I drove into this shops parking lot with a beat-up dirty old fifth generation Honda Civic with miscellaneous issues and a fried engine which was suffering from the aftermath of a blown gasket, burning oil, blowing smoke out of its tailpipe, rattling, and ready for the junkyard... I drove out of this shops parking lot with a squeaky clean (Al, the current manager went above and beyond by having detailing work done--at no cost to me. My car looked and smelled fresher than it has in years!!) car fitted with a reman engine (with a no-fault 3 year warranty which covers labor--and by getting me in direct contact with the supply shop, Al helped me save some $$), a new clutch, new muffler, and a few new little misc parts. It drives real smooth and quiet. Beautiful, like a dream. I appreciated the speed with which Al the got work done on my car, his desire to save me money where possible, and his willingness to work after store hours to make sure he could get my car back to me within the time he had promised. He clearly knows A LOT, is efficient, has a strong work ethic, and a thousand watt smile!. I also appreciated Kim, who works the front desk. She was professional, super patient, helpful, and, like Al, was willing to work outside store hours to make sure I got my car back. Really great customer service! Oh, and Kim also has a great genuine smile. To be honest I was a little disappointed some unexpected problems caused some delays, and the total cost of parts and labor was more than the amount which I had been quoted. To make up for this, Al graciously offered to trim off some of the shop labor, which I thought was more than fair. So the 5/5 rating was redeemed. Thank you Al, thank you Kim, and thank you to the rest of the crew. I love living in a city where I have the option of riding my bike or the bus, I am really really happy to have my car back and really appreciate all of your hard work!

On a Saturday in August of 2015, I had to get a new catalytic converter for my 1998 Dodge Dakota. I was on a road trip to Seattle to see one of my favorite people whom just had MAJOR abdominal surgery when my old one finally conked out. I went to the Meineke on SE 82nd between Holgate and Powell. They replaced it, without an appointment, and I was back on the road in a couple hours. Fast forward to the latter part of October of the same year. My truck began losing power, bogging down and not accelerating or shifting properly. I thought my transmission was dying or my engine was some how losing compression as it would not go over 30 mph. I took truck to my regular mechanic and he informed me that the wrong size catalytic converter was installed and had in fact, melted. Its dead, Jim. (Yes. Im a geek.) Since it was still under warranty, I went back to Meineke and informed them of their mistake. I offered to pay the difference cause I knew the proper sized catalytic converter was going to be about $200.00 more than the one I originally purchased. The manager was adamant that it was Meinekes fault and I was not going to pay a penny for my inconvenience. Now thats what I call customer service! Later the same day, I had my truck back and all was right with the world! My thanks again to the manager and crew of Meineke! Because of this exemplary act of customer service, you have now earned a lifetime customer. Yall rock! -Todd B.

Woooow! Where do I even begin! I typically do not write negative reviews, as I am very understanding that people sometimes have off days! However, this situation in particular is ridiculous, so I will just jump write in. This place is the most unprofessional, unorganized, poorly ran establishment. This has been a huge mess since the beginning. They have had our car since Tuesday (its now Saturday) our car cut off while driving and it was towed to the wrong meineke. We did not want to keep it there but we though hey...lets give them a chance. Everything seemed fine on day one....but then, everything went crazy! They ran a diagnostic check, told us it was one thing and changed what it was 3 times, tried to charge 600 dollars for a repair that should only have run about 200. They first ordered the wrong part, then replaced the Wong part and then finally told us hat ohhhh sorry this actually did not need to be fixed, then told us out car was ready, we show up and its still not ready. Today we try to have a conversation about what we need to do to get our car and they threaten to keep it if we dont pay for the work they have already done that they did not need. Worse customer service ever! DO NOT GO HERE! There is another meineke in Happy Valley that is amazing!

I received an email offer this morning for a one day special price oil change for $10 but must be redeemed by 3pm. Instructions say to purchase online, print, then present coupon to business before 3pm. Did not specify I need an appointment. I was prepared to have to wait in line for awhile assuming others had purchased this deal as well. When I arrived just after 11am and presented coupon I was told I need to make an appointment but they have no appointments available before 3pm. I requested a refund which was approved but funds wont be credited for 7-10 days! What a disappointment and waste of time after all. I just think they should have specified that an appointment is required BEFORE purchasing because it doesnt make sense to sell something then not honor what was paid for. In my opinion. :(

I just want to say that this place has the greatest service in town. While under a lot of stress after moving to Portland from Pennsylvania and just trying to get our hood open after my release cable broke, we called and Eric had us come right away without any further questions after explaining our mishap. He got the hood open within 10 minutes of looking at it with barely any tools for super cheap when everyone else in town tried to charge us over $200 for the exact same job. my loyalty will forever be with you guys when it comes to getting my vehicles serviced. I thank you soo much Eric and Meineke, youve even made Portland a better place to me with your compassion towards my urgent need. I recommend them any day and your pockets will stay in tact no matter what your getting done.

Today I had an emergency situation where my AC wasnt working as I was about to get on the road for a cross country trip. Al at Meineke (who was not suppose to be working today) told me to bring it right in. Once I arrived he got me in immediately and explored my options with me. All the while he and his very helpful and attentive sidekick Robert were very patient and understanding of my personal circumstances. They took care of my car in record time! I never felt they were trying to talk me into something I didnt need or deceive me in any way. They are an attentive family friendly place with wonderful customer service. Even thought they were quite busy they were still pleasant a attentive with new customers walking in. My experience with K&C Frost Meineke was THE BEST!
