I went to the Brake Shop because they had excellent "word of mouth" around town. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience there. Steve came in on a Sunday to do the brakes all the way around on my 2007 Honda Ridgeline. Who even does that anymore?! He worked on the truck by himself and still had all four brakes done in under an hour and a half. Steve was able to do the entire job for the price quoted for only two wheels by another not to be named shop. Its nice to know there are still a few business men out there who arent trying to batter every customer with high mechanic bills every time someone walks in their door. Steve does honest work for an honest price. You have to really admire him for that. He treats you like hed treat himself. My wife and I will be taking our Toyota Solara to him for its brake job soon, and we will always use him for brakes as long as his shop is in business.

Steve could have killed me with his poor quality brake exam. I took my vehicle in because the brake peddle was spongy and I was worried. (On a Monday) A few days later (that same Thursday) my brake peddle started going all the way to the floor. I took my vehicle into HazelDell Muffler and Brakes. They informed me that not only was my main cylinder in need of replacing, but the emergency brake was disconnected and the both wheel cylinders needed replaced as well. Dont take your vehicle to Steve unless you are willing to chance the safety of you and your family. Brakes are important and should work properly. Its not like it is hard to tell that an emergency brake is disconnected and a customer should be told about situations like that. I WILL NOT TRUST STEVE WITH THE LIVES OF ME AND MY FAMILY EVER AGAIN!!!!

After being quoted $500 from another shop in town, I found The Brake Shop and was quoted $260 for rear brakes + rotors. I was skeptical at first since the price was so much lower than the other quote but when we arrived the shop was professional and clean so we decided to get the work done. Not only did Steve get us in and out 30 minutes quicker than quoted (we were on a tight schedule) but he was able resurface our rotors rather than replace them. Steves honesty saved us $100 as we were only charged $160 for the job which we were quoted $260 for. I have recommended this shop to all my friends and I will continue to use them for all my service needs. After over a month of daily driving (plus a long road trip) the brakes are performing flawlessly. Thanks again Steve, highly recommend.

Its nice dealing with the owner operator of a service business who is honest, fair and cares. I made first contract with Steve over the phone for a verbal estimate for brakes on my truck; he explained all the potential issues up front and gave me a worse case estimate, including ALL costs; not a low-ball estimate to get me in, only to surprise me with additional costs after getting me in the shop. This was very refreshing. He got me in right away, and I didnt get that surprise phone call about additional work that needs to be done! I picked up my, earlier than promised, for the exact amount as quoted; and Im very happy with the job. I would recommend The Brake Shop without reservation to any of my family or friends! Thank you Steve for the very positive experience!

Hi folks I just thought I would write to warn people against going to the brake shop, I went to the brake shop for preventive maintnance to have my brakes checked out and they charged me $500 for the job...with in 2 days my brakes where smoking and in worse condition than they where in before I went to The brake shop, and when I called in about the warrenty they provided on their work they told me they could fix the problem for an additional $120..... so becareful their wareties are not worth the paper they are written on... if you dont want to be screwed dont go to this place

I recently had a heater hose break right before the holiday weekend. I was able to bring in my car on Saturday. The heater hose was ordered and installed and ready to go by Wednesday! This was extremely important since I was starting a new job. I have been getting my car repaired at The Brake Shop for about 2 years now. The customer service and technical expertise of the mechanics is beyond excellent! If you need your car/truck repaired this is the place to go. The people at all levels at The Brake Shop are honest, and go way above and beyond to assist you.

I went to Les Schwab to get my brakes done....after waiting an hour I was told the cost and it would be 4 hours....I called The Brake Shop talked to Steve. Steve said he could look at it at 12:30, I drove my truck to the Brake Shop an hour early knowing I would have to wait....but Steve looked at it right away, quoted me a price...I got my front and back brakes done for less than Les Schwab wanted to charge me just for the back brakes. Thank you Steve...Definitely recommend you and if I need you again I will be back

Ive been taking my cars to The Brake Shop for years and would highly recommend Steve and the work he does. I now live in Hillsboro but still go out of my way to bring my business to Steve because of the numerous positive experiences I have had thus far. Many shops will recommend work that is not necessary just to bring in more money. Steve will give you an honest assessment and in many cases you will walk out of there spending less than you thought you would. Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!

Id give this Guy a negative score if I could and if this review prevents one person from using this classless business than that would be great!!! Guy charged 15 Dollars to Jump start a Van for a customer of ours, and was a complete jerk and unprofessional towards my customer. Something that I would do, no questions asked, for nothing he has the gall to charge 15 bucks. Took a couple minutes. I would have to say pass on giving this classless fool any of your hard earned money.

I manage a fleet of vehicles and Steve is the only place I use in the PDX/Vancouver area for brakes, for the last 18 months or so. He is honest, does an excellent job, and stands behind his work. Ive had quotes from other brake shops, then taken it in to have Steve quote me, and several times he has saved me hundreds of dollars in work that the other guys said I needed, but in fact it was not necessary. I totally trust him - something that I cant say about many other shops.

This was the best auto repair experience. I knew I had an issue with my PT Cruiser brakes and was expecting bad news since I have a lot of miles on the car. But it turned out to be such a good day - I was out the door for $160 which repaired my brakes and replaced brake lights that were out. Steve is honest and reliable and it is such a good feeling to find someone you can trust, especially when you move to a new city. I strongly recommend his business.
