I’m new to kettlebells so while I was in Seattle seeing family, I searched for Kettlebell trainer and the Seattle Kettlebell Club popped up. I contacted Nikolai and signed up for 2 privates as it fit my weekend schedule better than the classes. My goal was to make my swings more fluid as everything felt jerky (snatch, clean, ect), and learn some new moves. I’m a ex swimmer and have been doing cross fit for 2 years now. He is an excellent coach. He slowed the whole swing down for me, and more importantly, he got everything to “click”. Kettlebell swinging requires a lot of finesse as there is a lot of subtitle movements that can be easily missed. I was having a hard time getting a smooth down swing from the snatch position, and a smooth clean. He slowed that down for me, gave me some tips and after very little time, was able to get my snatch much more efficient. With anything I was doing wrong, he was able to diagnosis it instantly and tell me how to dial it in. He even exposed me to some competition stuff and pace work which was nice to try. After 2 sessions, I ended up signing up for a 3rd day in a row, and I can’t wait to go back to Seattle to drop into some of the classes. If I lived in Seattle I would be a member. I can’t recommend this place enough. Kettlebells are not only fun, but offer a ton of variety to a workout all while making fat melt away. You are lucky to have the Seattle Kettlebell Club in your back yard!
