Only went because a friend recommend them to me because they do offer loaner cars to you while they work on your car. I went the first time to get my car fixed because it was not starting. And when I got it back they told me there was another issue with it, with the tensionor and pulley, it was bent. Also saying that its making a noise. I did not have that problem when I brought it in. Only after they fixed it. I had already paid a lot of money getting it fix the first time and then had to bring it back a second time for that problem. I brought it in the second time and they estimated it to be around $300 dollars. I was ok with that. I get a phone call the next day after I already brought my car in to hear them say it will be twice as much for it to get fixed!! They had already taken it apart and everything that is what they told me over the phone telling me its baddy bent. Which is what they had told me in the beginning as to what is wrong with it telling me it is ranged to be $300 to fix. I was not pleased to hear that news. Im giving 3 stars because they do the work and I havent had a problem with my car braking down on me... yet. Word to the wise they are money hungry, I looked online at the top brand parts for my car. Not nearly as much as what they told me what it costs. I also talked to a dealership and they are cheaper for my car. I will be going there next time I have an issue. Also they say you dont have to pay for the loaner car but only put gas in it. But when you look at the bill you can see where all your money really goes too. "Shop supplies". Youre basically paying more then what you need to.

I am really disappointed with this shop. Very rarely do I post negative reviews, but I feel like I need to share my experience with this one. My first time at the shop a couple of years ago was fine, so when my check engine light came on I went back to K&M. I had read so many positive reviews that I felt I could trust them. They did the initial diagnosis and called to say it was something to do with my transmission. They asked my permission to open it up and find out what was going on, which I said yes go ahead. Then they called back and told me that the valve body of my transmission had gone bad and that I needed a full transmission rebuild. I was shocked as my car is only 5 years old with only 85k miles on it and has been well taken care of.They quoted me a price of about $3800! I took it to another shop for a 2nd opinion, and they went into the transmission and found a part that needed replaced. However, they told me that it was apparent that NO ONE HAD EVER GONE INSIDE THERE by how tight the bolts were, etc so therefore could not have actually done the diagnostic necessary to determine the need for a rebuild (which was in fact not needed!) They replaced the part and my spark plugs and saved me over $2500. Now the car is running great. Im so glad I got that 2nd opinion and unfortunately will not be returning to K&M. I am not sure what the motive was for being dishonest and Im disappointed that I was not given the great service that so many of these reviews report. They get 2 stars instead of 1 for the gal at the front desk being friendly.

Have been going to K&M since sometime in 2005 (?) when Matt was running the office (guess they call that an Order Writer) and doing repairs both. Keenan was the only other mechanic I remember and these guys worked hard and fast to get cars in and out. Darrels Muffler (another good group of guys) referred me to them after inspecting my Explorer and telling me that I needed a mechanic not a muffler. Best thing that ever happened to me. Thanks to the guys at Darrels. Have had several car issues that the specialty repair shops, dealerships and other mechanics could not fix but, Matt & Keenan got all the cars running and the issues have never come back. And, it was cheaper than the all the other quotes! I have referred family, co-workers and perfect strangers to K&M and they have all been very happy. Always keep a couple of their cards in my wallet with my email on the back so people can tell if they are happy with them or not. I will not refer anyone any place if I or anyone else has a bad experience. My family has since moved from the 50th street location to the 122nd location. Scott, Mike, Matt G. & Ryan are all great guys. They are upfront, honest and easy to work with. Have had about $4000 worth of work done on 5 different vehicles (Explorer, Focus, Camry, Volvo, F150) in the last few months and am very happy. They told me what repairs could wait and what needed done now. What I like is that these guys are REAL mechanics not those dealership robots. They have the experience needed to get a vehicle back on the road.

They are simply the best. Im driving my van and Im about ready to call Jerry and ask him what the hell he and Scott did to my Kia Sedona. It runs better than it did when I bought it and it gets better gas mileage! After getting the run around from the dealership service department I finally got smart and took my family van to a REAL mechanic. These guys are the best at what they do and they do it right. Also gave us a loaner vehicle so we could get the kids to school, etc. A 1000 year old, beat up Camry but I am not complaining. It was free and you could tell the guys used the car heavy and maintained it. That Camry is a testament to what these guys can do. My van is testifying right now. You want the job done right, you go to K and M. Oh and Scott worked overtime with my service contract to make sure repairs covered under warranty were actually covered under warranty. These guys didnt give me a long list of "things to fix later" like the dealer. They didnt pull that BS with CV Boots every shady shop tries on suckers like you and me. And they didnt charge me 140 bucks for spark plugs. That alone has my confidence - the service, attitude and the performance of my van sealed the deal.

I got a $20 off coupon for which was also good for an oil change. I called into the shop to see how much the job would cost with the coupon and the front desk said it was normally $20 but with the coupon it would be free. I thought this was a great way to try out a new shop and see what there advertised 5 star service looked liked so I schedule an appointment. When I pulled into their 50th Ave shop their driveway about takes off your bummer which I observed other customers experienced this same issue when driving in. Once I got to the front counter I was informed that the oil change was going to be $35 normally and with the $20 coupon then the final cost would be $15. I was very disappointed and asked for the phone quote to be honored since that is why I made the appointment. Consumers beware of this coupon in your mailbox. If a store will be dishonest to get in then what will they do when they are working on our car? Will the work be done correctly? Will they take you on the price? I will not be returning to this shop and do not recommend them. Honesty and making your quote good should be top.
