warranty information (I was under the impression that there was no warranty!) so I did not even get my rebate. Do not shop here, there is a much better auto shop right down the street.

I went there for a second opinion after going to the Les Schwab down the street. They not only quoted me a much lower price than Les Schwab, but also explained why some of the repairs that they had told me were necessary were not needed AT ALL. Not only that, but once they figured out that my van was still under manufacturer's warranty, they refused to do the work, even though it was $600 they wouldn't get, and they set things up for me at Gilchrist Chevrolet to have the factory warranty service performed there. Overall these people were exceptionally helpful, informative, and above all, honest. I would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend this shop to my closest friends and family, or anyone that needs their car repaired at an honest price and doesn't want to worry about getting ripped off.

I had starting issues with my car, so I called them up, My Ex took her car there and they took good care of her, they were honest and did not try and railroad her, just because she was a woman who did not know anything about cars. and their prices are very reasonable, I was quoted a price, was kept informed about the condition of my vehicle, Mitch was very compassionate and gave me a break on the price knowing that money was an issue, he was willing to work out a deal with me, but he did the work that was needed an only that. I would recommend them to anyone as a matter of fact I will take my car no where else from now on. Its hard to find honest auto repairmen these days, so these guys are a gem, very cheerful and polite my car is on the road again, and im happy, they did a fast and great job.
