Most bouldering space I have ever seen, and I travel to a lot of gyms. Before climbing, I rented two crash pads over the weekend. It was easy, and the staff was great. On a Sunday afternoon, the gym was busy but not crowded. I had no problem getting on the problems, And I really enjoyed the color system. I think it more accurately reflects what you would see outdoors. It is all a spectrum. In gyms with classic rating scale, I will find sometimes I flash a v4 and other times I cant get past that first move. I can send v5s in some gyms, but in others, I have to project for a 3. The color system lets me get out of my head. I think I climb better. Anyway, great gym, great problems, great atmosphere, great staff, and clean.

I came to Seattle for a short vacation and wasnt disappointed I made the time to come here. I have climbed for the past three years and been to about a dozen different indoor climbing gyms. As someone who has never really cared for top-roping or lead, this is my favorite gym that I have been to. The facility is enormous, very clean, and the routes are interesting and fun. A common problem climbing gyms face is that parents tend to bring their children and turn them loose like theyre at a playground, but the Bouldering Project handles that well by having a large, separate play area just for kids. Love this gym. Others should use it as a model of what a gym can be.

A few years ago we ran into a homeless person in the SBP parking lot. He struggled to get his cart of possessions up the hill to Rainier ave. As we approached him we noted half a dozen customers who walked past, heads turned so as to not acknowledge his existence. Once we finished helping him push his cart up the hill, while enduring some curious looks of disgust from other customers, we went into the gym. Upstairs we noticed a new art exhibit "Just say Hi" or something to that effect. It was a series of homelessness portraits, with the tagline encouraging viewers to interact with them as humans. Seems like SBP customers may be short on humanity.

I recently started going to the SBP and it took me less than a month to commit to a full year here. This place is such a gem. The amount of space for bouldering is huge! Expect new problems every week and there is always a large number of routes for all ability levels. The cost of the monthly/yearly membership includes all the classes which is a huge plus. I recently started the all levels yoga class and even though Im a yoga novice the instructors are great for all levels. There is a great no-nonsense gym downstairs as well. I definitely recommend SBP as a climbing gym to anyone interested in bouldering with so much more!

I was very impressed with the routes, size, low price and the friendly people there! ...and then we went downstairs and saw more bouldering routes, a yoga studio, weight room, crash pads for rent, a full bar and restaurant with a delicious vegan jackfruit "pulled pork" sandwich and many kombucha options! I absolutely love this place!! One downside is its v hot in here in certain places...ventilation could be worked on and the grading can be confusing at first (color coded). Each color band also is hugely variable in difficulty, I can send one red easily but have a lot of trouble with a yellow (two bands below).

This gym has one of the best climbing atmospheres in Seattle. The staff and climbers are a joy to be around, classes (yoga, strength training, etc) are included in your day pass and they have a very extensive work out gym you can use. The only thing I have found lacking is long routes to work on endurance. The way they build their routes also makes it difficult to traverse and make your own long route (I believe this is mostly due to the large crowds they have and not wanting to take up a lot of wall space with a traverse). I feel this climbing gym is well worth the price.

This gym is every climbers dream. I went from Planet Granite in Los Angeles to SBP and I know I can take my climbing to the next level here. The training area is unlike most climbing gyms, they have everything from a moon board to revolving climbing walls. They have an incredible amount of routes, so you wont get bored spending a day there. That being said, I cant say too much about the community just yet. So far Im very impressed by the gym itself, but everyone seems to stay in their own groups. Definitely a different feel from my last gym.

Awesome gym. Awesome climbs. The gym layout is awesome, with some really great potential for fun routes. They really maximize the wall height here.. Its either a high ball, or a slightly shorter top out. They also do a great job maintaining the holds; they arent super chalked or overly glassy. The grading system is a little funny... (Instead of a V-Scale they use a color grade system. White is V0/V1, yellow V1/V2...) but its kind of refreshing to not worry quite so much about the grade.

Ok this was and should be five stars. Unfortunately I think this is a case of they have got too popular for their own good. Right now there is too many people, climb density is down, there are very few beginner climbs and the regulars have a habit of hanging around "working a problem".. Making the place hard to move around or get to some newer climbs. Over the last year they even removed a wall and didnt replace it... Love hate relationship right now (but I have a years membership)

I climb here twice a week and its great. The climbing routes are excellent; there are different walls with a good variety of pitches, problems, variety. SBP has a great community. I also like that you pay the gym membership and everything at SBP is included in that price. Weight/cardio room, wifi, yoga and climbing classes, theres a lounge are, kids area, showers with towels, lockers...I hear theyre putting in saunas...

I just moved up to Seattle and am very impressed with everything about this gym (except the location, which actually isnt all that bad). I found a ton of fun routes in the v4-6 range. The price was 10$ cheaper per month than the other gyms I checked out in Seattle, and the gym itself was much better. Also, there are free yoga classes. Im happy I took the time to find this place

This place is so awesome. Great routes, great community vibes, great space! Dont forget to check out the basement floor for more routes. This gym is bigger than it looks with tons of room for lots of routes. They have a little cafe too, serving cheap comfort foods like grilled cheese and pizza. Perfect for the hungry climber! Theres even a sauna in the bathroom! Whaaaat.

Great bouldering gym with an extensive training area and a cafe/bar. The atmosphere is inclusive and supportive but still laid-back. Staff are friendly and the routes are interesting. Plenty of bouldering problems, plus a host of hangboards, treadwall, moonboard, crack training wall, rice buckets, and pretty much anything else you could want to train on.
