I have used this location for many years, recommended this location to all of our clients over the years, and never seemed to have any issues (barring the theft I had heard about here and there). A couple of weeks ago I rented a space from Rose and the gang, and today I found my unit had been broken into. The unit was completely trashed, boxes rummaged through, and many items missing (including a 60" flat screen). After closer inspection of the door, it was clear that someone pried the door open from the bottom, allowing them access without have to take the lock out. I spoke with the office staff to see what I should do next.... they handed me an insurance brochure, and told me to file a police report. The manager mentioned that there was some early morning activity on my access code (445am), so I asked to see the footage. The footage they showed me consisted of a man in a white pick up truck pulling up to the gate just after 445am, jumping over the gate, punching in my access pin on the inside keypad, and then jumping back in his truck to drive down to the storage facility as the gate opened. Twenty minutes later.... the man in the truck punched my access code in again at the interior keypad, and sped off with with a truck bed full of items. Since I have had my access code and storage keys locked in my car for the past few weeks, this leaves me wondering about a couple of things.... Why was I not contacted by the facility when this strange activity occurred (since they knew exactly what to show me when I came in today to report the burglary)? How much did the staff get paid for leaking my access code to a low-life thief? Police report has been filed, claim to insurance is in the works... and definitely never sending any of my business to this facility again. This incident will be a great sales pitch on why not to store with Public Storage at 14900 Aurora Ave N (unless you are trying to get rid of those unwanted items). Jake

1 1/2 weeks ago, my Public Storage facility sold off my family heirlooms and grand piano for a debt they claimed I owed. Under the WA state self-storage lien laws, a bill was passed in 2007 tightening the laws for folks like myself against the wishes of the storage facililties of America. 3 points I want to call out that they failed to understand before you rent with this facility: 1st) I have a confirmation # of payment made via their automated phone system which they obviously do not check 2nd) there is a 42 day time frame (waiting period) before they are allowed to sell your belonings which hadnt happened (and a new bill which has passed in the Senate for extending it from 42 to 180 -- woohoo for WA state Senator!!! and 3)the law states I am entitled to my personal belongings, paperwork, photos etc. They havent even made any contact with me about these items = I have phoned twice much to no avail 4)Also entitled to know that they didnt sell my stuff to themselves or other Public storage employees, as they law prohibits that as well as 5) they were required to hold a public auction in which I was to be notified of date and time - this didnt happen or I would have been able to stop it showing payment made many many months ago. Ultimately, I want my things back. For the $600 they claimed I owed, they "supposedly" sold off, amongst other things, a grand piano worth $15K, I know I cannot take this to small claims court, due to the value of my belongings sold. If anyone has other ideas, I welcome comments. My mother has passed as has my 2 aunts. Many of those items were family hand me downs and heirlooms, some valuable and some extraordinarily meaningful, more so than any dollar amount. Since I have a conf # of payment coupled with the original contract which shows they registered me for auto-bill pay regardless, wouldnt that protect someone from this occuring? With this facility, it does NOT! Buyer beware.

Nothing but thiefs! Charged me for their screw-up and refused to reverse the charge when presented clear and irrefutable evidence it was 100% their fault. It is the last straw. I will NEVER EVER do business with them again. PERIOD! I feel for Sassydatachic below. Ive had other problems with these guys in the past and they are abusive and unsympathetic. The laws need to be totally revamped to protect from the gross injustices of these dirtbags. If you havent paid by the 4th, they lock you out and block all access to your stuff. If you get behind because youre struggling like so many out there these days, they refuse to work with you. They could care less and will just sell EVERYTHING IN YOUR UNIT as the only resolution. Can you imagine if this was how you were treated at your apartment?! Locked out of your apartment and on the street on the 5th. EVERYTHING SINGLE THING YOU OWN sold a month and a half later WITH NO OTHER RECOURSE! It is the biggest scam out there. Youre not just evicted, YOURE EVISERATED! I understand that they are providing a valuable service and of course deserve to be paid for it. But their resolution for someone who may be struggling, is to SEIZE EVERYTHING THEY OWN JUST 5 DAYS AFTER RENT IS DUE AND SELLING ALL OF IT WITH NO CONCERN OR COMPASSION to how they are DEVASTATING an individuals or a familiys life. It is the most unbalanced, unfair injustice imaginable. There needs to be a fair solution out there for BOTH parties and laws that protect from these scumlords DROPPING A BOMB on your life. And they WILL DO IT, without even giving it a second thought. There is a special place in hell reserved for these scumbags. Avoid at all cost dealing with these guys.

This was our first storage unit experience, and we ended up keeping the unit for more than 2 years. This location is clean and well-run, and as far as we could tell, completely safe. A couple weeks after we moved in, I spent a long day organizing the unit, ending pretty late in the evening. I was tired, and not only did I leave the unit unlocked, I left the door open! A big garage door on a full exterior unit, completely open all night. When I returned sometime the next day, not a single item had moved. Maybe a leaf or two had blown in. Another few details that may be useful. They constructed a new building while we were there. Access was always maintained to our unit, which was located past the construction in the far corner of the complex. Our 10 x 25 unit was the full size advertised, and over 12 tall! That was a very pleasant surprise, since Ive since seen other units that are only 8 tall and have 20% less floor area than advertised. Also, inside our unit there was a light fixture about 6 up near the door, with a single bulb and an outlet integrated into the fixture. Very handy for vacuuming or charging cordless tools. And, though the region has experienced significant growth, the rent charged for our unit increased less than 10% per year while the prices charged for new rentals exactly like ours increased more than 16% per year. Everyone we spoke with was friendly, informative, and upbeat. In particular Im thinking of Rose and Art, though that goes for the other tenants too! This was a great place, and we were completely satisfied. Thank you!
