Trusted AAMCO with Costly Repair, yet SCREWED OVER with their Loan Sharking Creditor I have been going to AAMCO for years because they provide quick, reliable service and their work is typically warrantied/guaranteed. However, this time was different. They took 4 weeks to repair my vehicle’s transmission because they couldn’t find a computer for my 2005 jeep. I will give them kudos for communicating with me, but with the service and the cost, I was screwed financially! My rental car cost - $395 My total cost on the transmission and jeep computer $4200 They told me that I could get financing since it was so expensive – which would make my life easier. My other option was to trade the jeep in. I trusted them and went for the financing totaling $3,000. The other $1200 would be paid directly to AAMCO. The Office Manager told me that I was instantly approved by the Creditor LOAN HERO (parent company) via TEMPOE LLC and that my payments would come out of my checking account via debit card once month. He took my first payment and said that I would be receiving paperwork from them and that they were flexible to reduce my monthly payment if it was too high. It was $271 and yes, I would prefer it to be around $200. At the same time I was also going to pay AAMCO $200 a month for the remaining $1200. After a month, I saw that my checking account was overdrafted. The overdraft was because TEMPOE LLC took money too early. I then decided to call them only to find out that they would be taking $271 EVERY OTHER FRIDAY! I was furious! That was NOT was I agreed to or was told! So, that cost me per month - $742 a month and sometimes $1,013 – if you add up the $271 every other Friday and the $200 a month I would be paying AAMCO. Who could afford that? NOT ME and most likely no one. When I called the Office Manager, he agreed that no one could afford that and said there must have been a mistake and that he and Loan Hero would help me. Instead they hurt me – financially! I called Loan Hero and they couldn’t find my account! I then called TEMPOE LLC and they told me that they would be taking bi-monthly payments for 5 months! I never agreed to that! I then called AAMCO again, telling them about the terms I did not agree too. First, I never saw the paperwork and didn’t receive it for over a month. While at AAMCO, I didn’t sign anything or see any documents. It trusted what the Office Manager said – payment once a month and the creditor was flexible to reduce my account. I fought with Tempoe and they would not put a manger on the line and ended up hanging up on me. I received NO calls from AAMCO either and when I started calling them, they did NOT return my calls, they also stopped answering their phones! I assume they have caller ID. So I went to my bank and cancelled the debit card, borrowed money from friends, family and my retirement to pay Tempoe off. I WILL NEVER WORK WITH AAMCO again! SHADY service with no accountability whatsoever! Especially for the fact they wont’ take my calls or even help! Personally since it’s a franchise, their owner should have paid the $3k. Then I wouldn’t be hurting financially to the point of a possible bankruptcy! AAMCO provides a good service if you can afford it, but YOU BETTER READ the Fine Lines of any credit documents they offer and if verbally – you may get screwed! Because I did - the paperwork / so-called agreement mentioned the bi-monthly, 5 month terms were in very small print at the bottom – which I received a month later! This was loansharking at its best. DO NOT USE AAMCO CREDIT ACCOUNTS, unless it’s CareCredit! As for AAMCO, I’m done using your service. You did nothing but hurt financially and ignore my request for assistance!

I had my transmission rebuilt and purchased the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. It took them four months to finish the work. Then, three months later (maybe just a few thousand miles tops) I already needed warranty work. They refused to cover the costs despite the warranty, but eventually, after causing enough of a scene, they did so. Now, about a year later (maybe 9,000 miles) something inside the trany has gone and it cant go past 50 mph. They are, once again, refusing to pay for the work; saying its not warranty related despite the damage being INSIDE the trany. They are also saying that, all-of-the-sudden, I never purchased the warranty. When I countered this lie, he said I actually had a 12-month warranty!!! WTF!!! Their story and reasons keep changing but the underlining problem is their work is SUB-STANDARD and they continue to refuse to pay for the repairs to a transmission that they just rebuilt. P.S. During the initial rebuild they did on my trany, their management changed twice. When I came back for the first warranty work their management had changed again. Now, when I went back for this latest problem, they have changed management several times since once again!! They keep changing management in order to refuse prior warranty work due to loss of paperwork, miscommunication, and boldface lies. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO AAMCO!!! DO NOT GET THEIR WARRANTY!!! THEY WILL SIMPLY CHANGE MANAGEMENT (BY SWITCHING THEM FROM ANOTHER STORE) AND LIE TO YOU ABOUT YOUR WARRANTY!!!

I took my Ford Explorer in for a diagnosis - Id had 3 other garages tell me different things ranging from needing 4 wheel bearings to a new front differential - all about or over $2000. I called AAMCO in Milwaukie for another opinion and spoke to their local manager - Paul, he was helpful and booked me in - I had a tight schedule and he got me in and out of their garage as promised. What happened next was refreshing... Their mechanic spent a considerable amount of time analyzing what was wrong with the vehicle - including 2 test drives. He came out of the shop and said that he could not justify taking any of my money - he did not think there was anything wrong with the vehicle (he demonstrated why with various explanations). He also suspected the other garages were going to rip me off. This location was pleasant, very friendly and they did not try to rob me. I will return here for any routine maintenance and cant recommend them enough - well done for being super honest. All that plus other advise for my vehicle at no cost for that particular visit.

Had to choose a place to get my transmission worked on last fall and after having read the owners response to some of the reviews here, thought I would give them a try. While I have some understanding of auto repair, still have to rely on trust quite a bit in choosing someone to work on my car. So, I gave these guys a shot. The repair experience went as planned. While I wasnt crazy about the cost of getting it repaired, it seemed in line with what I could find as far as comparing went. I was asked to bring the vehicle back in after a few weeks to check the work, which I did. In December, the transmission began to leak a little, and then more and more. Finally got it in by late January and they took care of it under the warrantee. I was very satisfied with the outcome, as they very easily could have told me is was something else that wasnt covered. So, Aamco in Milwaukie has earned my trust and I believe they will do a fine job for anyone as they are really trying to build customer satisfaction.
