Its high time this system included negative stars. This ridiculous excuse for a gym deserves a minus five or worse. My nostrils were violated by the vileness of an air conditioning system that was nonexistent. Imagine rank, stale, pungent. old, tired, recycled, flaccid testosterone. Thats Golds. As for the lighting, doom and gloom. How did neon get to be so shabby? How wretched the mood, instant depression, a neurological nightmare. One emerges craving daylight. But thats not the worst of it. What a bunch of ugly specimens patronize this temple of muscular repulsiveness. And the staff never visited a charm school this side of the Rocky Mountains. A simple acknowledgment of us when we came to look around would have been sufficient. But that was asking too much. He saw us, ignored us. That should have been warning enough. Even the trip into Golds intimated worse was to follow. The underground car park - noisy, ugly (as many car parks are) - still felt like a place you wouldnt want to visit at night. Then, there is this idiotic mezzanine where one looks down onto the shelves of the store below heaving with candy, potato chips, twinkies, and all manner of preservative-packed, calorie-packed, fat-saturated, diet-busting, good-intention-thwarting distractions. I wouldnt even call them temptations, but after the experience of Golds, the unwary might feel tempted to indulge in a sugar-shot to the brain. Now, dont take my word for it. Do visit. Knock yourself out. Itll be emotional. Any fitness regime is challenging enough without being assaulted and insulted by the environment in which one wishes to achieve serious goals. Whoever designed this gym is an aesthetic illiterate. And last, to compound insult to the obvious injury, when you leave, if you do by car, youll be charged.

I have been a member of several gyms in the area including 24hour fitness, epicenter, and LA Fitness. This gym is sooooo much better than the rest. I have read the reviews and dont know if these people have been to this gym in the last year, but it rocks. They have a new management staff that has really turned this place around. It is clean! I left 24hour Fitness downtown because it was disgusting. The locker rooms were always thrased and smelled. I walked in on very inappropriate conduct in the mens locker room at 24 on two different occasions. I just stopped going at night because it was hook up heaven. Golds is not like that at all. They have a janitor on most of the day cleaning and fixing stuff. They just got all brand new cardio equipment and that stuff rocks. Parking is super easy. Its the same parking lot as QFC and is only a dollar after 6pm and if I buy groceries, its free. The gym is laid out in a good easy to use fashion. Im use to waiting for free weights at most gyms, but I never have to wait here. The group x room is always open to be used and has a ton of toys to use in there. I love the punching bag. Its rarely ever crowded like most gyms. And its not cruisy like other gyms. People are here to workout, not socialize. The trainers regularly offer tips and suggestions while people are working out. I never see them try to sell people on the workout floor. This place is great. I have recommended this gym to most of my office and neighbors. They have in turned recommended it to other friends. This is the best gym in Seattle.

Golds Gym is amongst a selective list of Capitol Hills iconic neighborhood establishments, such as Dicks, The Laughing Buddha and Roy Street Coffee. Capitol Hill is a lively, vivacious block composed of diversified cultures and individuals; if you love working out, Golds Gym is synonymous with the neighborhood it occupies. Located right above QFC on Broadway and E Harrison (street for parking), Golds staff is organically pleasant and positive. The first things to catch your eye may be the facilitys cleanliness, volume of equipment, and seemingly endless space; yet, what sold me was the content and strength of the good vibes and energy I felt at the gym. I havent been a member long, for which reason I cannot speak on behalf of those who have had poor experiences. Ive never had a problem with billing; even if I did, the club itself surpasses minor membership discrepancies and human mistake. I love to work out, and every member Ive met (including the gorgeous IFBB Pro Stephanie Billings, to drop a name) has the same upbeat, positive attitude towards fitness and health as I do. Come join us :)

Great gym with nice machines...until you try to cancel your membership. In January I had a small skiing accident and my doctor told me no gym for six months. Notice the date of this post...yeah, ITS JUNE. Guess who is still trying to stop the emails and bills? Just like many gym chains, Golds Gym makes money by making cancelling a membership ridiculously, infuriatingly complicated. The staff have no power, the ownership/management is mostly absent and, when present, they have failed as promised to stop the billing and harassment. WE HAD TO CHANGE BANKS BECAUSE WE COULDNT GET THEM TO STOP CHARGING US. I showed up after with the canceled debit card and told them they could keep it now. Ive tried everything including calling the "company" that "manages their membership." Ive been polite. Ive made a scene. Ive threatened a bad review which I am now proudly delivering. I know the old Ballys Fitness gyms got sued once for these kinds of behavior. I think its time Golds learns about class-actions...

Ive been going to Golds - Cap Hill for about five years. You cant really beat the location, if you live on the hill. Its located right on Broadway, and directly above QFC, so you can pick up your post-workout dinner after your session. I recently started a 90 day challenge, and the different trainers at the club have been super helpful, and supportive. They put a team together, and we ran the Howe street stairs last weekend, and will be doing a 5K around Seward Park tomorrow. Its awesome to know that I have a support system for my general health and fitness. My main point of contact at the gym is Vince. Vince is the general manager of this location. Hes always got a smile on his face, and is happy to answer any workout/diet questions you have. The gym is clean, and fully loaded with equipment and classes. As a member of the Cap Hill community, its also nice seeing the Golds crew out on Broadway each year for Pride, and getting involved in the community.

One of my friends told me about this spot on Capital Hill, said It was the best Gym in Washington. I was looking for a gym near by so I stopped bye, two minutes later the manager showed me around the facility, put me through a workout, and then got me started on a really great price. I was amazed truly, they had machines I have never even seen before, and Ive been working out at gyms since I was thirteen! New cardio equipment all with Touch Screen TVs that I could connect my IPod too, an amazing outside area where I can sprint in the sun or get some space in one of their private studios. Im gonna hit up my friends that go to other gyms to come here and get them grinding in this gym. I dont believe any gym in the area is like Golds, they have great equipment(yes) but they also have an awesome staff and have a bunch of group exercise classes. You have to stop by!
