The first time I tried to post this it "mysteriously" never showed up. I have no problem with either the quality or the service at this particular Public Storage Facility. The manager, Cyndi, has always been very responsive and helpful. My dissatisfaction is with Public Storage as a Corporate entity with its hidden policies and poor responsiveness to their customers. I signed up for a unit six months ago and have always paid my bill on time. About two weeks ago, I received my January bill online and noticed the monthly rate had been increased $31.00 (over 10%). I had not received the required 30 day notice for any change in my rate. When I checked with Cyndi she told me the individual facilities did not set rates and I needed to talk to customer service. I then called customer service and was told my rate was still under the "market rate" and there was nothing I could do and no one else I could speak to. I insisted they give me the district managers name and number. I called and left him a message and got no response. I then called customer service back and they said they would open a "ticket" with my complaint and a manager would contact me by phone within 48 hours. When I did not receive a call, I again called customer service and was told there was nothing more to be done and my request could not be reviewed by anyone else. I insisted that the customer rep give me the name and number of the regional manager who I then called and she left a message for the senior area manager and asked that he call me back. He did not respond. I called again and was told they would get him the message. The next morning, Cyndi called me to say shed been asked to tell me "they" had gotten my messages, but nothing more could be done. We had completed the circle and I was back to the original person Id spoken to - with no satisfaction. I have never dealt with a company where I was unable to talk with a person in upper management. Public Storage insists that these issues are only resolvable on the customer service level. I never held out great hope that the situation would be resolved in my favor, but I did want the corporation to know how I, a senior on a fixed income, felt about them arbitrarily raising my rates and not even honoring the part of their contract guaranteeing 30 days notice. Its very like a "bait-and-switch" scheme. They lure you in with a low rate, never make it really clear that if they feel like it and the market changes, they will raise the rate. I signed a contract for a rate I could afford and find it difficult to meet the new rate. Thats what I wanted to talk about with someone in management. They made it abundantly clear that they couldnt care less. Public Storage is traded on the NYSE, and is currently trading at $152. per share. They capture 88% of the storage industry market. That leaves only 12% of the market to all other companies. With these statistics, you can see how they have little incentive to be responsive to their customers. They are much more interested in the satisfaction of their shareholders. Here we have another "rock and a hard place" that we, the consumer, are caught between. The only recourse is to write a review and then contact The Better Business Bureau with your complaints. Otherwise, find a place to live with storage, or a friend with a large garage.

I was not sure which storage place to go with and when I looked at Public Storage on line I liked what I saw when it came to what they were able to provide when it came it to the protection and safekeeping of my belongings. When I arrived at the location in Vancouver by LA Fitness on 5th Ave I was met by a wonderful lady named Cindi who is very bubbly, enthusiastic and full of pertinent information. She had information regarding the surrounding area and I was very happy I decided on Public Storage as I know that anyone who pays attention to details is paying attention to how satisfied I am at renting a space on their property. Thank you Public Storage for employing the best to put me at ease with choosing your facility to satisfy my needs.

I was driving by on the freeway and saw the sign they had and it reminded me that I was going to be needing a unit in a few weeks so I pulled off the 78th street exit and stopped by the office. The rates were suitable but they didnt have any available in the size I needed right at this time. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and even contacted the other site located in Salmon Creek but they also were very full. She gave me a brochure that had the web site and a phone number I can call in a few days to see if the availability has changed at that point. If they have my unit size at that time I will be back but if not then I wont. But they were very knowledgeable of the packing supplies they had there and were very friendly.

I thought my stuff would fit in a 5 X 10 but was wrong so inquired about a 10 X 10 but they were either unavailable or very expensive at a different Public Storage. I ended up cancelling my storage unit after 3 weeks and rented at a different company. In my brief stay here the place was a bit dirty and in need of a power washing. The unit I rented at didnt have a light inside which would of been an inconvenience. Im not sure if any units had lights. Getting in and out was easy. I felt like my stuff would of been safe. Customer service was great. The lady (Cynthia) was really friendly, organized and knew her stuff.

I have rented from Public Storage on and off for years! I have rented spaces all over the Portland Vancouver area. There is something very special about this location. And I know I can pay online but going in person is so much fun. Cyndi always has time for me and everyone. I really dont know how she keeps that property so dialed in. Like I said. Ive rented storage for years around Portland/Vancouver and this is once of the nicest, neatest, cleanest and most friendly storage facilitys and its because of the awesome Poperty Manager Cyndi A.

I visited three storage facilities before meeting Cindy at Public Storage just off 78th and I-5 in Vancouver. Cindy by far exceeded my expectations and her friendliness exceed those visited previously. She was fun to talk to and she knew her buisness and was very helpful in setting up our rental agreement. Awesome personality!
