Saw Hannah 3xs for cut and color. She was lacking in both. She couldnt do a fringe bang cut so she referred me to her boss DeeDee. She cut my hair and i had to come back for her to do bangs again because she just cut them straight across. Next appointment with her I was trying to explain the cut i want on bangs and sides, all the while feeling anxious cuz she was being very short and abrupt with me. I believe she doesnt know how to cut long hair but instead of admitting that she thought it would make her look better to find fault with my hair instead because she was telling me that it doesnt grow on the sides so she couldnt do what I needed? Thats a new one!?. I have a very thick and full head of hair. This statement should have been a red flag but i let her cut it anyway and I left that day with all kinds of different levels and holes in my hair. One of the worst cuts Ive ever had! I cant do anything with it. I have to let it grow before someone can fix it. When I came back in to get money back and talk about it DD wasnt there so I showed Hannah and Tori the mess she had made and they agreed it was really bad. Hannah said she understood because it happened a lot with DDs clients. All the while her and tori were shaking their heads in disbelief. Along with a refund, I made app for a week later to get someone else at Dside to fix the mess DD made. The next thing I know DD called and left me a VM the day before my appt, telling me that she was canceling my appt because as a salon they couldnt meet my needs. Well DD, my needs were not abnormal, you just didnt want me coming back in and having your employees see the incompetent job you did. BTW, the pricing on your web site dont coincide with what you charged me for my many services there. Found that out a little to late.

$225 bill for the worst cut and color service I have had since I have lived here. After all the heartache of the damage that was done, and serious consideration of reporting this chick to state board, I found out my stylist, Brooke, has only been licensed for a year. Most stylists who have been doing hair for 10-20 years charge what I was and they at least are tenured enough to do it right... Went in with level 7 previously lightened hair. I wanted Icy blonde with a smokey shadow root. I had a clear expectation that I might not leave icy blonde in my first sitting. But the stylist decided she would take an aggressive approach and I walked out completely over processed, (they obviously dont spend the money they make on Olaplex) and I was also incredibly over toned. I looked like smurfette by the time I left. Once the blue toner finally started to fade I had the ugliest halo of unblended bleed lines from the bleach. I wanted long layers in my hair and I ended up getting a hack job. Like the most basic 90 degree haircut they teach in beauty school. No point cutting to take out the weight or blend the lines. Instead I got thinning shears that were used way too high up on my hair shaft. A few months after having Brooke do my hair I had to cut 4.5" off (with a better stylist) to try and get back to better, healthier hair; and still I could probably afford another 3" just to undo the damage she has done. Save your money, and your locks... look elsewhere for a stylist who knows what theyre doing.

After reading the reviews for D Side Studio, I scheduled an appointment with Heather and she did an amazing job!! Heather was very thorough and she really paid attention to detail. She also took her time when cutting my hair, which I really appreciated. The receptionist was friendly, as well as the other stylists. I will definitely be going back to Heather, at D Side Studio, again! She was very friendly, very professional and she did an awesome job with my hair. Im so glad that I finally found a great salon and an awesome stylist! Thank you, Heather!

Was in for a cut and color. Heather was able to totally change the color to look amazing. Her knowledge of products was impressive and extremely helpful. She clearly is up to speed on her trade. Ultimately, the cut was perfection. She definitely has a great personality as does all the staff. D Side even has some high tech gadgets that make things better for everyone. Havent been this impressed in a very long time. The other staff also appeared to be top notched. Im super happy to find a place that I can look forward to going back to.

Ive been going to Dside in downtown Vancouver for nearly a year now. Its a smaller shop, with very friendly service that takes good care of their customers. I always see the same stylist so there arent any surprises, and they really take the time to understand what I want. Its not like some of the franchises that try to get you in and out as fast as possible so they can get to the next customer. I would highly recommend it to anyone whos looking for better quality haircut and a more personal touch.

Called for a cut and color. The receiptionist was friendly. She was able to schedule me within the hour. My stylist was Allison. She was absolutely fabulous!! I explained what I wanted. The type of hair color and style cut. She did the rest!!! It turned out awesome! Exactly how I invisioned!! Allison takes her time and really listens to what you want done. She made a few suggestions and I cant be any happier!! THANK YOU ALLISON!!! (and welcome home!) Joanna (and he loves it too)

Heather is amazing!!! A true artist. I just went in a few days ago to have about 12 inches of my hair cut off. I was quite nervous to do so, but I am in love with my new shorter do. And the color she did is also just gorgeous. I got so many compliments on my new look that I know Ill be going back for a long time. I highly recommend trying this salon. It was very nice inside and the staff is super friendly. Cant wait to see them again!

This studio was recommended by a good friend. I called for an appointment, got an answering machine and left my information. Several hours later, no reply. Called back and was spoken to in a pretty rude manner by a rushed and bothered sounding worker. I decided it wasnt worth my time to make an appointment. If you cant be polite and take the time to make an appointment, dont answer the phone! This was a horrible first impression.

I moved here from Chicago and was very concerned about where to go to get my hair cut & colored. I had the same stylist for 15 years and the last thing she told me before I moved out here was not to come back with bad hair. Katie is awesome she colored and cut my hair the day before I got married and I have had so many complements. I highly recommend this salon. Oh they will also trim your bangs for free in between cuts!
