I called five days in advance to rent a storage unit and Penske Truck for two days. When my Wife and I arrived we worked with the property manager Zack. He kept having to redo everything and seemed untrained and having trouble with the system. This went on for a hour. Not fun on moving day but we were understanding because we have all been new at a job before. Zack said our $150 dollar security deposit wouldnt be charged, it would just be a hold the the card. It did get charged. Zack said we would get our $150 secuity deposit back, less any extra milage. We went over 31 miles @ .79 cents a mile. They will not refund any of the security deposit. Zack said he would give us one day truck rental free due to his mistakes. He charged us the full amount. We called Penske corporate and they said we were misinformed and they cannot help us. Inside the truck was dirty and full of sand when we got the truck. Worst of all, when my wife went back in to discuss this with them in person, the paperwork they have on file is NOT the paperwork they gave us. It looks to have been redone after we left. Very fraudulent and dishonest behavior.

Shaddy storage unit. Incompetent employees, you can do better. I was offered the discounted 50% first month rent vs. rental truck provided at the new location. I was advised at the time of booking the truck that if I had a better deal through another truck company to bring it in for a “price match”. This was completely false information. In the end, they did not price match. Went to move all my stuff on moving day, was told I could not get into the gate until my rent was paid (their data entry inability to update records despite customer email notification). I was told I had to pay for the whole month to be able to be let in… my” credit card would be refunded the difference when I returned the truck.” Truck was supposed to be rented for entire day, yet at the time of pickup I was told it was only 4 hours… 20 minutes of which was wasted on their incompetence regarding details of the truck reservation and billing address to get the gate open. Customer service tip: don’t lie and piss off your customers… you are not the only storage service in town.

I’ve been a renter from the time the Iron Gate facility on 4th Plain opened in 2004, 12 years ago. During the first 9 years, I was totally satisfied. Over that 9 year period, the rent increased a total of 32%, an average of about 3% per year. Then, three years ago, the current managers took over. During their 3 year reign, my rent has increased 34%, an average of over 10% per year. I realize that Iron Gate is in business to make a profit, but this is unconscionable. They justify the increase by citing inflation, which has increased a total of only 6% over the last 5 years. I still need storage, but it won’t be at Iron Gate. It’s hard to do business with someone with such low regard for their customers.

I needed a storage unit that was near my house. I reserved a unit online and then found out that I had reserved a unit at the wrong location. The lady at Irongate Storage on 4th Plain Blvd. was super helpful. She found me a unit that fit my needs and was reasonably priced. The paperwork was done efficiently and I was happy that they were so fast. I appreciate that they went above and beyond to help me. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a storage facility.

Do not rent a Penske truck from this place!! Had a reservation for over a month to pick up the truck at 9:00 am!! Somehow we were bumped to 10:00 the day before.... not cool when all of your movers are standing and waiting!! The truck lock was broken and it locked the keys in the truck while the truck was running! Had to wait for roadside assistance even though we were right down the street!! The truck also has leaks and got Furniture wet!! Bad business!!

Im writing this review for a friend that has been with Irongate Storage for some years. She has always told me how great the staff here at this location has treated her & worked with her the times she has had health issues & has fallen behind. In my opinion, that constitutes great customer service! Kudos to Brandy & Jake for their excellent management skills & going above & beyond for their tenants. Irongate Storage Rocks!
