Not recommended, regret that I hired them as my property management company. The John L. Scott Property Management company of Seattle is incorporated as EMANAR, Inc. As a landlord of a home they lease to tenants, they make many billing errors and are very slow to correct billing mistakes which overcharge me (the landlord) and favor them. If you ask the property manager to do minor follow-up on maintenance or administrative issues theres a good chance John L. Scott Property Management will charge "Miscellaneous Operating Expenses" for the month, I was hit with a $20 just to have the Property Manager follow-up on the status of my financial statement that they are suppose to provide every month . She was nice before she signed the property management agreement but after I signed, she takes days to return my calls and routinely makes billing errors favorable to EMANAR Inc. (i.e. JL Scott). Their property management agreement is highly favorable to them as it gives JL Scott all of the first months rent plus 10% of the monthly rent revenue every month and if you contest any of their mistakes or errors in court the landlord is contractually bound to pay all of JL Scotts (EMANARs) legal expenses even if JL Scott is liable for damages. I regret having John L. Scott Property Management manage my property and am looking forward to the 12 month long property management agreement ending. I would have gone with a different Property Management company had I known they would be so error prone and provide such lousy customer service. Also, notice their fake positive reviews spaced only 30 days apart or less. Their own John L. Scott Property management employees post positive reviews on Google, CitySearch, Yahoo Reviews, etc. with the same posting dates and exact same words. John L. Scott Property Management in Seattle also known as EMANAR Inc. has serious ethics problems. My advice is go with a different property management company in the Seattle or Eastside areas.

Very shady. Broker lied about carpeting in home and wanted us to sign a minimum year lease without even considering our situation... Son with eczema, bad allergies. The home we were approved for definitely had tenants with dogs and when I tried to bring up the smell, Lori denied it without even considering the concern. We backed out of the lease and are very glad that we did. We would have been responsible for the condition of the carpet, regardless of if it was the fault of the previous tenants or not! She said at first the carpet was two years old, and when we asked again, she said it was only a year old... Well which is it? No thank you, we can find somewhere else to rent before we start looking to buy. Sometimes, people dont want to work with you and just want to rent. Well, guess what? Were going to buy from another agency from someone with some actual integrity.

Rude and unprofessional owner/broker. The only reasonable person was the accountant. Would not recommend this company!
