The staff there especially the female manager Leanna is unhelpful, rude, and doesnt listen to what you say. I unfortunately have a situation that is preventing me from using the gym at this time. I have been a member of planet fitness at another location for years and just recently transferred here. I walked in and cancelled my membership in person with the front desk staff who ensured me the process was complete. A few weeks later, after changing my bank, I was notified via text that I had something wrong with my billing and a payment past due. I called planet fitness the same day and the woman who answered the phone was very nice but told me I had to come in to get this sorted out. I rearranged my schedule that day to make it in there the same day. When I arrived I spoke to the female manager who told me that I owe a passed due balance before I cancel. After confirming that the passed due payment was for this current month I told her my whole story. She then stated without documentation of cancellation I would be forced to pay the passed due fee. I asked her who was supposed to provide the documentation. She said the staff was supposed to do that. I asked her how it was my responsibility to pay the membership fee if I walked in to cancel and her staff failed to document that cancellation. She just kept repeating that with out documentation she couldnt do anything. Then over the phone another staff member Deshawn insisted that I had taken a picture at this location, which is a straight up lie as I had only entered this gym to cancel my membership. I told him that and he repeated that he knew I took a picture at this location

I was ok when my daughter suggested we sign up. I signed up as a black card since I can get a guest in at anytime. The last time I went was 2 weeks ago. The black card spa area was closed due to water damage, the ladies locker room was not accessible. I had not planned on working out but my daughter wanted to. So I left my phone in the car. One of the staff members followed my daughter to her machine and told her she had to sign in. (Mind you Ive been 3-4 times prior to this and they never required it). So I gave my card to sign in, said she wasnt me and insisted we register her as a guest. I did so...I realized at this point I left my phone in the car, so my daughter went to work out. Same guy followed her around hounding her as to if I was going to come back in! Dude I know the rules. I had planned on coming back in, I said loudly in the lobby. "I forgot my phone Ill be right back!" Dude my daughter has issues with gyms we joined this place due to the no judgement policy. We attempted to go this week and found out the gym was closed, due to the water damage and repair being done! I live in Tacoma so it isnt like the gym is far but it isnt close either! I dont like that we (my daughter and I) were made to feel like we were being judged! I have arthritis and when it flares up I like to use your massage chairs. I havent even tried the other items. Now Im waiting for the first payment to come out, as Im locked in a year long contact. Ill have to see if the one near me is nicer/better customer service wise!

I never thought I would give a Planet Fitness 5 stars. But this one deserves it. Ill start by saying if you want a true gym, with actual freeweights and a truly judgment free zone, then find a local gym. Not a local chain, but a locally owned gym. There you will find competitive prices (most of the time), a vast array of free weights and even machines, a hugely supportive community, and a place to truly progress towards your fitness goals. But for others who are caught up in the negative stigmas of what a "bodybuilding" gym is, who need 24 hour access, and who dont have other options for a local gym... Well this is the right Planet Fitness. They are friendly, less busy than other PF gyms, have dumbbells up to 75, and even some other things like battle ropes. You hear some weights being dropped and the occasional grunt. But this gym seems to understand it happens on accident and they let it slide. It doesnt seem to be a habitual habit of anyone to do this, so its generally just typical gym music and the sound of treadmills whirling away. My point is that it is still a Planet Fitness. I still prefer small gyms with free weights. But if this place meets your needs it is the right Planet Fitness to choose. Much better than all of the others I have visited.

I have had a membership with PF for a few years but Im from out of state. I started coming to this location since it was closer to where Im living even though its still a 25 minute drive. EVERY time I come in Im given a hard time. I specifically told the manager that I was from Florida and she wouldnt listen and kept telling me this was my home location. Come to find out tonight they have been checking me in under the wrong person.....why did it take so long for someone to figure it out and even management couldnt get it right. Im going to now look into canceling my membership and sign up with LA Fitness. Its a lot closer and I hope I wont have the same issue and continue to be hassled like I have been here. Its a shame because I like this gym.

i really love the gym, but I wish they would hurry up and reopen soon (hence the 3 stars)! especially with this kind of weather weve been having. there is really not a lot of alternatives to go running outside in the evening and not sure how convenient the other gym alternatives in lacey, renton or tacoma are...some people commute to work to seattle by train and are single parents on top of that...driving out of their way to work out is really not an option. not sure how they can fix a bridge in japan within a 1 week time span after an earthquake, but these gym repairs take forever...hhmm...I will give this one chance

I like it here a lot. However, I have seen kids in there that I know are not 13 and when my 11 year old daughter cant go I think thats crap! I asked a kid one day and he said he was 10! Also a few of the staff members could clean up there attitude a little. For whatever reason I keep getting put in tanning room #5 where I said the headphone jack has been broken for at least a month. My husband tried to tell one of the ladies that the paper towels were out. Her response " What would you like me to do about it". Haha really?! Do you not work there? Then dont be behind the counter!

Great machines, kept clean, staff helpful and friendly. My 2nd favorite part, sorry as it is, time watching my favorite channel, HGTV, which makes the time exercising pass very quickly. While my friend is able to watch her game shows, or talk shows, news, whatever your interest is with 8 choices. Of course my favorite part is working out the kinks afterwards on the massage chairs and beds. Great value for the price. And in less than 2 months, a loss of 17 lbs between exercise and diet improvements. So win, win.
